Thank you for this tutorial. I bought a sorta off brand otf knife at a gun show only because it had a tool steel blade and have grown rather fond of it while your knife is somewhat different the concept was just the same so it gave me confidence to take mine apart an clean the blade slide tracks and get it running smoothly again. Thank you again for helping me get my favorite knife back running again. I’d love to buy you a beer or drink etc as a thank you.
My benchmark mechanism snapped in the exact same place.. no need to change the part i just bent another 90° bend on the existing bit. Seems to work ok 👍🏻. Tip is to heat it a bit 1st if u can.. Vid still helped out thanks.
Hello, Great video! I added small rubber "bumpers" in my knife that I cut from thin rubber bands and glued into place. it worked really well for me. Do you have someplace you recommend for getting replacement parts? Thanks and God Bless
I have a mini one and the blade will not stay out. When I activate it the blade goes out but bounces back in. And when I pull it out to reset it. The blade goes back in fine it just won’t stay out
@@blaineedwards8278 @1:55 its that small metal piece and spring in the main housing in the center of the video. That is what holds the blade open. You can see how I had to push it up to slide blade past it to put knife in the closed position.
@@blaineedwards8278maybe, but if the spring is good then maybe the slider isn't machined right and won't let the blade catch spring out enough to lock the blade, or maybe the blade itself has an issue. Pull the slider out and see it the blade will lock in open and closed positions.
Hello, mine will not spring out, pushing the button up will barely move the blade (has no tension) If I pull the blade out it with my hand it will lock, and it will retract fine. Any idea what's wrong? The blade is also noticably wobbly. Thanks
@@tacticalmerch5191 I feel like if it was the spring it wouldn't retract though. It has good tension when it retracts. Just no tension when it opens. Do you think a tab is broken?
Appreciate someone that knows what they are doing but isn't fascinated with the sound of their own voice😁

Yea I think thats a common failure point for this style otf. Thanks for watching.
Where can I get a new spring assembly to replace my broken spring assembly for this very same otf knife?
Mines been broken for a couple years and I just remembered I still needed to fix it
any ideas for parts?
Thank you man!
Great video!! Thank You!!
I use my tactical knife in the desert so it is prone to get SAND in it. Once I clean it, what lubricant should I use, if any???
I find my otf's work best with no lube. If you feel compelled to oil it I wouldn't go much more than a drop or two
Thanks, I tried to build it for 10 minutes 😆
Where did you find the replacement spring/catches? I have a Renegade Armed force Tactical OTF and can’t find replacement parts ANYWHERE.
I got mine from the manufacturer

Open it up and check the upper blade catch and spring.
@@tacticalmerch5191 I’ve been messing around with it I looked up many different videos. The knife is brand new too

@@tacticalmerch5191 yes ive done that the spring on mine works when I push it, do you think I would need a new spring
