I guess it was ultra sound thingy to check the heart beat sounds.. The doctor had to place machine at the heart area... And yea, he didn't look at all... I really like that female doctor. She did the right thing. This dude he was so focused on "caused by an affair". That's not my business as a doctor. That's her own personal business. I feel like if the doctor has told the family, its violating the patient's right. It seems like there is not enough protection to patient's privacy and confidentiality.

For operation, they have to get family's signature. What if she dies or her condition worsens during the operation? The doctor's reputation will be at stake since she hid the truth from the family. The girl was at fault. I would never ever support such characters.

This is very sad and very painful. I had an atopic pregnancy when I went to the hospital they did an ultrasound they said I had a miscarriage and need to come back two days later. I was bleeding so bad and the pain was getting worse I went back the next day. I pass out in the washroom hospital. They did a second ultrasound and found out it was an atopic pregnancy it break inside of me. The doctor had to operate on me right away. It was the most painfulest experience anyone should ever go through. Never end up getting pregnant again but am happy to be alive.

luckily in real life we have something called doctor-patient confidentiality, the doctor here could have easily quoted that the family would have to ask the daughter to know the diagnosis and then its up to the daughter to tell if she wanted to tell, which here she obvs doesn't.
I think in China surgery needs to be signed off by family. Not something you can decide for yourself
I lived in China. And this is real life. I didn't even have the right to doctor-patient privacy. Other patients would be inside the office while doctor tells whats exams i need to take and diagnosis.
Even if you ask for a comprovative that you've been at a doctor's appointment to justify a work absence they will write down what you were there doing and the diagnosis even if the diagnosis might be wrong, they just need to fill in.
Also your work place appears when you use your social security card and the hospital has the right to inform the employer of your diagnosis if they find relevant.
It's CHINA. There's no such thing as privacy and confidentiality.
@@Sarablueunicorn There are obvious cultural differences here that have made my take on this topic ignorant to China's healthcare sector versus the UK's . From reading your experience with the system I did do my own research on what policy the Chinese Government have put in place to protect citizen's patient privacy and found that the PRC Civil Code, which was made in January 2021, "has a chapter that provides for the protection of personal information, laying the foundation for the enactment of laws such as the Personal Information Protection Law." So there is policy to protect from these situations like the one you experienced, however, sadly it is only in recently policy and I can only imagine how data protection was poorly managed before and also how it is still poorly managed, as Chinese policy is enacting laws that are still in the early phases of being implemented. Breaches of confidentiality are culturally and institutionally woven in to Chinese healthcare as the norm, unlike my initial western-influenced assumption.

We have a few conflicts here.
The male doctor is doing an awful job. Not just because he's male. He's made two issues for himself because he is about to explode from this adultery secret.
We have doctor-patient confidentiality. However, this is life threatening. Once something is life threatening two things override doctor-patient confidentiality. Well, unless you get legal people involved and things notarized making it clear no in-laws are told by those doctors even after death.
Then there is this whole she can't pay for it dilemma. If she can't pay for it and tries to have her mother in-law pay for it then the mother in-law has legal rights to know what she is paying for. Again, legal people and notarizations could be brought in but it's an emergency so she doesn't have time for that.
Because the husband has been told he can blindly pay for it or borrow from his mother and pay medical personally so things are less embarrassing.
Medical scams were a serious problem in Asia for a while. Especially people marrying into family and getting money from the family for unknown medical procedures. Not always was the medical procedure even for the person taking money from in-laws.
I could think of a work around by telling the family there is a growth in one of her tubes. It is life threatening. Because her other tube isn't aflicted she will be able to reproduce in x number months. If the family ask for details about the growth just say your sorry you can't say but leave out the detail you can't legally say because of the patient's request. Then it is true she has a life threatening condition because of a growth which makes it an emergency and as long as the person paying doesn't say they won't pay without details of the growth before hand then they can pay for life threatening surgery that is a growth in her tube. The prrson paying still can demand details though since it is their money. Thanks to conartist.

Yes, that's the right of a family. A grown woman is not alone in this world, she is someone's sister, spouse and daughter.
Her husband is not there hence the in-laws represent him.
The doctors are outsiders and they have to disclose to the family, NOT to other outsiders of course but the family.

In Asian countries, it is the law that the doctor informs the family of the patient's condition, especially in a life threatening issue like this.
"Patient confidentiality" includes the family as well.
Oh, and this is not "moral". The doctor is informing the family of her CONDITION, not "your DIL has cheated on her husband", NO.
It is NOT from a "moral" point of view but a "professional" point of view. You tell the family WHAT is her conditon, not WHAT she has done.

其实作为护士我想说上课的时候有说过一切决定都以病人为中心。
即便有人打电话来自称是家属想要知道病人状况，只要病人清醒着就有权力决定要不要让旁人知道。
所以呢，我们这里如果青少年偷尝禁果怀孕了如果要堕胎是无需父母签字的。病患自己需要经过两个星期的辅导后再做出选择。这些也都不需要通知父母

看了這個片段感覺有點傻眼 可能文化不太一樣 台灣在大醫院看醫生 會診的時候 病人一進去 就是先關門 然後還要鎖門 確保病人的隱私性 除非病人同意 不然連親人都要在門外等著 不會像劇情裡一樣要等病人說關門 然後看診到一半被人闖入這樣😅
台湾受西方影响搞更早更多。大陆现在也在改变，但是传统势力很大，父母长辈更有权力。而且传统上中国人没有隐私概念，还有过去大陆经济条件也没有那么好，别说避开家属，就是病人之间都没有避开，一间大房间里好几个大夫同时看病，病人多时，一个大夫桌前有好几个病人等着。当然这几年已经大大改观了，但是家属陪同可能没办法拒绝，特别是这些年的医闹纠纷，很多病人家属到医院，就是随时准备打仗的。医护人员已经是高危职业了。嗨，这都是邓小平改开的好处。
先關門，還鎖門？我是不是誤會什麼，候診的坐一排在診間內靠門，還能隔著布簾聽到正在看診的病患與醫師對話，這都是我在醫院發生的事。
香港也是這樣，除非是急診，但鎖門的話只會是要做檢查或脫衣服的時候才會鎖。如果醫生是男性的話，不論病人是男女都會叫第三者（通常是女護士）進來，我們俗稱「幫眼」，也就是幫著看醫生或病人會不會做出格的事情。

签字一是全麻状态下患者就没有行为能力了，有意外没法自己选择治疗方案，二是防止某个xxx家属突然冒出来找医院麻烦。
你非要较真说一个无亲无故无业的自己跑来看病了，那还真自己签就行了，最多加签一个承诺书。

The male doctor is wrong, I would have sued him. Their job isn't to judge whether the women were wrong or not for cheating, the doctor's job was to diagnose the patient and made sure she felt as safe and comfortable as she could. The woman was obviously uncomfortable with her family member in the room. They should've been able to identify that and separated them earlier on. also, if she requested a female doctor she should have been provided one since many patients would feel more comfortable talking about their conditions when it's with someone of the same gender. And he shouldn't make any assumptions about her situation or deprive her of any assistance she needs.

The problem is sometimes there isn't enough female doctors, and if she waits she's gonna be in more pain, so no choice, plus many senior doctors are male anyway.
Furthermore its China. There is already a large gender inbalance there-more males than females. Its not surprising there would be more male doctors.

Doctors will not perform operations on patients without their family members’ disapproval. Family members have the right to know the condition. Here the doctor chooses to conceal it for the patient. This is unreasonable, but very humane.

The patient has to have the final decision, the oath taken by doctors are clear, a family member that goes against the patients own best interests does a huge disservice. Too many patients died because of that negligence. Doctors can get sued.

Is that male doctor doesn't know the patient confidentiality in a medical field? And beside that woman is not a teenager anymore she could get a medical care without her in-laws approval. What kind of world are you living in? Why would you need adult permission to receive a medical care when you are an adult? Yes she's a cheater but as a medical person, it is none of your damn business and you take an oath to care for the patient and every person that needs or seek medical help is a patient. It is very interesting with the culture and ethics in this, my training as student nurse is that no matter the relations from the client to their significant, if the patient wants to keep it a secret then so be it as long as the patient is legally an adult.
Even so, she could not have said anything to the patient's relatives, since there is confidentiality between patients and doctor!!

There technically is, it's just that family members are usually nosy enough to prevent that from being carried out. Culture and all that...
Surely all there is to say to the doctor is I do not give you permission to share anything with my family members, if there is doctor patient confidentiality, as if the doctor then said anything they would be liable, even if it is the cultural norm for that not to happen the doctor has to follow the law even if it goes against cultural standards.

Where can I watch this drama? It looks interesting. I would like to watch it. Doctor patience confidenciality should be law everywhere. Medical information should be kept private unless the person in unable to speak for themselves. Unfortunately not the case everywhere.
I haven't seen this yet. I don't know her situation. But I can say I had 3 children. With my second I had regular but light monthly cycle. I had no idea I was pregnant until my 4th month. So not knowing the story I can't judge her. Neither should the doctors. Without an altrasound to confirm how far along she is its not right. Plus it's not the doctors place to judge her. Only treat her medical problems. This is just my personal opinion.
