    1) If you use your circuit to light a light bulb, the waveform is not important, but surely you know that you are not putting a pure sine wave into that bulb. For powering electronic equipment the matter is quite different.
    2) You use a frequency of 35 kHz. How do you know that your transformer has the best efficiency at that frequency? Maybe it has its best efficiency working at another frequency. Have you checked it?
    3) Most of the transformers you recover from broken computer power supplies can be used without even touching them. Almost all are rated for 120 Volts on a primary winding with 12 Volts on the secondary.
    4) You work very neatly. I liked your video

    Hello
    This calculation is true for the secondary page wire when dead time = 0. And if the duty cycle is 0.96, then for 12 volts
    12 × 0.96 = 11.76
    Therefore
    (N / 3) = (380 / 11.76)
    N = 129 turns
    Do you think this is the case or not?

    Hello I have questions,
    1- How can learn exact topology for rewind transformer or is it necessary?
    2- How can learn the working frequency for rewind transformer for example you choose 35 Khz, how ? why?
    3- What is atx smps Vinput (vorking voltage) , you know atx smps have 3.3 volt, 12 volt, 5 volt, -12 volt etc.
    Now, what is the input voltage?
    4- And of course wire diameter :)

    • @sandermez3856
      @sandermez3856 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am not that experienced but i will try to help. Others can correct if I get something wrong:
      1-> you can split the windings however you like. You can have multiple coils on the outputs all connected together. So, it can use all the coil and get full voltage or a part of the coil to get say 1/2 or 1/4 of the voltage. It all depends what you use the transformer for.
      In his case, he uses 3 inputs for the primary and 2 for the secondary.
      the primary is 2 coils wound together with a common point in the middle. The reason for this is he is using 2 MOSFETs to generate 2 seperate signals. Since MOSFETs are basically switches, they turn on and off. He obviously has them alternating on and off. The common point on the primary coil is soldered onto the ground or common of the 2 MOSFETs. then, each end to the output of the MOSFETs. He winds one of these coils in reverse. The effect is that one MOSFET turns on and the other is off, generating a voltage. Then, it goes off and the other MOSFET goes on, but since it is backwards the voltage is reversed. Then the cicle repeats. The outcome gives a sine wave. one peaks, then the other peaks but with reversed polarity. so you get AC voltage. Its crude but works!
      You don't need to do this. If you use AC from a wall, it already has a proper sine wave, so you can wind the primary normally, since the voltage already goes forwards and reverse, it is AC-> alternating.
      2-he chose 35kHz because his MOSFETs are being turned on and off at 35kHz frequency, by the frequency generating circuit he has them hooked up too. You can see the chip in the circuit. these chips can make various operations and can be set for frequency. You can use any frequency you want, normally higher frequency makes a more efficient power transfer. The wall has 60Hz (here in USA). This is very slow and that is why pulse transformers are use with circuits like this to transfer power more efficiently. So set the frequency as high as you can, but you will need to get the circuit to do this.
      3- it is my understanding that he is doing the opposite of an SMPS here. in a SMPS you have AC from wall (120V 60Hz here in USA) and you get output of 3.3v, 12v, 5v, etc.... so less voltage. He is using 5v to power his timing circuit and MOFETs with DC. The MOSFETs alternate, outputting 12v but now in AC. then he is stepping up to 380V AC and powering a light bulb. Light bulbs run on AC.
      4-wire diameter: he choses the power output desired for this transformer. For a 500w transformer he requires copper wires that can push 21Amps. copper wire can push a certain amount of amperage depending on it's thickness, 5A per mm squared cross section. So he divides 21 by 5 to get desired copper thickness. is he wants to use thicker copper wires, he can get higher amperage and more power.

    • @PhdHung
      @PhdHung  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks. Yes, you can use EE40. I think it needs 2 + 2 turns for the primary. If you use single strings. It cannot work at too high frequency because of skin effect.

    Friend, I need your help to calculate a transformer that I believe is the ETD49 due to the specifications that I find in the datashett, since he did not bring numbering, I took it out of a burned old inverter, which I apply the formula that appears here in the video, being the It works at 50 kilohertz and it comes out in the primary one turn only and in the secondary it comes out 63 turns the diameter of the inside is 1.67 since the there is round and not square another observation that he is ee49 vertical thanks I hope you help me

      If you use it for 12V. Primary 2 turns + 2 turns. secondary 60 turn (350V)

    • @PhdHung
      @PhdHung  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can pair the two cores together. Or use two separate transformers. Secondary serial connection.
