  • One take walkthrough of the Galloping Ghost in Chicago, IL. Wonderful place to visit! This is, and maybe always will be, the greatest collection of arcade cabinets ever assembled. Recorded on Sunday, June 26th 2022.
    Check out my tour video of Funspot in Laconia, NH! Then go debate which is the true Largest Arcade in the World:

    I know you could download all the roms of these games in about 10 mins and play them at home but it’s just not the same, it doesn’t have the feel of the arcade. Nothing compares to the sights and the sounds of being in an actual arcade, playing on original cabinets.

      @rushmore3927 ปีที่แล้ว

      Truth! I love both, but there are quite a few arcade games that either do not work well through emulation, or not the same playable experience at all. Ironically, emulation is what ignited the retro craze.

    • @rayphoenix7296
      @rayphoenix7296 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately for me, there are no arcades like this where I live so emulation is my only option. I agree though. It is not the same as the real thing. I wish there were arcades like this where I live.

    Since you have been to the Galloping Ghost they have knocked down walls and expanded the smaller room to be fully open and are still working towards opening the expansion in the building behind the Mortal Kombat row. The Galloping Ghost currently has 885 games in the arcade (they count multiple cabinets with the same title as one). They add a new game to the arcade every Monday and stream it on Twitch.

      The expansion is pretty nice. He brought back sum old titles that were shelved for a while. I wish they woulda brought back the old red tent they had with excitebike tho. Sounds like the other expansion is taking longer than they anticipated.

    My dream arcade would be about three levels, each dedicated to the decades of arcade gaming: 70s, 80s, and 90s.

    This is how the arcades were in the 80's. Cramped, not a lot of room to maneuver around, sticky floors and possibly smelly and humid.

    This place has that energy where you can literally feel someone’s frustration trying to break a record 😂 like a disturbance in the force , this place would be awesome if the organized the cabinets in a circle ⭕️ formation or something still very great either way but it’s definitely not the fun spot 🤣👍🏼 great video btw man thanks

    Thanks for pointing me to this vid, coincidently the other vid showed up on my feed before this one. So this arcade has that cramped, sweaty old school vibe. So as i said in the other, I think I might like it because there is so much more to do. Now with GGA, they are open til 2am and all you can play as you mentioned. I am upset that alot of games were down while you were there. They are usually quick to repair them and bring them back up. Also, they introduce a new game every Monday. Did you happen to catch one of the only cabs in the world for Primal Rage 2? Glad you enjoyed our local arcade and that Claudio/ZSJ match was the best.

    I've been to both Funspot and Galloping Ghost. I agree that Funspot is the largest venue in terms of square footage. Galloping Ghost is the largest venue in terms of sheer game density. GG has the greatest collection in the world including several one of a kind game cabinets and ultra rare games. I live in SE Wisconsin and GG is about an hour away from me.

How can you appreciate a historic arcade game when you're missing its cabinets beauty and glory?? A retro game is not at its best if its not played within its original form!

    A lot of those cabs look a bit rough, especially the plain control panels. I suppose there isn't a lot of room for more cabs, so the plain ones probably swap boards/marquees for some variety. 7:41 looks like I found my corner--big midway/atari driving cabs, especially 2049--odd that it's not Special Editon.

    Also the machines are positioned so close together that their side vents would be blocked, shortening the life of the electronics.
