I'd get a non-silicone dry lube. If silicone gets on the wood, it could possibly contaminate it, which can cause problems with finishing (paint, varnish, etc).

That is one down side for silicone. Don't want "fish eyes". Thank you for the input!

T-9 or Boeshield are 2 of the best lubricants for anything woodworking. Cleaning, lubricating machines, parts & cast iron.

I have never tried T-9 / Boeshield. Despite being in the aviation industry. Thank you for the suggestion!
