Must say I really like that you use the campaign and the way you explain everything to us beginners of the game. Subbing so I can follow along this journey.
With pleasure - I do have a few Anno 1800 let's plays on my channel if you haven't watched them yet! And for this one we have 7 episodes live already and many more coming in the following weeks - enjoy!
Hardcore players, play ultimate expert in a vanilla sandbox and build a skyline tower. But I assume playing without the Cape counts too ;) ~ its just, that the campaign islands are very large, same for Manola. But, this will be fun, I am sure!
Will you have time to beauty build? I haven't done the campaign. If you do, one tidbit: houses look great along cliff edges & coastlines. You'll end up with a non-grid when you do this, and that's the idea. Along rivers & the bottoms of the cliffs, forests look great - maybe using some of the national park DLC assets & some bright harvest ornaments & the forest painter?
I know I'm late to the show, but I thought about some things to give vanilla anno a bit of a kick. I can beat the game (killing all a.i's for the "victory" screen) on ultra-expert difficulty (similar to what you have chosen in this campaign) staying on one island, going to 760 artisans, start attacking with 4 ships of the line and ending the game with 12 ships of the line. Takes around 3-6 hours, works every time, gets kinda boring. So: You can take Crown Falls, no defenses on it and are in war with the enemy - this way the enemy can settle on the island for a massive boost. The same for the big Island in New World. This already makes the game harder. Only allowed to use electricity from gas, is another idea. Max export slots per Island for the Harbour DLC limited to 3. No Soap, Gold Watch and Furr Coat selling to Npc's. No use of Town Halls. No use of the mail system. Limit of 3-10 attack ships depending on how far into the game we are, but no more then 10 on all worlds combined. Only allowed to change negative effects of the newspaper (or not at all if you are a mad man). Not allowed to be permanently in war with the a.i.. give the a.i. some hours to breath and get some ships out and conquer some new regions instead of attacking them from the get-go. Not allowed to kill Margaret Hunt before you get an alliance with her. I could go on forever. Those "artificial" challenges made me play the game in so many different ways - maybe you have some Ideas yourself - enjoy, and thank you for your content
Great series, really useful stuff for us console players, totally applicable to all difficulty settings. Great video liked and shared.
I'm glad it's helpful to you, enjoy the rest of the campaign!

Several episodes pre-recorded so don't worry many episodes coming asap!
Great to see another anno 1800 series! Excited to see how you will deal with the various regions to make it less vanilla :)
Thanks for the comment! It's going to be a cool series!
I could have sworn there was a character who spoke in reply to the other characters...

The rush to Crown Falls, is something I do not understand either!
well - when it's available, I guess it's hard to avoid given you know everything will be simple after that
nice new campaign with BP.
yeah BP are a gamechanger to progress quickly actually I've been feeling while recording

Yes Manola is way too big for expert level for sure

Thanks for the advice
I will do some light beauty building I think - some of my stamps for examples have trees and other ornaments

yes you have to put challenges/rules to yourself :) did you see my 'french revolution' series? it's a good example of that
Where can I get your Stamps?
