It's amazing how complicated a bad professor can make an equation seem. Thank you so much for this. Darcy's Law has been a mystery to me for the past week.
Hi, just wanted to say that these videos on hydraulic head, gradient etc. have helped me loads. Doing a hydrology course at university and we are just going through these topics extremely briefly. You throrough explanations have been a great help to actually understand these concepts. Thank you for making these videos and making them openly accessible
Richa, The total head gradient is measure of the energy lost due to friction from water flowing through the porous media. There will be a pressure head gradient under static conditions, but the total head gradient will be zero when the water is static. Larry
Can you make a video on calculating all of the usual questions but through two and three different porous mediums? Had an assignment on this (horizontally and vertically) and i could use some of your straight talk and clear explanations.....

Thanks, Claire. I am glad you found them helpful.
Thank you for the clear explanations! you've saved me for my groundwater unit!
wow.. so thank you...
sosososo thank you..
your teaching is so so good!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH !!!!! I was looking for this true the books but i couldn't get a point , You just made my studies much easier :))
Thanks for this video, made it easy for me to understand my course better
thank you very much , was very useful , especially differences between manning and Darcy equation
Thanks.I learned this theory in hydraulics which is new to me.
Step by step video solutions for civil engineering questions
awesome video
The change is head is the static head? Or is it due to loss from friction?

Theresa, Do you want to know how to determine average hydraulic conductivity parallel and perpendicular to layers?
Awsm
Thank you very much sir...
What if we don't have the distance?
thanks
