You do not see this tone of Mary in the NT "Queen" etc - When Jesus was told his MOTHER and brothers were outside asking for him he looked around at his followers and said "Who is my mother and brother" etc etc "Those who do the will of my father in heaven are my mother, brothers, etc" - This is some type of adoration and exaltation that isn't found in the NT. She was highly favored, blessed etc which is true - but that's the end of it as far as the contrast between these Catholic's emphesis on her and the NT's.
Sadly Greg isn't given the time the TWO catholics are being given. Very unbalanced distribution of the time. Thankfully what time he is given is substantive.
The CC is so hopelessly corrupt that I can barely listen to this. Mary was blessed to be the chosen vessel; she can't bless people and isn't the queen of heaven. There is NO queen of heaven and the only mediator between The Father and man is Jesus. The synonyms for veneration include adoration and idolization so trying to split hairs over those words doesn't make any sense. The CC is responsible for the unbiblical concepts of limbo and purgatory. Their priests claim to have the ability to drag Jesus down from heaven into their eucharist, in order to sacrifice him over and over again, and they claim that their pope is God's representative on earth. The whole thing disgusts me.
If Jesus is King of heaven and his Mom is the queen mother then it stands to reason that the title queen of heaven is fitting. Go read the Old Testament the Davidic King always names the mother as queen.
@@MrPeach1 Mary isn't the mother of God. God has no mother. She was the human vessel chosen by God to bear the human form of Jesus. She was mightily blessed but she isn't a queen of anything. Matthew 12 46 While He was still talking to the multitudes, behold, His mother and brothers stood outside, seeking to speak with Him. 47 Then one said to Him, “Look, Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, seeking to speak with You.” 48 But He answered and said to the one who told Him, “Who is My mother and who are My brothers?” 49 And He stretched out His hand toward His disciples and said, “Here are My mother and My brothers! 50 For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother.”
@@MrPeach1 No, I'm not. I'm stating the biblical fact that there is only a Holy Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) and there is no queen, no holy mother.
And the belief that anyone is in heaven isn't biblical outside of those who were translated prior the resurrection, is spiritualism. The dead know not anything. There's no way they can intercede.
Well he first has to face off with all the other Protestants that would call him a heretic Catholic Church is the only church it’s the first one study church history
From listening to this debate and various other Protestant v. Catholic engagements, it's apparent that scripture in and of itself, is often insufficient to resolve matters of differing doctrinal interpretations. Although much of the New Testament is perspicuous, there are many theological nuances therein that require careful exegetical work, and even then, if the exegete holds a flawed epistemic model, such will not yield a correct interpretation of scripture. This is precisely why there are multitude of denominations in every American city, because each one is interpreting scripture to their own understanding. How do we overcome this syndrome which more closely resembles Wokeism than Christianity? It seems self-evident that we must return zealously to the Word of God and to Church tradition. If you endeavor to evaluate both of these sacred pillars with intensity and sincerity, you will find a rich, contiguous Church history, a bride of Christ with no uncertain garments.
So you're placing some other authority above Scripture? If so, that can't be good! As for your "each one" claim, that is the common mantra, but can you name even 3 doctrinal differences between any 3 denominations without looking them up? On second thought, go ahead and look them up and we can examine them ourselves or on this thread. What do you say?
Anyone else think that the caller Jeff was the same lady from earlier disguising her voice to ask another question? 😂 I could be wrong but the voice did not sound like a man’s voice
I just don't get how anyone who actually studies the Bible could be a member of the Catholic Church.
Blessed be the Mother of God, Mary most Holy

I can't say "Gerry Matatics" without following it up with "What a wonderful phrase!"
it means no worries
If Mary is the queen mother so is every Christian as Christ said "those who do the will of my father are my brothers and sisters and mother"

Terrible program, let people talk for crying out-loud. Bahnsen thrashed paganism in the little time he was given.

Matatics so rudely kept interrupting. Such off putting rudeness, wow he represents himself so poorly.
No. It was an accurate representation.
