    Perfect timing for this series as I received my"LectriceBike" XP bike two days ago. The design allows for a good range in size of people. I'm 5' 10"+ and there is plenty of adjustment left for someone taller. My niece rode it last night and it easily adjusted to her at 5' 4". Weight of the bike is 59 lb with the battery and about 52 lbs without.
    A big appeal of this bike to me as an RVer is it folds in half. If easily stores in the back of my truck with a camper shell. There is a TH-cam video of it fitting in the rear seat of a sedan car.
    I got the bike for urban use and improved bike trails. It will allow me access to areas a vehicle cannot go and to cover distances to far to walk. The bike has been an absolute blast to ride!

      @@Tatiacha It would be close. I believe they say it works for folks from 5 ft to 6ft 4 inches so you are right at the limit. It would be best to give them a call and get their opinion and some measurements.

    I have a Rover too, and I wanted to let you know that you can use the throttle (on the right handlebar) to take off, so you don't have to pedal without asssistance at any time. There is a button near the throttle to turn it on, and you just twist the throttle when you want to use it.

  • @roseboudreaux4645

    Got my radrover 2 weeks ago. Have 175 miles on it already! you don't have to pedal to get it going, you can simply twist the throttle and then start pedaling.

    • @davidmiracle398
      @davidmiracle398 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I also have a 2019 Rad Rover and also wondered about her comment of not getting going until she pedaled a little...The throttle gets you going instantly. You can even just use the throttle and not pedal at all if you like. The Rad Rover is a great machine from my point of view and well worth the price of $1499 with free shipping in the lower 48 states.

    I had a rad Rover for one year before selling it when I moved. I loved it, but it had the same disadvantages that you have found: large heavy and clumsy, and definitely hard to put on a bike carrier. Rad Power Bikes just came out with a new E bike (I love this company, based in Seattle): RAD RUNNER $1,299. It's based on 20 inch wheels, Wide tires (3+ inches). Check it out. I currently have a class B camper van, and I am able to put a similar folding bike in my van, under the bed. I tried a lot of smaller folding bikes before I decided on the CIVI BIKE. I think the red runner is an excellent choice. I probably would have chosen it, had it been available six months ago. By the way, I have another folding Ebike, that I've had since 2012. This allows me to go riding with someone who doesn't have an ebike. I don't try to convince people to get an E bike, I just let them ride mine. FYI The technology and the price has come a long way since 2012! Unfortunately, current tariffs have raised the prices slightly 🚴🏻.

  • @michaelcolburn1490
    @michaelcolburn1490 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Robin, The RAD bikes do come in different sizes. If Doug uses the 26" RAD Rover, you should consider the RAD Mini. It's 20" fat tires and is foldable. I'm 5'3" and I ordered the Mini this afternoon. I did look at the Lectric online also, but I wanted a more solid off roader. The bikes in China can stay there. You would be at great disadvantage not to be able to read the manual for that bike, even at risk.

    I have the RAD MINNI a much smaller frame and it folds. I like mine and I can hit that little throttle and it will take off by itself without paddling. That’s my only saving grace because I have a bad knee and if I started paddling before I could just hit that Throttle there’s no way I could ride the bike. I do have a question for you what type of system holds the panniers on? I have the rad rack and the piping is too thick for my panniers.....thanks Rādie

    Robin: I read on another site that some of the national parks are banning the use of e-bikes on their trails. Do you keep a non-motorized bike for use in the parks? Have you found other places with restrictions on the use of e-bikes? I hate to invest a lot of money to buy an e-bike and then discover I am not allowed to use it. Thanks for all the research you do and share with all of us.

I've been looking at buying an E-Bike for a year now. Foldable ones. Light, durable, electric! If only those English prime foldable bikes aren't so dear and the wheels were a bit bigger and fatter. So, I'm really interested in what you are going to present. I want something very versatile, stable, light weight, durable., Easy to repair and to transport, with reliable service connections, world wide. Not much, eh? Cheers, Robin.

    Check out the 1Up Bike Racks - they are rated for RV’s. They hold the bicycles by their wheels as opposed to clamping onto the frame. With the brackets holding onto the wheels, it does make it easier to lower an e-bike one wheel at a time without worrying that it will fall off of the rack.

    Be careful with the rear bumper holder, if the e-wheels are to low to the ground, plus if the RV has tenancy for bottoming out, can bend-twist the ebike or break the holder on the bumper. If you are in bumper to bumper traffic, removed the ebike, so not to get breached in rear ended, as Ins carriers will not cover ebike. Defin. keep it clean, so the ebike hubs do not get too much dirt/crime, as can harm the sockets. WEAR HELMET ALL TIMES.
