The world may change but my love for lan wangji's character will never change. After reading so many bl novels I still haven't found a ml as sweet as him. Yes there are many sweet ml's but lan wangji holds a very special place which can never be replaced. He has one of the best character development i have ever seen
Same. I've been reading BL since third grade (not a healthy age to start ik) but still there's no ml that's the same as LWJ. Same with his and WWX's chemistry. The overall story of MDZS got me.hooked more than any thing I've ever read and watched before
What really is significant for me is that Lan WangJi never felt entitled towards Wei WuXian nor did he expected for his feelings to be returned. He just wanted to help Wei WuXian and keep him safe.
If Wei WuXian never fully realized his feelings, that would mean Lan WangJi was willing to follow Wei WuXian under the impression that Wei WuXian was just toying his feelings all along. He thought Wei WuXian remembered about his confession for him this entire time and did not return those feelings and despite that Lan WangJi still wanted to stay by Wei WuXian's side anyways. If that isn't love, then I don't know what it is. Lan WangJi has shown and given the purest love towards Wei WuXian.
I felt exactly the same on my end and this goes to how I feel for Wei Ying too, he's not only smart but selfless too. This is why Wangxian is so precious to me, no matter how I have other favourites too but Wei Ying, Lan Zhan and Wangxian is irreplaceable to me
I think mdzs will always hold a special place in my heart. They balance each other out perfectly and they both truly love each other. I can’t really put into words all I want to say about mdzs but it’s probably my favorite bl I’ve ever encountered because of how accurately and well it portrays their relationship and as a queer guy myself that can be really hard to find a lot of the time
EXACTLY. THE AMOUNT IF LOVE AND PATIENCE THIS MAN HAS IS ASTONISHING. I just find it so amazing how their love blossomed in such a colorful and beautiful way. Mxtx did such a good way to writing their characters and their love story as not to be fetishizing, but in a manner that two people truly do love each other. It just happened to be two men, but I love that mxtx doesnt focus on that aspect specifically, moreover the fact they’re in love.
This song represents clearly how Lan Wangji felt when his loved one died. Even when MXTX Didn't write Lan Zhan's point of view during those 13 years and just throw some clues of what happened I have a picture in my mind, crystal clear of Lan Wangji, recovering from his wounds, with his back full of bandages trying to sit to play Inquiry on the Gu Qin every night while staring at the moon longing for a response, for a mere sign. I can clearly see the little A-Yuan who slept with him for those three years waking up when he hears the Gu Qin and sitting on Lan Zhan to sleep in his lap while his father cries silent and cold tears and plays waiting for his beloved one. I can only imagine the pain he suffered and it's so deep that I don't know how did he endure it all those years.

I imagine it the same way.....and not just him playing inquiry....I can imagine him sitting under magnolia playing wangxian on his zither and lotus pods lying on the plate on his side while two rabbits come hopping from under the table and he just smiles at them while a rouge tear escapes his eyes and his voice cracks a bit as he keeps singing the lyrics😭😭

One thing I will always obsess over is the importance of the guqin inclusion. The instrument is associated so badly with Lan Wangji that when I hear a melody with it, I'm reminded of MDZS.
My heart has never known a greater yearning. I could never compare to Lan Wangji and though he is not an actually person, MXTX did such a beautiful job creating him that we can feel his longing. His aspiration for Wei Ying will always bring a melancholy feel to my heart. You can feel his pain and craving for Wei Ying's presence. I can't fully express how amazing everyone on the donghua team, live action, and how MXTX did on portraying Lan Wangji's feelings. He is not a man of many words nor does he express his emotions yet, we can feel it through his songs.
Honestly, no greater love. Every time I see WangXian, I'm reminded of a post that said the reason this dynamic resonates so much is because Wei Ying and Lan Zhan are equal in terms of status. Not master/student like SVSS or god/ghost king like Hualian, WangXian are normal people. Though following two different paths of cultivation, they are just regular individuals.
I have such an attachment and it will never fade for them. Though new productions of BL's will come, my heart will always hold CQL/MDZS near. Their love is such a pure dedication towards one another and we get to witness it from beginning to end. I mean there really is no end to such greatness, but I think we all know that they are happy now. Somewhere in the world of MDZS, WangXian is blissfully indulging in each other for the rest of their lives.
Seriously, thank you to the novel and everyone who made this possible for us. We're all stuck in this blackhole of MDZS but I wouldn't have it any other way. My life has never been more complete and I'm glad I got to know them.

literally this!! one of the reason why wangxian is the most beautiful ship among mxtx ship in my opinion is because wangxian is just human being with limited life span, not immortal/demon or god/ghost king. but even knowing that lan zhan spent 13 years of his life searching and longing for wei ying even tho he himself didn't know if wei ying would ever return
I cried buckets listening and reading the lyrics T___T how lonely was Lan Zhan when Wei Ying died, and how he have regrets. But I smiled when Wei Ying suddenly appears in the pic towards the end :') Lan Zhan finally got his Wei Ying back and he will not let go this time.

Ayunga's voice is as much tender as it is powerful. He sang Nie Huaisang theme for CQL, and now here in the donghua... He and Xiao Zhan are good friends and often appear at various shows. Was nice to hear him again!

Everytime I come back to this somg it makes me think, “He really must have longed for Wwx that badly.” All those years, he continued longing for and loving Wei Wuxian despite how they departed and the relationship they held before doing so. Despite all of that and the fact that WWX’s status was terrible and could potentially hurt LWJ’s the more he associated himself with WWX, he really truly loved Wei Wuxian’s character and chose to stay by his side. Just reading the story and seeing their innocent love for each other and listening to this really makes me so sad.

MDZS has been my favorite novel of all time, whether it's BL or not. WangXian's love is so beautiful and strong. Lan Zhan always true to his heart, alone, heartbroken for 13 years without knowing that his love will return to him. I cry listening to this song and even LZ's face shows how sad and resigned he feels and after the lyrics change and WY appears... WangXian is reunited. I really love Lan Zhan, he is so special. But I just gotta ask why you need to use something els when Wangxian is perfectly available as the THE ship name for them. It's canon, it's literally used in the novel itself, the author, adaptation staff members, and the general fandom uses it. Unless you just wanna be "unique" for some reason, then you do you, lol.
