In this video, we’re taking you to one of the most magnificent destinations in all of Sumatra…the Harau Valley.
We’ll be exploring the valley by bike, spending a night camping, and also visiting a nearby Rumah Gadang.
We’re starting our trip from Bukittinggi, and we’ll be making the 35 km drive to Payakumbuh.
So join us on this chapter of our journey, as we drive our motorbikes from Jakarta to Sabang, across the 6th largest island in the world Sumatra, Indonesia.

I'm an American that grew up in Indonesia for 11 years of my life. My dad worked for an oil company and lived in Rumbai, Pekanbaru, sometimes we spent our time for holiday in Payakumbuh. Watching your videos is bring me right back to that time in the 90s. Beautiful country, I hope one day I can go back. Love your videos keep up the good work.
Chevron has been acquired by Pertamina for years now. I still remember when I was kid many elders encouraged their children to work there someday.
I believe you had beautiful memories and childhood while living in Sumatera. So what's the most things you miss about them?

My father also worked at Rumbai, namely Chevron, which used to be known as Caltex before the changes. Since Chevron was acquired by Pertamina (the national oil company) we have never been in that camp again. what wonderful times there

Kirain saya aja yg mikir kayak gitu. Betah amat TLB di Sumbar! Di Live video yg mereka upload Bulan Juni 2023 saat mereka baru2 datang di Padang, Cheyne bilang kalo first impression nya dg Kota Padang bagus karena beda dari kota2 Sumatra sebelumnya. Bule lumayan banyak dan bahkan ada toko roti. Oiya jika mengikuti TLB di insta story, bbrp minggu yg lalu mereka upload suasana di SUMUT. Tapi gak tahu yak tepatnya di mana, entah di Danau Toba, Sibolga or Sidempuan. Saya sendiri lagi nungguin banget mereka explor Sumut, Riau and Aceh coz saya orang Padang yg curious dg provinsi2 tsb.
