One Second A Day 2022

Smile, we're all dying.
If you are new here, welcome. My name is Nick and I live in Idaho in the winters working as a Ski Patroller, and in the summers I live in my truck in Montana working as a Heli-Rappeller for the Forest Circus. I have been making these annual films for 8 years, and I make occasional short documentaries. I’m not very good with writing and talking about myself.
So how do I explain a year like this? How do I explain a year full of trials and tribulations? How do I explain a year where I lost my identity? How do I explain a year where I had to go into darkness and rediscover who I was? How do I explain a year with tragedy? How do I explain a year that visually looks no different than the previous 8? How do I explain a year where I experienced continuous emotional ups and downs? How do I explain a year where I took on my greatest challenge yet? How do I explain a year where I had 3 jobs, and never took a day off while being injured? How do I explain a life that is my own choosing, where I draw creative inspiration constantly, which in turn feeds my emotions and actions?
I can’t explain it. It’s just life, and it was just the most tumultuous and ever changing year I’ve had. Simple as that. I can’t explain it, and I can’t even show it properly. Every clip and every day is a memory that reminds me of a moment not captured on film.
The magic in all of this, is that my life is now being shaped by this film series. I’ve gotten into filmmaking because of this project, and now it’s becoming my life. I filmed a documentary in Mexico this past November, and I can’t wait to share it with you all soon.
The beginning is near.
