I’m glad you put this content out. I’m 55 and I bought the switch for relaxation and Mental Health. Animal Crossing is my first game and I’m a week into it and super addicted already. You are giving me great ideas for future purchases..
Spiritfarer was my personal game of the year in 2021. It helped me confront the losses in my life that I was never able to process bc I was too afraid of all the pain. Man was this game hard to play for me but at the same time a cathartic experience, and I still think about the game to this day.
I can only speak from my own experience of course. So, all I can say is that, yes, I was absolutely in shambles with every encounter. Yet it felt like the grip my own grief in real life had over me softened as I learned to accept that things happened as they did, and there is nothing gained by dwelling on the what ifs. I think that Spiritfarer might be an amazing, albeit maybe painful, experience if you approach it with an open mind.
Unpacking is honestly my game of the year. I loved it when I played it for the first time but didn't think I'd play it again. I replayed it four times and I still love it so so much. With every playthrough I discovered new little details. It has such a unique way of storytelling and it works SO well. It feels more deep and emotional than many bigger titles I have played the last years.
Unpacking was a game where I didn't expect to cry at the end but the ending song hits just right when you're basically at the same stage of life as the person you're unpacking things for during the game.
I ❤ this game, but feel the price is high for the amount of content. I still bought it of course. I wish there were updates or expansions to freshen it up as I've played it at least a couple dozen time. Haha! 😂
I have never cried as hard in a game as I did for Spiritfarer. It’s truly the most beautiful game I’ve ever played. But minus the sad parts, it is also very fun and addicting! I found it hard to put down. 10/10 recommend
A cozy game that I played recently and really liked was called Sumire. You play as a young girl who is grieving after the loss of a family member. And without spoiling too much, you help her on her quest to have a "perfect day", and it involves going on quests involving her family, friends, townspeople, and animals! It's only a few hours long, and the art style is really colorful/cute which compliments the endearing story well. There are also achievements/multiple paths to take, so there's replayability. It's also very fairly priced!
Sky children of the light was the game that kept me sane during the pandemic and for that reason it’ll always have a place in my heart. Also, I actually made some really good international friends from there since you can play with people from all around the world. I’m sad not many cozy gamers know about it or mention it enough so thank you for mentioning it here! Unfortunately, i’m not playing it anymore because currently i’m in my acnh phase since i got my first nintendo switch just this year😁 I’ve never commented on a vid of yours before so I just wanna say thank you for the great content! I know I can always count on you for recommendations!
I needed an Eeowna fix today. My dog passed suddenly last night and I'm completely lost. Anything that takes my mind off of briefly and supplies some serotonin is welcome. Thanks for what you do.
Spiritfarer will always have my heart. Media doesn’t typically make me cry, the only other game I can think of that did was Professor Layton, Spiritfarer got me crying for the most surprising characters, like Giovanni and Butch
Beacon Pines is an amazing game. Perfect story-telling, perfect voice acting and cool mechanics. It was one of those games that I couldn't put away and would rather play than go to sleep. Ah, the art is also very beautiful and the characters are super cute. I simply fell in love.
One of the most cozy games I played besides stardew or animal crossing was called Yonder: Chronicles of the cloud kingdom there is no enemy that really kills you it’s just kind of doing quests and you have little farms in different biomes and you can interact with all of the animals. I loved it and it really wasn’t stressful.
@@galaxygirl1000is it overwhelming? I watched a trailer for Grow and it seems massive but if the world is as beautiful as yonder it’s probably worth it
@@grape_ringpop I don’t think so! It’s just lovely and sweet and definitely cozy! Lots of fun things to explore, and things to collect, and secrets to uncover. Lots of customization, too!
I absolutely adore Spiritfarer. I played it quite a while back (before the DLC/expansions were released) but it was easily the most striking game I played that year. It was so beautifully written and able to bring on genuine emotions and sadness without being overly sentimental. It even inspired me to try and make art again - I haven't really done anything to "make" art in the best part of a decade, but Spiritfarer had me daydreaming about scenes I want to try to recreate. That may be something unique to me, but it was definitely an important part of why the game resonated with me so much. I kinda wish I could forget it all and experience it for the first time again.
Sky: Children of Light also has an Aurora concert going on right now that just made me absolutely an emotional wreck. I've watched it maybe 3 times at this point and it's incredible every time, you feel so connected to the other players without needing a single word exchanged.
Wylde Flowers is my pick for this year’s top cozy game. I’m still thinking about it, weeks after finishing it. It’s made me rethink my previous stance on mobile games. (It’s originally an Apple Arcade game, ported to Switch which is where I played it.) I can’t get over how wonderful it was from start to finish.
Yes! I played it first on Apple Arcade. Then I got a switch just to play it on the switch! 😂 I’m loving playing it a second time and I’ll probably play it over and over again, let’s be honest. 😅
I consider myself as a “casual” gamer but ever since I played sky I’ve been hooked! It made me buy a Nintendo switch lite lol (was playing it on mobile at first). I’ve met many friends from all over the world and will never forget the experience this game brought. It’s like a warm hug 💙 it’s been 2 years since I first played it and even though I don’t play it daily anymore, I’m still happy to see some of my friends every time I go online.
My fav cosy game is still Littlewood, and has been since its release on the switch which is almost two years ago. I also love Friends of Mineral Town (story of seasons) for cosy vibes and Grow Song of the Evertree.
The top reason why I easily got obsessed with Animal Crossing is because I never played it in the past. Its just one of those games my parents never bought for us, and since they didn't buy it for us we, for many years, didn't know it existed. So I grew attached to ACNH very easily. I know many say stuff about not being able to talk to villagers for very long in ACNH, and yeah sometimes that's the case, but I still enjoy speaking to them. I love Cherry, Chrissy, Apollo, Francine, Flora, and Ava. They are my beginning villagers and the villagers who first came to my island. and I have grown attached to them. It's a very different experience with ACNH if you've never played a single AC game before
Great video! All of these games are top notch. I'm obviously a huge fan of No Man's Sky (over 300 hrs on Switch now), and one of the things I feel needs more attention is how the recent update allows players to go into the settings *at any time* (regardless of their starting mode) and tweak a ton of specifics (enemy/environmental damage, availability/cost of resources, pirates on/off, and so much more) in order to make the game play exactly the way they want to play on any given day, with no penalty whatsoever for making things easier if/when desired. That level of flexibility combined with the endless amount of content is a cozy gamer's dream. At least it is for me, lol. I'm also a big fan of most of the other games you listed. Potion Permit is one I find myself going back to on a regular basis. It's just so chill and engaging. Dorf Romantik is the perfect game to play while watching/listening to something else. It's fun to create beautiful landscapes without too much effort, and interesting to see if I beat my top score each run. Beacon Pines is a game I picked up on your recommendation, and wow... it quickly became one of my favorite games ever. So good. Thank you for continuing to create such quality content. Your videos have been immensely helpful. I'm really glad to have found you (even if my wallet sometimes complains, ha).
Spiritfarer is legit one of my all time favorite games. Everything about it was so good that I played it twice, and I NEVER play story games twice. I am also very interested in Potion Permit and have it on my steam wishlist..
Mines “Grow: Song Of The Evertree” at the moment! I’m really enjoying tending to my tree while also managing the town and helping the newbies settle in ☺️
Sky children of the light has quickly become one of my favourite games of this year, if not in general. It's all I've played since the sponsored stream and in Still finding new things. Plus it hits the emotions without a single word. Both with some of the spirits memories, and with the other players. I ran into three other players at the start of the final level (if you've played it you know what that's like haha) and we stuck together through the entire thing, it was so wholesome!
Aww so glad to see Sky on the list ! It's my most played game in 2022. I absolutely adore that they are always adding new content. You can even play music using instruments. The community is super friendly too :)
Please play Garden Story!!! the design fits perfectly up your alley and even though it has some combat it definitely is a cozy game you can just run errands if you wanted. Im not sure why I haven't heard many creators talk about it
Great list! I love looking at everyone else’s favorites as well as it gives me more to look at. My top 10 cozy games on Switch are Breath of the Wild, Catherine Full Body, Dragon Quest Builders 2, Strange Horticulture, Spiritfarer, What Remains of Edith Finch, Coffee Talk, Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, Farm Together, and of course Animal Crossing.
Yoshi's crafted world has got to be one of the best calm games I've played. The whole craft theme is so nice, and there are so many worlds that you can play through. It can be a bit hard at times (especially if you're not doing mellow mode), but the entire craft theme and the relaxing lofi background music is so nice! I personally preferred the WiiU version (Yoshi's Woolly world), but this one is still great!
I started playing a lot of Wylde Flowers a couple months ago. I became obsessed with it. Love the it mixes farming with witchy vibes. Parts of the game had me in actual tears. I love how attached to the characters you get and the fact the dialogue is always different each time you speak to someone. Love Cozy Grove soo much! Also a fan of ooblets but have been stuck on the damn arcade Island for soo long trying to get high scores. It's stressing me out
Yay, another Wylde Flowers fan!! I didn’t expect much going in but I got hooked and like you said, SOOO attached to the characters. I love so much about that game.
Sky has been my most played game since 2020 during lockdowns, made some real special friends there. The Aurora concert currently is one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had in a game.
My favourite cozy game is probably Slime Rancher. It is simply adorable when it comes to aesthetics and the idea of keeping and feeding slimes to sell their (literal) crap for money is just funny.
Amazing. Just what I needed over the holidays. It's often overlooked, how well Life Sims and the likes can actually tell complex stories. It's not just FarmVille and the Sims out there, but also beautiful works of art (with beautiful art!) that are mostly indie titles. This list is top notch, in my opinion!
Hue is a cozy level game where you unlock the color wheel to find your mom. You get voiced letters from her and the sound design is absolutely excellent. It’s $9.99 on switch, I got it on sale for $1.99 and bought it with switch coins so it was free. An absolutely beautiful game, well worth it!
YESS finally someone who mentions sky! I've been playing since 2020 on IOS, and it's truly such an underrated game for the fact it's free. Making friends with strangers through emotes is extremely rewarding, the main storyline and realms are stunning, and there are tons of places to just chill out.
Probably a bit controversial but I actually find Limbo really cosy 😅 I know it’s a dark premise but I think the artwork is STUNNING, and I love problem solving games
I really loved HOA. Its cute, relatively short and inexpensive. Its super beautifully made and the story is so cute. You are basically a fairy that gets help from bugs and other small creatures.
Honestly, Sky is one of my favourite games ever, and I never hear creators talking about it!! It’s so beautiful and new content is constantly coming out every few months.
I’m so glad your opinion changed about Harvestella. I reluctantly bought it but I just love Square Enix. I’ve only finished Chapter 3 and have cried twice because of the writing. I do love classic JRPG storylines and music in general, but this one has been becoming my go-to every day. Love your lists and content! Keep it up as it’s a no pressure way of helping us fill our wishlists. Haha!
I've been playing SKY: COTL for more than a year now. Though it's free, i'm pretty sure I already spent lot of money for cute cosmetic and season pass. It's a bit repetitive but they always update you with new events. Right now we have free Aurora (real singer) virtual concert that happened every 4 hours. Each session is 1 hour and is so good.
My go to cozy games are those developed by GUST, I'll never tire of the Atelier franchise. And last year they released 'Blue Reflection Second Light' which is a Magical Girl JRPG. For those who grew up on 'Sailor Moon' , 'Cardcapter Sakura' or 'Tokyo Mew Mew' I'd say check it out.
Spiritfarer and Unpacking are amazing! There's a farming game that's my ideal cozy game called Farm Together. I've been playing dreamlight valley more than anything else lately.
I loved Beacon Pines! Such interesting gameplay and the characters were very engaging. I was so emotionally invested in Luca and company. I hope there is a second one so we can learn more about some of the characters. A prequel would also be amazing.
Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori Will of the Wisps and Gris are easy platformer style cozy games with gorgeous art styles. Also, Pokémon Arceus is my most played game of 2022 and I still play daily. If you’ve ever tried Pokémon and didn’t like battling, Arceus is completely different. It’s SO much fun. It is a blast. It’s made for someone like me who is all about collecting and resourcing. I’m almost 200 hours in with no desire to end it. Also, the story of the dev team behind No Mans Sky made me love the game more. They built the hype up for that game and of course the release was disastrous. And the team could’ve just walked away with how much they were attacked… but they put their heads down and said nothing for months and months and then continued to fix that game until it was 10x better than promised. That game is a blast and so much fun. Im so glad it came to switch as I can’t play PC games in bed lol
A cozy game that made me super emotional was Triangle Strategy. I loved the story so much and replayed it to get multiple endings. Current favorite that I CANNOT stop playing is Garden Paws and Dicey Dungeons :)
I cannot imagine considering Triangle Strategy to be cozy lol, I found it very intense and stressful and the story is all about crazy moral decisions and geopolitics. But, valid.
I played Beacon Pines after watching you talk about it and it’s probably one of my best gaming experiences ever. Even though I finished it a a month or two ago I still keep thinking about it. Thank you so much for putting the game on my radar!
Watching your videos is always such a cozy and happy place to be. Thank you Eeowna for being such a bright light in this world. 🌞 So excited that you’re about to hit 50K! You go girl!!! You deserve it. 🤗💖 Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!! 😊🎄☃️🎊✨
A lot of your games are also on my list. I wish Unpacking never ended, and I was so sad when the developers confirmed they were not considering making a sequel to let us continue playing through someone else's life maybe. My favorite part of Spiritfarer was finding all the different meals to make with the different ingredients! I made a point of making every single one of them ahah
I'd say your list is missing Night in the Woods which, like Beacon Pines, is incredibly depressing, incredibly beautiful, incredibly moving and relatable mystery game where the characters are cute animals. Night in the Woods changed my life and is my personal favorite cozy game.
I’ve been lucky enough to play some amazing games this year. My favourite at the moment is Dragon Quest Builders 2: I saw someone describe it as “Minecraft with a tutorial and storyline”. It’s totally bonkers and I love it. I can’t wait to get Dorf Romantik, that might be my Christmas present to myself
I can't believe that you put in No Mans Sky but not Subnautica /lh. Subnautica may have scary sections, but I personally think that 4546B is such a beautiful planet, that I just can't help but relax when I swim around. It feels very tranquil, and the Degasi storyline tugs at your heartstrings. It's also a farming game in a sense, and makes you manage your resources in smart ways.
Garden story is probably my #1 cozy game. I would've said moonlighter but some of the battles stress me out unlike garden story. It's incredibly cute and the music is so calming. Sometimes I'll hum the music to myself while doing regular tasks 💀
Yaaas wildcard No Man’s Sky! I’m so hooked on this game. Again I appreciate the recommendation! All of these cozy games are so compelling! Great video! 🤗🚩
Harvestella is my favorite game right now! But my ultimate cozy games have always been the SoS games whether new or old 😂 anything farming will always be cozy to me.. I saw Beacon Pines on Xbox and really wanna try it out due to your recommendation
Weirdly Hades has become my cozy game. I’ve gotten to the point where I can beat Hades pretty reliably, so sometimes I do a low heat run just to collect resources and see my favorite characters be happy ^_^
I just got a switch a couple days ago, but I really loved Wyldeflowers on my phone so that was my first purchase. I’ve been loving playing it on my switch!
I’m playing Moonfighter and to me it’s very cozy. I play on the normal “hard” difficulty, but if I used easy it would for sure be very easy and you could focus on your shop and collecting.
Its odd but i love the comfort or getting in my ship and jumping from planet to planet, galaxy to galaxy, just exploring in No Mans Sky. It CAN be intense at the beginning, but ive heard it called a "chore simulator, just space".
I love my Switch and I love my Steam Deck. I have made my Switch the cozy game machine. When I need to chill I reach for my Switch. You have stuffed my Switch. Now I need more hours in a day!
I am normally as far from a 'cosy game' player as possible - I tend to gravitate towards Soulslikes - but I started Spiritfarer a couple of weeks ago and I am HOOKED. I love it so much, and now I am keen to try more!
Sky is really comfortable (for the most part) and calm (for the most part) to play. It's repetitive and all. But if you want something to calm down with, sky is (for the most part) awesome for it. Also the Aurora concert and a bunch of items are coming back at the end of this month (aug 2023). It's a beautiful experience and it's really something I hope a lot of people get to join. Plus it's coming to pc soon through steam.🎉 🎉
Wytchwood is another amazing game!! I'm on my second round of playing (starting over) and still love it. The art is absolutely stunning and I love the crafting adventure it claims to be!
I'm addicted to Disney dreamlight valley!!! I cannot tell you how much I love it. I grew up playing all the ac games on nintendo ds then switch. And ddlv is up there with ac!
One of my favourite cosy games is an indie game called Cat Café Manager - it's adorable and sOOoo so nice to play after a long day! Unfortunately, this game hasn't gotten the attention it deserves and I hope this will turn around in the future. You basically adopt stray cats and rebuild your gran's old cat café while you bond with the townies and help this strange yet evil looking cat to rebuild the "cat shrine". It's cosy, adorable and a little bit mysterious! It's great and I highly recommend it!! ❤️
WOW was Beacon Pines addictive… I decided to get after seeing it on this channel several times and I absolutely LOVED IT! I totally recommend getting Beacon Pines if you ever have lots of free time because it is HARD to put down
Just binged watched all of your videos after I've stumbled across your channel a few days ago! They've been so helpful in diving back into my Switch! Can't wait to play all of the ✨COZYYY✨games!! Thanks so much for your videos!
WOODLE TREE ADVENTURES 2 is my absolute favourite go to chill out stress free game. I spent about 3 pounds on it and play it all the time for my go to cosy game.
Spiritfarer def made me cry, another game that got me in the feels was the last campfire. I can't get enough of those games that cause emotional damage haha
So I haven't played video games in almost 30yrs. I just got a Switch and because of you, the first game i bought was Beacon Pines. I LOVE IT!!! thank you
I wish there were a game with graphics like Animal Crossing. I have been playing since 2020. Thanks for the list. Not sure what game I would play beside AC. One that I play that is not cozy is Mario Cart . We need more games that have graphics like these two. 😊
Dorfromantik is incredibly good for stress relief! I’m addicted, the music is beautiful too. Ooblets…I was obsessed. I adore that game so much. I’m definitely going to check out No Mans Sky after watching this!
As soon as I saw you started with unpacking I was like your taste is impeccable! I really appreciate the game. I relate with it a lot in certain aspects and truly felt it as an emotional game! It also really helped me with stress from school and home!
I wish I could find more games like Portal Knights or Stardew Valley for couch coop. My brother and I have played those two to death. Hope to see more coop sim/builder games 😢
A solid list! I think you should do a video on the term “cozy gaming” as a construct and how subjective it is. Like even though they’re savage and get my heart rate up, metroidvania games feel so cozy to me 😂
I like to say it's not a genre it's more of a vibe, or a feeling. A game doesn't have to be chill and slow paced to bring you comfort and act as an escape!

I’m really enjoying tending to my tree while also managing the town and helping the newbies settle in ☺️
It’s crazy how I finished this loved it & the Disney game came out. Reminds me of it SOOO much.
My favorite cozy game is House Flipper, and I never see anyone mention it 😭😭
Please play Garden Story!!! the design fits perfectly up your alley and even though it has some combat it definitely is a cozy game you can just run errands if you wanted.
It's stressing me out
I ended up buying a ton of high scores lol. The maintenance worker lady will cheat you into top for some gummies.
@@peacelovepink987 ooh thanks for the tip!! I'll definitely do that 🤣🤣
Yay, another Wylde Flowers fan!! I didn’t expect much going in but I got hooked and like you said, SOOO attached to the characters. I love so much about that game.
I played wylde flowers on my apple tv. Acarade I love it
Sky has been my most played game since 2020 during lockdowns, made some real special friends there.
Spiritfarer is AMAZING, i didn't expect to feel so much for the characters
Probably a bit controversial but I actually find Limbo really cosy 😅 I know it’s a dark premise but I think the artwork is STUNNING, and I love problem solving games
I really loved HOA. Its cute, relatively short and inexpensive. Its super beautifully made and the story is so cute. You are basically a fairy that gets help from bugs and other small creatures.
So happy Sky got on here. I hope more ppl find it & enjoy the calming nature.
Honestly, Sky is one of my favourite games ever, and I never hear creators talking about it!! It’s so beautiful and new content is constantly coming out every few months.
I found Dorf romantic through you and I just love it! It’s almost zen like playing it but uses just enough of my brain power to not be boring. Thanks!
it's so good!
It's honestly a game that will stay with me for so long, I am so glad I randomly bought it
Watching your videos is always such a cozy and happy place to be.
Oh no! I hadn’t heard that about Unpacking. That makes me so sad!
@@alexmiller4604 That is devastating! I was really hoping for more like it.
Yeah, Sky is the only reason I might mildly regret moving from Switch to Steam. Sky was GREAT. SO chill. So gorgeous.
I've been playing No Man's Sky since the original launch day. And really, it's been a ride. And I still love it.
Cozy needs to be a genre on eshop, nuff said. Thanks for bringing 'Unpacking' to my attention :)
Yaaas wildcard No Man’s Sky! I’m so hooked on this game. Again I appreciate the recommendation! All of these cozy games are so compelling! Great video! 🤗🚩
It's not a typical cozy game, but I love it
Harvestella is my favorite game right now!
Calming games are truly some of my absolute favorites. I needed some new ones! Thank you!!
Beacon Pines is so good! If you loved it, I definitely recommend Jenny LeClue and Oxenfree. Both are available on Switch.
Beacon Pines! Is amazing!! It’s definitely a cozy game but I loved the dark turns.
I am normally as far from a 'cosy game' player as possible - I tend to gravitate towards Soulslikes - but I started Spiritfarer a couple of weeks ago and I am HOOKED. I love it so much, and now I am keen to try more!
Thank you so much for this list! I stopped playing my Switch because there just weren’t any games I was interested in and this help me find some!
Oh yes… you can’t go wrong with Sky: CotL, ever. Cozy, simple and beautiful.
Yesterday I finished Spiritfarer and I couldn't stop sobbing! Such a precious game!
I'm addicted to Disney dreamlight valley!!! I cannot tell you how much I love it.
I grew up playing all the ac games on nintendo ds then switch. And ddlv is up there with ac!
I finally bought Ooblets. It’s adorable.
I just got no mans sky two days ago along with Pokemon scarlet and I love both of them.
omg yaaaas I'm so glad
ugh so happy for how your channel has grown!!! cozy games ftw
Lost Words : beyond the page.
Cozy story like game. Beautiful and calm
I've actually talked about it a few times :) It's my go to before bed!
@@Eeowna Oh no way!!! I guess it's high time for me to watch more of your videos then 🤭
Spiritfarer is a beautiful game that always puts me in my feels and just have a good old cosy time playing
You're so right about potion permit, one of my absolute favorite games i have ever played, really took me by surprise
Thanks so much for your videos!
thank you so much!
Potion Permit was one of my favourite games this year. It was so easy to get hooked
Potion Permit is one of my favorites right now ❤
You had me at "forcing myself to only 10 games" ... best line ever!!
Amazing how many cosy games love a cosy mermaid game
uhh stardew has mermaids I think? hahah
WOODLE TREE ADVENTURES 2 is my absolute favourite go to chill out stress free game.
I spent about 3 pounds on it and play it all the time for my go to cosy game.
My fav cosy game is The Last Campfire!
Spiritfarer def made me cry, another game that got me in the feels was the last campfire. I can't get enough of those games that cause emotional damage haha
So I haven't played video games in almost 30yrs. I just got a Switch and because of you, the first game i bought was Beacon Pines. I LOVE IT!!! thank you
I’m loving Bear & Breakfast right now!! It’s too freaking cute 😭
Nintendo is the best.I love everything about them , grafic, games, phisics everything.
I wish there were a game with graphics like Animal Crossing. I have been playing since 2020. Thanks for the list. Not sure what game I would play beside AC. One that I play that is not cozy is Mario Cart . We need more games that have graphics like these two. 😊
I would say Spiritfarer is my all-time favorite game. It's so special and unique
idk, i just love spiritfarer. everytime i played it it was just addicting and so calming. would def recommend
