Had fusion of l4-l5 spondylolisthesis with bone graft and hardware 33 years ago. Been suffering with symptoms of neurogenic claudication since 2019. Had a decompression of l2-l3which failed. Symptoms have slowly worsened to point of being quite miserable now. One problem is that the hardware doesn’t allow imaging to really see what’s going on which has prevented me from getting any help.
Hey Richard, so sorry to hear you dealing with all that pain. You are correct about the hardware that it does make it hard for imaging, however you could get a CT myelogram (not an MRI) and that would show more clarity to your particular case. @@spinecenterorthoatlanta I take tramadol which does little! I had a L5 S1 fusion three years ago which left me with horrible pain in the feet. They recommended a perineal nerve release which did nothing! A year ago they fused 4 levels with rods and 8 screws. The pain was primarily in my legs until this surgery, now my back is in constant pain primarily due to sitting!

I had same thing and surgery did nothing for me except made it worse!
So sorry to hear that. What have you been doing since to help alleviate the pain?
