Because of you, Jamie, Sherpa is probably the most beloved dog on the planet right now. I want to join the millions of prayers that are being sent your way.
@7954astro don't forget his best friend Key and Nook are beloved dogs too. I notice a lot of people keep forgetting about Key and Nook are also beloved
True that. It's just ever since Jamie got the new house for Sherps to enjoy in his senior years, it just really took things to the next level. The peaceful nights they spend outside together around the fire are just absolutely golden.
Yea look at all the dogs with millions of followers. they have female owners. If this owner was a female this dog would have those views too. Its obvious more people follow for the girl and less for the dog.
What about the Shiba Inus in Malta that have a large following. Their owner is male.
Oops, didn't mean to turn this into "Dog Wars", should have just spoken for myself. I watch and love all the pets and owners mentioned, but none have captured my heart quite like Jamie and Sherpa.
And suddenly you realize how much you care about a dog you only know from the internet.
What a shock, poor Jamie. Hugs to both of you!
Right. I'm crying so hard for this man and his best buddy. It's ridiculous and wonderful all at the same time to feel such heartache for 2 souls I've never met in person.
Jamie's made it feel like Sherpa is one of our own. This was so well said!
Right, it makes my heart drop...
Yes but we've been a long for so many life moments, small, large & extremely important & exciting! At least this bit with Horner's seems to be cosmetic rather than life threatening. Feel blessed Jamie...just a bump in the road.💕 Hug Sherpa for all of his globally located fans!!!!💕💕🐶
@@cherylpup8395 It feels like Sherpie is our family too. I didn't watch the full video yet bc I was at work. My dog Prissy I had for 14 years went the the dog ophthalmologist 2+ hours away.
Please Sherpa, don't leave us yet, sweet boy....you are so loved. Jamie, we are with you, all our love for you & Sherpa. 💗
Beautiful Sherpa
Get well Sherpa we love you
I had a very old boy, he lived past 18 years old. It's so hard to watch them grow old. Sending much love to Sherps
Just so you know how much Sherpa means to all of us out here, my husband called out from the living room as soon as he saw the title to this video so that I could pull it up and watch it. I watched it and was immediately googling Horner's to find out more and my husband came in to ask what was up with our Sherpa. Thank goodness it's nothing too bad and even if it stays this way we will just love him all the more.
I shouted out to my wife as well while watching this video. I am honestly glad you ladies are concerned.
💪🙏👍
My husband did the same. Glad it not too serious ❤
Isn't that the truth!
Am glad to hear he is doing good, prayers it goes back to normal soon, he is such a loved boy,
Well, your title almost gave me a heart attack , so glad it turned out to be something painless for Sherpie .... hope he recovers soon. We all adore him and let's praise Jamie for being such a caring and loving Dad!
Same!
No heart attacks for your Sherpa fans, please.
Same
Sherpa needs a ramp, the stairs are difficult at his age. He's so lucky to have a caring human like you in his life and you must know how lucky you are❤
I remember they had a ramp at the old house for going up onto the deck. Poor Sherpa was scared of falling off (believe they tried adding safe guard too?) so he always just used the stairs.
Ramps can be scary for older dogs. My girl always preferred steps. She’d fallen off the ramp once and never forgot that.
I got my senior german shepherd the pet loader folding dog stairs. Due to arthritis in his hind legs and his huge size he cant do ramps or the smaller steps. These particular steps are longer and wider. Yes they are heavy but they do fold and have a carry handle on top. I really couldn't find anything better for my boy
Could never get our beloved Charlie to use a ramp, or stairs. So we went with his inclinations. He left us comfortable, and doing his thing. I sure miss my shadow, he was 15 and feisty! Take care. @@meebzilla
@@meebzilla They also force the dog to put more weight on the hips and or forelegs. Mine always preferred steps but we had to alter them and make the more shallow and the step longer.
Hello guys!!!!
I'm a vet nurse and ironically I had one of my dogs many years ago with Horner syndrome.......I woke up one morning and I saw his left eye completely droopy, it went away by its own in about 3 months.......so I hope and I expect the same for Sherp........I got worry when I didn't listened chat back with you, but then I was so relieved that he did talked to you back in the van 😃😃
I love him so so much and I send him the best of the vibes for healing faster!!! ......♥️♥️♥️
Please keep us posted!!!!
Love from Cleveland Ohio USA 🇺🇸 😍😘🤗♥️🌻🐶
My GSD had Horner's syndrome. Even her pupils were different along with the 'droopy' eye.
Thank you for your hard work, been a shelter volunteer and you lot work and save a lot of animals, cheers!
...Hi Sandy...& ALL of us fellow 'Buckeyes'... *: )* This darling sweet animal has always had such a special place deep in my heart!!!
Congratulations Ohio!!!!!!!! You voted. WE heard you!!!❤❤❤❤
@@warmwomyn What does your comment have to do with Sherpa?
Poor Sherpa. Getting older is not for sissies. I also have a 13 year old husky. Glad it is nothing serious. He is still a beautiful, healthy boy. Chin up Jamie 🙂
I agree I am turning 76 next week. I hurt in places I didnt even know I had.
@nancyjanzen5676. I'm the same, I find muscles I didn't even know I had. I mean where have they been hiding all this time 🤔!
@@nancyjanzen5676 I'm 62 but I can throw my back out getting dressed! 🤣
@@nancyjanzen5676 me too. I am 72 this year of 2023 and I too hurt in places particularly my left hip and shoulders and knees. This last cold spell really did me in. Blessings from Gloria and Bear and my Heavenly crew
@@gloriaannopperman2734 I highly recommended acupuncture, it can work for many aches & pains. It also can be a great help for animals. There are vets who do acupuncture & acupuncturists who work with vets. The most economical way to have acupuncture is at a community acupuncture clinic where you are often treated in a room with others. Community acupuncture clinics are springing up in many different places.
All of us dog owners and dog lovers know that our dogs won't live forever, but we still pray and hope. Sherpa is so loveable and we have seen his whole life so I feel about him as if he was one of my own. I am sure he feels the love of millions of us all over the world.
I'm uncertain about life extension and deaging meds for humans, but I can see them making oceans of money from pet owners wanting a few extra years with their fur babies.
@@mnomadvfx I expect many will but personally I take no medication and nor do my dogs. I think the vets have followed the doctors into monetising pets, all my neighbours are spending hundreds every month on vets, yet my dogs (and I!) are the healthiest. Looking back over a lifetime of border collies, every one wonderful and all so different, I think Dogs are sent to us to teach us how to love unconditionally, how to accept loss, and how to love again with gratitude for the memories. When I die, I hope God will forgive my trespasses and I will see all those beloved dogs again.
@@JohnDavis-ed5sgindeed you will
I was so worried when I saw the title because I join Jamie and all his other friends in loving Sherpa. Thank goodness it was nothing too serious and Sherpa can still enjoy chilling in his garden
Our dog has had this twice. He's 15 years old. He's recovered both times. It has taken 6to 8 weeks each time to return to normal. He'll do fine. 😊
I'm really glad to hear that Sherpa's eye is nothing serious or causing him any discomfort. He's such a sweet dog
Hi Jamie and Sherpa. I've worked in the veterinary field for 10 years, and I've seen many cases of Horners. It's non-painful and is more commonly seen in older dogs. It can come on suddenly, and in many cases, it can resolve on its own; but for some dogs, it may not. When this happens, it means the "sympathetic innervation" to the eye has been affected, and we don't ever really have an answer as to why or what has affected it. Further testing such as lab work, xrays of the head and neck, or an MRI may give answers, or they may not. Whether it resolves or not in Sherpa's case, know that he is not in any discomfort, and he will always be a handsome Lord. ❤
Thanks for the frank information from the vet side. Sometimes vets forget we are owners, not vet techs but we are very capable of understanding a complete explanation!!! Helps us not fret so much!💕🐶
@cherylpup8395 I always like to explain or reassure people. Having anything happen to your pet can be scary or stressful, and understanding the situation better always helps bring some reassurance. Being in the field, I have access to information other than Google, and I'm always happy to help explain any daignosis further if I can.
That is wonderful. The world works better when people stop & help instead of rush and shun concerns
Thank you. I was looking for this kind of reply, hoping someone had a similar experience. But an explanation from a vet is even better. Thanks ❤❤❤
Thanks mate
Jamie's love and care for Sherpa is exemplary. Always heart-warming . Our old dogs become more and more precious as our time with them becomes less.
Absolutely. We love our doggies.
❤🐾
These doggos are just like children to us. When they hurt…we hurt. Hope all is well with Sherpa. He’s such a good boy ❤ 2:38
Not gonna lie, I had a small heart attack at the title, then at how quiet Sherpa seemed! So glad to hear that he should be okay.
I came here just for this before watching the video.
same. I had to skip to the end just to immediately know that he was okay. Heart stopped. Sherpa and Jamie, so much love.
And when you couldn't wake him! I just freaked out.
This old lad is starting to show his age now bless him. Hopefully he’s ok and it’s nothing serious.
We’re all rooting for Sherpie and send lots of love for him.
I cried until I found out he is ok 😭 Sherpa brings me such joy and makes my days so much brighter. ❤️❤️❤️ Get Well Sherpa we Love You here in Tennessee!!!!
I m hoping your little baby is doing as well as possible and all goes well. I just lost my little Brie, Brie Oct 6, 2023. She was a rescue Yorkie. She adopted us when she was 7yrs young. She was 17yrs young. I prayed and prayed to God, St. Rita, St Francis and all the saints in Heaven and they didn’t hear one word I said or help one bit. I had done the same with our other two little boy Yorkies Buster and Bean. No help at all. I’ve quit praying and no longer acknowledge Catholicism. I’ll die an atheist now as I’m done with all their false pretenses.
Me too he’s a amazing dog he makes me smile & mine days brighter too
I'm so glad he's ok - it's so scary when things happen to pets. He's clearly loved! It was funny when you said he's falling apart & listed his ailments, at which point he howled in protest, like "I'm not falling apart, I'm magnificent!"
Dogs get medical quirks, it's part of the aging process. Heck, its part of the living process! Sherpa is a senior man, and we all love him as he moves through the seasons of life. Prayers for safety and enjoyment of the years to come🥰🍀
Oh Jamie, when I read the title of your video, my heart sunk and I got a lump in the back of my throat. Relieved you brought him to the Vet. Happy to hear the Vet doesn't think he had a stroke. Get better Sherpa! I love you! We all do!
❤
Mine too!
@user-li9cr1ff7f Oh my. I think the same thing. My heart is in my throat. I've only just discovered Sherpa and Jamie less than a year ago. But then I see him trotting along when they walk and Sherpa talking to Jamie, then I relax, a bit.
Yes, the title made me start bawling. God bless Sherpa, the best boy ever. I ❤Sherpa.
Oh Jamie. I felt this whole video with my soul, tears in eyes. My shepsky Ragnar is 10.5 now and has serious arthritis, early hip dysplasia, a million allergies. Watching him slow down these last couple of years is KILLING me. But I feel like if I let him see me sad I do him a disservice. Thankfully we found a new medicine, a monthly needle which is giving him back his lust for life the last 3 months or so but. I can see the end. I just want him to reach it with dignity. So yeah. This was a scary watch. Send Sherps all my love from Canada!
This is the hard part, when your best friend is going through changes and all you can do is hold a paw. Sending lots of hugs and positive vibes to you two!
Yes, I rescued a cocker spaniel with Horner's syndrome. It was explained as a nerve issue almost like a stroke or a Bell Palsy. The entire left side of his face drooped. He looked like he had had a stroke. No pain or problems with eating or apparently seeing. It never seemed to bother him. I had him for 8 years, and it never went away. Jamie if that's it, I promise it will bother you more than it bothers him. Take care you 2 wonderful men!! ❤❤❤ Sherpa looks really good compared to how Chuck (my dog) looked. As I mentioned, it affected the entire side of his face.
Have bouts of it myself at times, and it doesn't hurt just looks different to others. 🙏🐺
What a comforting message for us all, Thank you for sharing this ✅👵❤
You're very welcome. Symptoms like that look so scary. I know I was very relieved when told it wasn't painful nor does it cause problems.
I’m worried about Sherpa. I hope all the best for the both of you❣️🍀🍀🍀🍀
Our senior pup is 17, still happy, loving life. Prayer sent.

He's 13 (Jamie has a happy birthday post for him in the community tab) but that's a lot for huskies/malamutes! And still as happy and spry as he's ever been.

Glad Sherpa's eye problem isn't serious. Bless him ❤
Goodness, Jamie, you must have been and still be worried sick about sweet Sherpa. And yet you think about informing us, sharing what's happened almost at once. That's ever so nice of you! And you are such a wonderful dad to the wonderful boy!
Taking care of an elderly dog that you love with your whole heart is truly heartbreaking and so stressful. You never know when something is really serious or when it's just minor aging issues. I remembering crying for months as my elderly GSD declined a couple years ago. My ❤ goes out to you, Jamie.
It's horrible isn't it 😢
@SherpasDay It truly is. I was in the same position. I live alone, and my GSD went everywhere with me, just like you and Sherpa. Just know you're doing the best you can and think how much of a great, spoiled life he has had and, hopefully, will continue to have for a long time.💜
Lost my Shepard last year. No one tells you how awful it can be. X

He's not ok. This is a dying dog.😢
Seen this for long now. How to say it without being mean.
Cannot watch for a long time unfortunatly.
Brave dog keep it together for his owner. But now its over the line imho. He done his job getting his owner a house.😔
Bless them both.
But all that heavy sleeping..he's suffered for a long time.
@@tredjesongen My dog went through all that Sherpa went through. He lived until 16. He slowed down, slept loads etc. but he still lived a good life until he hit 16. Try to think on the positive side as Jamie might read this comment. And no dog parent wants to hear their pet could pass. Think about it!!!
Adding; imagine the pressure on the owner from all the fans then.
He have my support that's for sure.
Think again.
@@tredjesongen He’s got loads of support. And I’m sure he’s aware of Sherpa and his health. Maybe think again and don’t be so tactless aye. Ever heard of karma? Now I know you are after an argument by the look of it, stop mentioning the house etc, as you just sound jealous and petty. I noticed that too. Guess he was happy to be leaving the vets, haha!

Especially since he’s an older dog.
Apply saline solution on it a few times week. It should help. I get a second opinion due to his age. It is always best. There are eye specialist for dogs who do wonders💖🥰
HIS EYE IS EXTREMELY SERIOUS ITEM AND YOU SHOULD NOT TSKE IT LIGHTLY AND GET A SECOND EYE DOCTOR OPINION. GENERAL VET MAY NOT KNOW THE RIGHT ANSWER 💖🥰
My whole church is Praying for Sherpa. He is one of Gods creatures. A very handsome one. Its going to start getting better. You will see. Prayers for you also, i know you have been worried. We all love you both. Bloomfield , Indiana.
I don't know how a world could exist without our beloved Sherpa! Thank goodness he's okay, I love him so much!
The hard part about having pets and loving them is that you usually outlive them. The other side of that is that you can take care of them all of their life and make their life a wonderful experience, which is what you do with Sherpa. Both of you are very lucky you have met.
Glad to hear that he didn’t have a stroke. Hang in there Sherpy!🥰✌🏼🇺🇸
Poor Sherpa- getting old is so tough for everyone. It's nice to see that he still pops up super quick for dinner! lol Bless you two!

My cat (and I) once had a stroke. She was 12, and she lived for 8 more years. Praying for Sherpa and you.
Sending huge amounts of love and hugs Sherps, glad it was nothing more serious - my stomach dropped when I saw the title. Thanks for taking him to the emergency vet Jamie and not only putting your mind at rest but all of ours too. ❤
This is the first time I've been really aware of Sherpa's age, he always seems so vibrant & cheeky. It really hurt my heart to see the difficulty he had with his steps.

My dog had Horner's syndrome, he was 13 years old at the time. Our vet said that normally there is an underlying problem that causes it. I'm a bit surprised your vet didn't mention that. Anyway, extremely happy to see our boy doing well. Prayers to you all. 🙏❤️🙏
Really...I hope Jamie sees this and gets a second opinion.
Not necessarily. My 13 year old has bilateral Horners and the bilateral version (both eyes) is rare and when it occurs is normally indicative of another problem. But his blood results came back fine. In Havok’s case, there’s no underlying problem. Just something happened that affected his sympathetic nerves in his neck. I was told the eye issues would possibly come and go or I’d possibly never see it again.

My dog is a senior now and he got horners syndrome. It honestly scared me and when I took him to the vet they said the same thing, that it will go away on it's own. It's been about 5 months and it has gotten better but his bottom eyelid is still a little droopy. But, it doesn't bother him, we're just extra careful he doesn't go in the dirt 😊
Jamie, you are not alone on this. You have millions praying for Sherpy. Glad you took him to the vet immediately and wish him a speedy & full recovery🙏💖🙏💖
Praying for Sherpa and you so that comfort may be found no matter the prognosis.
Sending loads of prayers to you and Sherpa. We just lost our 15 year old mini Aussie a few months ago and I’m still lost without her. Hopefully, he’ll be good as new in a few days.
I think it's called the nictitating membrane. Cats and dogs have this extra eyelid as a protection. Some breeds are prone to 'prolapse' of this, but that isn't what this is. It's not red or mucky. He's such a happy dog, Jaime. His tail is always up and wagging and his eyes and ears are focused on you and his mouth is so relaxed. He's getting older, but he is living his life to the fullest, thanks to you, and really enjoying it.
Yes, that's what it's called and they (dogs & cats) manage quite well without it.😊
Yep.
Maybe he's just run into something in the garden
Also known as the third eyelid.
It’s horrible seeing our beloved dogs grow old but we love them even more - poor Sherpa - so relieved it’s something that may sort itself out - as you say - always something! Sending lots of love and hugs to you both ❤️🤗
This happens to cats too it’s a temporary thing usually

I am so glad you took our lovely boy to the vet, and doubly glad that it's not too serious. I almost had a stroke myself when I saw the video title. Love to both of you, hugs and prayers.
Poor Sherpie ☹️ Just to reiterate what others have said, love and prayers for Sherpa. Hope that eye gets back to how it was. He’s always still a beautiful boy 😊

Sending prayers for Sherpa! I’m sobbing as I lost my 12 year old puppers , I had since he was 8 weeks old, this past July 😭.
😥 Oh no. I'm so sorry for your loss. Big hug to you Naukana 🤗❤❤
Sorry for your loss.😢
So glad it doesn’t seem to be serious. He looks happy, tail wagging, catching treats with aplomb…. Stay well, Sherpa! Stay well, Jamie! 💕🐾🐾
All my Ángels engaged in risky behaviours after hours or on wknds. My little Kayley picked a fight with a brown snake on a Sunday, & ate a Vicks inhaler on a weeknight. Our local vets & the Emergency Hospital are legends. No matter what, as their hooman, I will always err on the safe side. There’s a lot of things I can live without, but the love, laughter and cuddles aren’t negotiable.
Jamie, you are such a beautiful person. You are Sherp’s best mate, and you are sharing him with all of us. I can only speak for myself & Kayley, but we love that big boofer & you and his extended family always make our day lighter. Be well both of you. ❤❤❤❤❤
He certainly is quiet for such a talkative boy. Dogs are like kids. When they get lethargic and quiet, worry.
Poor howling Sherpa, he actually looked a little scared when he was laying on the grass by the fence 😓🐕
Poor baby, hope all turns out ok.
He probably felt panicked that the ambulance might be coming, or that he would have to go to the vet, he wanted to get outside the fence....
Be ok sweet doggie! ❤
He was sensing Jamie's anxiety
We're all praying Jamie . ❤ 😢 Poor Sherpie. Give him loads of love from all of us. ❤
Sending Sherpa a hug.Jamie really looks after Sherpa so well.❤
Sherps is my distant buddy he knows nothing about. Keep on taking care of him. Let us know if you need anything.
Poor Papa!!!! Hard not to worry but on video doesn't look bad.
Anything dealing with Sherpa is a emergency.
So glad it just take time. I know it is still hard.
We all love the Sherpa!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Wander on Boys!!!!❤😊
Makes you feel sick inside when your puppy isn't right ,but the relief you feel when it turns out to be fine just makes you want to hug them to bits . I reckon Sherpie just wants to be a pirate and wear a patch ❤🐕🐾
❤
I am glad that it is nothing serious. He reminds me of my Goliath, I lost him last year. He was a sweet boy. Give Sherpa a hug for me.
I love how Sherpa loves walking around his huge yard. He is such a handsome fella! Prayers from New Zealand! Love you Sherpa!
