My buddy's uncle's cousin told us we could park there 10 years ago, so we just ignored those signs and figured it was still alright to park there.
It never ceases to amaze me how you can park in a no parking area and then be mad and shocked that you were towed.

But they've been parking there for 20 years and they are good business ppl.
I lived in an apartment complex that required you to have stickers (max 2 per apartment) but never enforced it. Apartments had sometimes 6 cars. They also had 75% covered/garage parking and wanted to charge huge premium to park in one. I was pregnant and in 100deg heat was struggling to even park inside the complex midday weekdays. They fully expected me to park a mile down the road and walk groceries back to my apartment in blistering heat and squeeze through gate (since door didnt work) with arms loaded with groceries while trying not to black out. Made me furious when id complain and they would shrug and suggest i rent covered parking. Finally someone told me “well this is private property… just park in handicapped” so i did, and collapsed on couch (again, i cant tolerate heat much anyway but pregnant was rough) and after id cooled off enough to not risk passing out i went to go move my car and bam…. Car gone. Less than an hour. I complained to mgmt and they just shrugged and suggested i rent covered. I was furious.
Learned my lesson that day. Never park anywhere with signs even if they tell you that you can.

This is just a year ago. We’ve been going down there for a long time with a Shriners when they told us that the Margaritaville bought mega campground that we were not allowed to park there anymore so at Rivers Landing, they told us next year you’re not gonna be able to park there when I first started that so she’s wrong they always tell us we cannot park there

I feel sorry for you having to listen to these people vent. When I was in towing, I use to tell people that I feel for you, but I'm just the third party in this. I have the tools, get the call and don't make any of the decisions. When they would get belligerent with me and start cussing, I would inform them that they are speaking with the person that sets the bill and I add on a cursing charge at $25 per cuss word. They shut up really quick and ask me where to come get the vehicle.

It's kind of like when I was younger the owner of an arcade in the that I was raised in had a cuss jar on his counter. You had to put in a dollar every time that he heard you curse

Lesson learned for the trailer owner. Carry proof of ownership for the trailer you are towing.

@@doomman700In NC, you are required to register a trailer with the DMV and pay for a tag. You are issued a tag and registration card for the trailer and for the vehicle towing it.
In most of the northeast you have to register any trailers, so it’s easy peasy
No Parking Anytime! Obviously the sign isn't meant for us, we're good people. I own a shop and know exactly how it works, except when I am concerned, cuz I'm good people. 😆 🤣 😂

I work at the boat docks on Norris here in Campbell county and people are the same way up here. They will have a $100,000 boat, a $80,000 truck and spend $500 plus per night for a lake house rental then try to beat us out of a $25 boat launch fee 🙄

I don't see why people feel the need to give a life story to a tow truck driver. As if it matters what the story is. He did his job and picked it up. Tell the story to someone who can remedy the situation, not a tow driver. All the driver needs to know is that you're coming to pick up your vehicle.

Important if you have a few trailers. Like these people. Place a Number or Letter on the Trailer. then on the insurance and Reg cards Place a Number or Letter on it. So if it gets Towed away, easier to find which Trailer it is. But, also Check where you Park. also Take Picture of all Insurance cards and Reg cards on Phone. So you always have it.
FYI while TN might not have rule about having it Reg or Plates on a Trailer. Other States do have those rules and if you end up taking your Trailer out of State you will have to follow That States Rules/Laws

Hey Jerk that dropped his trailer and it got towed.. He may have backed up to his hitch perfectly but opened the side door right above it but left the wheel chocked.. Going to drive out over that wooden block ???? Perfect guiding the truck hitch under the trailer Lady K !!! My hubby bought a boat and pickup to tow it when I was near 45.. I had to learn and he was not kind in his yelling instructions.. I nearly backed the truck in a lake just out of protesting his Treatment !!! Show em wives can I watch you and Jeff be well oiled team members.. You and he are communicating well no body's feelings are hurt You show a real team working.. Not just two people Doing a task..

Assume you can park in the same place as last year...nope. This was different but entertaining.
I now know if I ever take my boat on a long trip to make sure I have a copy of my trailer bill of sale on me. Hopefully it is in the paperwork the dealership sent me as Alabama doesn’t require trailer registration or tag.

That couple with the huge trailer didn't seem to be mad at EA and I thought they were nice enough to Jeff. I think they were just upset with the situation. Yes, I agree they should have directly checked with the new property owner instead of assuming that things were just the same as they had been in previous years. The signs should have alerted them to a need to check if they didn't know about it before.
Don’t get me wrong. I don’t mind paying a reasonable amount to park, but , I’m not paying 20+ to park to patronize 1 business for an hour or so while spending a hundred or so. That’s why I only drove thru Gatlinburg when I visited the area. Saved my money for businesses that had free parking for their customers.
And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. At least you didn’t assume you could park your stuff on other peoples property then get mad when they get towed.
I agree 💯, I think paying $20 (or more sometimes) to park in completely REDICULOUS, especially if you're only going into 1 or 2 stores...,.BUT on the flip side, $20 can be a complete bargain if you're going to multiple places and not wanting to risk a $250 or more impound to bill.

I will say this when margaritaville was looking for the owners rivers landing said they would contact them they said they contacted them and asked them to move.margaritaville said well we will give them 2-3 hours 830pm we will call and have it towed their front desk said that's perfectly fair and we told them not to park there in the first place and if they do its on there own risk.

I am not security but I was the witness for when the Manger went to talk to rivers landing and the witness on speaker phone with rivers landing and everything autos towing.

It’s real simple.
Each of My Trailers has a Fleet Number on it in multiple places, multiple ways.
First Two digits are Year purchased, next One is sequential, to purchases made that year.
Thus 221 & 222 are Trailers 1 & 2 purchased in 2022.
All paperwork then references that Fleet Number.
Jeff, you uploaded the wrong video, probably a naming convention mistake. This one was from last year.

The folks are more upset about the circumstance and communication issue. I appreciate that they never once blamed you. All their frustrations were directed towards Margaritaville.

Jeff watching the has put a question in my head, (Dangerous Thing) I have 9 trailer none are plated or titled.. so I how could we deal with this situation, For noncommercial use Kentucky requires no plate, so I don't plate any to avoid tax..
Stay out of NY, no tag = tickets
Minnesota issues a sticker you put on the frame rather than a plate for (at least) single axle non-commercial trailers.

The security guard told you as a white trailer though. Maybe you tow the wrong one and then he just went along with it cuz the other one not supposed to be there anyway. He probably told the people with the white trailer twice to move.
Even if they didn’t have a no parking sign you were not staying in Margaritaville. So they really don’t have a pot to piss in.

Get a torsion tool and a wave rake and you can open a master lock faster then with a key.

Kentucky is a no registration trailer also. But I registered mine because I was going out of state. Also, it makes to have trailers stolen and never found.I didn't realize TN was the same. I'm sorry, but it's really stupid in my mind.
WOW !!!! Jeff you must have a really good friend named Jack to be able to put up with that nonsense. No parking means no parking, but some people think that they are special and do what they want to.
Another great video, we get to see what Jeff and Kristen experience everyday. But, I wonder why they didn't contact the manager of Margaritaville to see if it was ok to park it there? (Didn't they say they own a business? They should treat other businesses like they would like to be treated) Seems like that would be the courteous thing to do. Entitled people aren't courteous though. Besides by their body language, the rise and fall of the tone of her voice, and the way they wanted Jeff to know they "know" important people and have an important business, (consistent with being deceptive) I believe the manager of Margaritaville's over them. I see this behavior a lot.
