What a great video about these transformers! Just wanted to rewind the secondary from one of them, so I was searching YT. Your video is what I was looking for. You've learned me how to disassembly it. Very clever. Thank you a lot. Congratulations!
1) If you use your circuit to light a light bulb, the waveform is not important, but surely you know that you are not putting a pure sine wave into that bulb. For powering electronic equipment the matter is quite different. 2) You use a frequency of 35 kHz. How do you know that your transformer has the best efficiency at that frequency? Maybe it has its best efficiency working at another frequency. Have you checked it? 3) Most of the transformers you recover from broken computer power supplies can be used without even touching them. Almost all are rated for 120 Volts on a primary winding with 12 Volts on the secondary. 4) You work very neatly. I liked your video

Nicely done , great . I have rewind the transformer , I always have an issue with tinning the enamel wire , can you share how to , I see you have made a litz wire on the secondary , what is the total wire dimension and number of strands on it , as well as turns
I have tried everything to solder litz wire and ultimately always have to strip every single wire individually and solder them. So I am curious what flux you are using, because mine does not work this way even at the temperature you show. Can you provide a link to and AliExpress listing?
What is the 380V in your secondary voltage? It is already 270Vrms if yours is Vpeak. Where do you leave you have so high voltage? Most country use 230Vrms or 325Vpeak.
Such a great video but i have a question why did you wind the first loop of primary from right to left and the second half in revers from left to right ?
you need to know the material of the core. so for that you need to look at the manufacturers spec sheet. some materials are not made for SMPS transformers, however this core was already used as a transformer so it will be the right material. Most commercial transformers have a saturation flux density at 100C of about 3KG. so using 2000 Gauss (2KG) is conservative, and if there is a current unbalance in the transformer then still the core will not saturate. So that is why 2KG is used. Also the higher the Flux change the higher the core loss due to hysteresis in the material.
