Exactly what makes us as couponers look bad. Your not entitled to the coupon until you've purchased the item. It's the actions of others who are sadly going to cause paper coupons to end.
I’m 100% with you on this. And it’s this kind of thing that is making it harder on us, as couponers. The fact that the manufacturer put the coupon inside the sealed box means it’s a gift for someone who already bought the product. This is flat out stealing unless they do it how you suggested by buying the first one and rolling the rest. Thanks for the video.

ive said it in other comments im amazed at just how greedy people are. i just cant believe it. shame on them. just shows why paper coupons are not going to be around much longer. but what really bothers me is that new couponers are seeing this and they are going to think its okay to do things like this. so thats a whole nother issue in itself.
Not okay. Same as several TH-cam couponers that have multiple cards when it clearly say one card per household. Same as clearing the shelves because of glitches. Knowing the coupon should not be used for the item that’s it’s attaching to. We can go on and on. Each person has their morals and uses their judgment.
I have never understood the multiple cards. I have a hard enough time keeping up with one. I would have to take my organization to another level to keep it all straight!
my thoughts are I would not open the box to use the coupon. also, I do not think the 1 Free Product coupon they put in there was intended to scan for the gift set it came in. would not be surprised if they stop putting coupons in the gift sets.
It also looks bad going to the register getting 50 gift sets for free I don’t think the manufacturer meant for the coupons to be used on gift sets just a single item just bc it scans doesn’t mean it’s for the product as we all know it also says limit of 2 per trip but ppl using 10 a trip then walking to the car coming back in getting 10 more over n over lol just nuts
Beyond frustrating! The last 2 I found after going to 3 other Walgreens were opened and coupons were gone. And just went to Walmart and was excited I saw about 7 of them but all were opened, no coupon and one had a missing product too 🙃 so annoying.
I just came across your channel. I have been couponing for 40 years, yes since 1982. I have seen all the changes. Opening packages before purchase to remove the coupon is theft and is inexcusable. As others have said, this hurts not just the stores but all couponers who play honestly. I am sure you know that that "extreme" show showed people using coupons illegally, such as on items the coupon was not valid for. Lots of stores stopped doing double coupons during the run of that show. In my area, one store relaxed their chain imposed limit of 20 coupons a day to be doubled and the number of like coupons that could be doubled just for the taping of the show. The store got lots of backlash and issued a public apology. When a new store offering double coupons opened in my area, they had problems with people coming in to attempt to use coupons illegally and would target young cashiers. The store had to bring in older, experienced cashiers from other stores to keep away the scammers. Walmart traditionally has been a difficult store in which to coupon for decades, so I rarely attempt to use a coupon there- not worth the hassle. Within the last year, I had a chain drug store not be able to credit me for a coupon that clearly stated all varieties but would only work on one specific type. Clearly there was a problem in the store's system. You can see from these examples that sometimes it is the consumer who is wrong and other times it is the store. As they say, YMMV, but I always take the high and honest road and it seems you do as well. I just subscribe to your channel and would love to hear your Kroger issue, since that is my store of choice where i now live.
Remember when some companies would print the coupon on the inside of the package. Usually it was cereal boxes, or something like crackers, other snack items. You had to cut the box up with scissors to get the coupon. Its really rare to find items with printed coupons inside now.. if at all.
I couldn't agree more. I picked up two of the old spice at Walgreen's before Christmas. I did open them prior to just to see if the coupons were in them. I was purchasing regardless. My frustration was with pjs. I was at Target to get matching pjs for my daughter and 2 nephew's. Sadly all of the boys pjs were pulled apart from their set of 4. Not a single size had a full set. I was fortunate two of the employees put two different sets (ended up with 3 tops and 1 bottom rather than 2 of each) and marked them down. I was so grateful. I just didn't want to pay for both half sets at the register. I wish people in general would be considerate not just the coupon community.
@@ShoppingwithShana Thats what I thought. It wasn't that all 4 pieces to the set were there for any of the sizes. There were 6-8 on the rack but not one was a full set they were all partials. The girls sets were fine it was just the boys.
Omg a similar thing happened to me when I first started couponing at Target years ago. It was when printable coupons first started being a thing and some people didn't understand and treated you like you were a scammer...I try to be honest and follow all couponing rules so being accused really pushes my buttons lol.
If I'm buying the item and I know the coupon is in there, I would open it and use the coupon. I would NEVER open it and take one if I wasn't buying the product. Imo, it's like opening a pop and drinking some of it before you pay. If you're not comfortable doing it, then don't. This is like people using 3 coupons when the coupon says limit of 2. Every couponer has a line that they won't cross. To each his/her own.
My main issue is opening the product, taking the coupon, and then leaving the damaged product on the shelf. If you are buying the item, it's definitely a Grey area but I don't believe that was the intention of the manufacturer. Otherwise it would be a peelie. I use to get popcorn chicken and let the kids eat it as we shopped and pay for it at the end, so I do get that.
I think it's really generous of any manufacturer to provide coupons and this coupon is exceptional - I also think it's appropriate to purchase the product before you open it end of story. If you don't own the item you have absolutely no business taking anything from the box. This is a great example of the definition of theft.
I couldn't agree more...yes it's theft straight out theft but they think they have done nothing wrong...I know you can't control what others do, but it's not good for the next person bcuz no one wants to purchase an opened box...but yea and they are crazy enough to post it, make videos about it....
That coupon has a monetary value!!!!! So, it is theft!!!! The box states IF you purchase THIS item we will give you a coupon to purchase another AXE product up to (6.50?) whatever value. That coupon is PAPER MONEY so to speak! PEELIES Do not say that. They state When you buy...etc.... Ive been couponing for years and I do not agree with Opening the box and leaving the box there.
I'm very new to this world. And I personally consider this wrong. Even if it's not fraud I consider it theft. I also think it's morally wrong. People floor me in what they consider okay behavior. You are right, I went and got my 2 gift sets I bought at the 50% off sale at Kroger a few weeks ago which were the 3 count and they had the coupons in them.
It is totally wrong to just take the coupon and not buy the product you opened. That would be like taking the coupons out of the Sunday paper and not buying a paper.
I went to walmart yesterday and there were about 10 boxes open🤦🏽♀️ luckily i found some on a top shelf and purchase and today i went to meijer today got 4 free boxes with the coupons i purchased. Yes its so wrong. And its not couponers doing it, its greedy, disrespectful people.

That shiz with Axe happened where I live... So pissed. Also saw a man in line at target returning the ARm and hammer laundry tabs that was giving 10.00 this past week on Swagbucks... Returning items after purchasing and getting all the rebates is a dirty game, please don't... We Want couponing to stay around

Well, it's not fraud, but might be misuse. I can see it from both sides... Some say it's ok as long as you're buying it and say it's like a peelie... You're gonna use the peelie on a product. @@ShoppingwithShana I think you're being very optimistic. 😁. I think paper coupons will be gone within 2 years. The stores are already pushing digital couponing to a large extent... Kinda not fair to the people who can't afford or don't want to own electronics. I just hope that when it's all digital that we'll have 1) more than 1 digital for each product or 2) resets like on ibotta and shopkick. Otherwise, at the drugstores, especially, scenarios will be kinda blah. If it's buy 2 colgate and we have 1 $1 digital, I'm not up for buying 2. I've said before that we're going to be extreme rebaters soon. If you look at Walmart deals lately, you can get your entire haul using only rebates.

Common sense should tell you opening a product and lessening the value of it is not right. I can somewhat understand the thought if you are buying it then what does it matter (although I would NEVER do that). But absolutely no excuse to damage it and then leave it on the shelf.

Rolling is fine. Opening boxes before you bought it is so wrong!. I saw another issue that I thought you were going to talk about. it has to do with a $10 extra care glitch, where the customer is able to get the til to take the $10 off multiple times. To me its just fraud, even if the register lets you do it.

I bought one of these as a gift for my husband for Christmas, then I seen that everyone was getting them by cheating the system 🫤. I have a coupon that I earned by purchasing this a few weeks ago, but won’t be able to get in on a free one because everyone has already bought them out. 😔kind of sucks for the few of us that try to coupon the correct way.
I bought 2 during Kroger's 50% off Gift Sets! I need to open them and get my coupons! Lol! I gave one to my son for Christmas and the other is sitting in my gift closet.

There is some Grey area if you open and then also purchase it, but to damage the product and then not buy it is awful!
This is why I'm excited to hear that the p&g is gone. I'm really hoping that fewer paper coupons will be offered to hopefully equal the playing field.

This used to happen every year with swim suits. Was so happy they started selling the majority as single pieces!

The coupon is part of the product, so this is definitely theft. Might as well be shoplifting. This is the kind of thing that makes couponers look bad.

I completely agree with you, I would not do this! I also don’t believe in the ✨ glitch that some people use. I am happy getting as good of deals as I am even if it’s not always free!

@@ShoppingwithShana Honestly I think it's far worse when people on social media encourage people to commit fraud. A lot of people who are new may think things like this are ok, and can get in trouble and/or mess things up for everyone else.

It's already all over the internet and being encouraged. I am not concerned that more will do it by me and I might be helping new couponers to realize this is not ok.
I bought one of these as a gift for my husband for Christmas, then I seen that everyone was getting them by cheating the system 🫤. I have a coupon that I earned by purchasing this a few weeks ago, but won’t be able to get in on a free one because everyone has already bought them out. 😔kind of sucks for the few of us that try to coupon the correct way.
I bought 2 during Kroger's 50% off Gift Sets! I need to open them and get my coupons! Lol! I gave one to my son for Christmas and the other is sitting in my gift closet.
