So I've been working on this school project: illustrating several Romantic poems. This particular selection of music really helped me out and inspired me when I was working on Lines by Percy Bysshe Shelly. "That time is dead for ever, child! Drowned, frozen, dead for ever! We look on the past And stare aghast At the spectres wailing, pale and ghast, Of hopes which thou and I beguiled To death on life's dark river."
That would be something!!! :D :D I don't know why but the sound or noise that he maid with his big knife is excelent...Imagine a dark and old hallway...and you start notice this sound!! a dark shadow approaching!!! :D :D
Love the gritty, industrial sounds around 3:00; would love to have more of that (reminds me of a well made, dark DOOM level). Great industrial pics can also be found at Artificial Owl; the site focuses on abandoned man made things/places.

well, I made a big research ...on google and Deviant art... some images I already have them ...but most of this beautiful pictures I found them on Deviant...

Exactly! I have a really sick fascination with Silent Hill, and 2 was the best game. Akira Yakamora (sp?) is a brilliant ambient composer when it comes to setting dark, tense moods.
I'm surprised I haven't seen Nurse With Wound on here. They dominate a good deal of bizarre dark ambient. Especially if you've seen Nurse With Wound's "Bottom Feeder" video.
Download a program called soulseek. I believe you have to make an account, but it's like one of those things where you can connect to different servers and such. It's not too complicated but they have about all of his discography on there.

I found the courage to watch this vid only in the morning or at midday, with a big sun high on sky, because listening this by night will cause me an heartattack. However for sure it's music more exciting and interesting than some extremely boring drone ambient -_-
You sit down, turn off the light close your eyes and not think, just let it flow trough you. Then turn on the light ( if you like ), and you've traveled somewhere while not moving. Free clean trip all the time.

@malonemuert He is indeed; I think of him for concret dark ambient and also for deep ambient, but Lustmord was the most qualify....and for deep I had my doubts, I throw a coin ...and he lost.... Thomas Koner music is mainly "Ambient" music...soft or pasive pieces...and sometimes Minimalistic...
- In some sad way you are right; for example in my country or in the Latin America Community, this music is really bad judged or simply ignored.. Not many people can really apreciate the beauty behind this music... :) Thanks for comment...
I've got a question for anyone with experience with doing this sort of thing: Let's say that I have some video footage that I want to set to some form of ambient music in order to set a VERY SPECIFIC tone for the next scene. One that doesn't fit neatly into any ambient category. How do I: A) Selecting the ideal artist who produces the kind I'm after. B) Selecting the ideal song by said artist without listening to every one of their songs. Is there a way to search for music by tone?
@Djebelmaralis777 You won't gonna find a concret project that plays only insolationism, even LULL don't play exclusively insolationism. You must listen careful, and eventually you will find a song with this feelings. Check Soviet France, Jim O'Rourke, Nijiumu or Seefeel...
Well, anything but just standing passive behind your gear and creating Dark Ambient... So something original that makes it interesting for the audience to watch to...

I listened to these songs while reading "The Divine Comedy" by Dante Alghieri. It really helped me!, Death ambient fits perfect with that book :O
