Was 8 yrs old when Gilbert struck in 1988. Still have the memories of walking in the darkness to go the shelter in the night with my mom and dad after a tree fell into the small house we were living in. It was difficult but we pulled through as a poor country
I was 6 and it was so frightening and exciting at the same time, I remembered we came out when the eye was passing and thought the storm was over, the sky was so clear and blue, it was so amazing, but we’re looking up into the eye, after the storm cams back and was stronger than before. Best days ever

This song captures every striking thing that we experienced; me sweeping water out the house with the broom, stuff you found in the garden the next day, videos and TVs suddenly going down to $60 JA and $120 JA on the black market, $2 dollar beers now costing $10, etc. The song is legendary.
