It's not that he cant' it's that his timeline doesn't exist anymore. When Reverse-Flash traveled back to kill Barry one of his ancestors was killed which erased Eobard's existence but because he was already running back in time he was preserved, the Speed Force is a tricky concept, and he is now stuck in the current timeline created by the Regime's actions, so the only future he can go to is one in the newer timeline where the Thawnes basically never existed so his timeline is now beyond his reach.
To the ones wondering why Thawne cannot go back to his time, I'll try to explain. Remember that there are an infinite possible timelines and whenever someone goes back or forward in time, they already alter it creating a new timeline. Timeline 1 - thawne is born T2- thawne goes back to defeat the flash, resulting in one of his ancestors being killed. T3 - As thawne goes back to the future (his present), he goes to a new timeline which is a result of his actions in T2. In this timeline, his present has never existed and he was never born (though he was born in T1 allowing him to somehow exist because of the speedforce) thus, he can never go back to his time because it does not exist anymore. The only way to fix it is to fix his mistakes which is not easy to do and would create a new timeline that if even he succeded, some things would not be the same. Timelines can never "reset", only altered. This is a simple way to put it though it could be elaborated more.
Not true. If we're using the grandfather's paradox theory, technically it would create a branch timeline that with the speed force, should be possible to travel to. Time may flow in one direction, but the theory that there can only be one timeline gets both confirmed and debunked at the same time. Multiverse theory, in a nutshell

This game In one short cutscene understands the flash and reverse flash better than an entire tv series. This also gives a better fight sequence showing off speed and how they can use it in fights way better than the flash show ever did, I always felt like the show never understood how to make two speedsters fight they always tried to add some gimmick that allowed the flash to win or give him help or give him a fucking speed force lightsaber. They never showed a true fight between two speedsters and this once scene from injustice that isn’t even three minutes long was able to do it. Honestly embarrassing

No. First, reverse flash is not vibrating his whole body like in the cw, which was a cool feature in the season 1 villain. Next, they don't do anything interesting in this fight than just show their basic power, super speed. In the cw, they can vibrate, run up walls, and the show provides us in the barry's time where the regular time is slowed down.

Well in the show Barry Allen, is still becoming the flash. As the writers said, the shows are about them becoming green arrow, the flash etc. Around season 6/7 is when they are the pros from the comics, or so I heard.

No. First, reverse flash is not vibrating his whole body like in the cw, which was a cool feature in the season 1 villain. Next, they don't do anything interesting in this fight than just show their basic power, super speed. In the cw, they can vibrate, run up walls, and the show provides us in the barry's time where the regular time is slowed down.
Dennis Urizar the first couple seasons of the flash were phenomenal.
Johnny Colon atleast the game explained it better than the tv show on why Thawne is still alive.

This is why I love the speedsters. The others never know when something happens to the timeline but people like the reverse flash know about time travel and it’s so cool that injustice shouldn’t have existed
one weird thing, the R-flash and the flash will always have the same speed, no matter how hard he practices. even in the different timeline, the reverse flash will match barry in that timeline

Well in the show Barry Allen, is still becoming the flash. As the writers said, the shows are about them becoming green arrow, the flash etc. Around season 6/7 is when they are the pros from the comics, or so I heard.
