    This is the stupidest argument ever. All of their arguments are extremely biased and based outside of logic.
    First, the idea that a player can only learn basketball in a college setting is ridiculous. All of the benefits that college basketball offers can be achieved elsewhere.
    Second, NBA scouts will seek the best players. Currently, college is the most direct path, domestically, to the NBA, so the top eligible recruits go there to play. What if the to non-eligible recruits went and played in Lavars league? It stands to reason that scouts, who are invested in finding the best talent would be interested.
    Third, fans want to watch the best players. If top recruits went to play at Rucker Park, then fans would flock to Rucker Park. I really could go one destroying the lack of logic in the latest “let’s hate Lavar” campaign.
    Finally, the stupidest most idiotic argument of all is big baller brand is Lonzo’s money. Do Jordan, Kyrie, Lebron, or Kobe own Nike? Big Baller Brand is a company, Yes Lonzo is the flagship athlete, but what does that have to do with BBB? BBB is startup competing in a market dominated by giants. I don’t understand why people would be ok with Nike or UCLA or Nike making money from Lonzo's image but have a problem with his father/ CEO of BBB doing the same thing. Even if BBB doesn’t reach the status of Nike and his league doesn't overtake college sports, why is it a crime to try?
    It’s time to just give the Lavar his credit. He has done a great job. Why do we sit around second-guessing his every move waiting for him to fail? All innovators have made mistakes and miscalculations, Lavar will too.

      Christopher Sloss yeah and they only pick the players that fit their agenda. Look at Kyrie he was basically a high school player cuz he only played 9 games and now he a superstar.

    • @ssminowjohnson9687
      @ssminowjohnson9687 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Christopher Sloss Yes all the benefits College offers can be achieved elsewhere but not academics which is what needs more emphasis on. Going abroad, playing in the G League or playing for "the genius" Lavar's League is great and everything but how many of these kids do you think are really going to pan out?.1%? . How did Hasheem Thabeet workout? How did Anthony Bennett workout? And they were high draft picks too? I don't even think Lonzo siblings are going to make it to the pros. Lonzo as it is has a lot of deficiencies and has a lot to learn. And if it wasn't for all the hype surrounding him he would not have went that high in the draft. He's not even that good. I would take the Fox kid from Kentucky over him any day. So here they are out of the league at the age of 25 and more than likely broke. What do they fall back on as a plan B? Rob a bank because they didn't take academic seriously? Just look up why the USFL crumbled or ask Trump, because he lost billions of dollars in that League. If they're not generating Revenue they are losing huge profit. Running a league isn't as easy as you think it is. It is capital-intensive and there's a lot more that goes into it then Lavar ball running his mouth and selling you guys this pipe dream.

    • @ssminowjohnson9687
      @ssminowjohnson9687 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Christopher Sloss it would be a costly mistake and miscalculation on lavars part. Not only does Lavar not have the money and he would have to borrow it from the bank to finance whatever League he would start up he would be in a deep hole because he doesn't have any collateral. At least when Trump borrowed money from the banks and was hoping to make Returns on it and when it failed he had the casino, properties and other things as collateral

Hes better than a lot of the people he named. So it Anthony Davis. It's not Anthony Davis fault that the pelicans have yet to give him a solid point guard in a point guard driven league.

    The best way to fix this is to get rid of the one and done rule altogether. Let players decide if they want to go to the NBA immediately. Honestly, I think it is important to go to college to work on their game more especially since most of the players who would go to the NBA directly would have been the number 1 option in high school and would become bench players to start their careers in the NBA with a few exceptions. And if NBA teams want to gamble on young players straight from high school, then let them.

    I don't agree with the fact that "we now have a league being filled with Lebron kids". Its more so Kobe they look up to than Lebron. And this isn't to say who's better. But Kobe has been more of this generation's Jordan more than Lebron as far as popularity. Most of the rookies now were young kids and teens when Kobe was dominating. I mean Lebron was dominating too, but he wasn't the clear-cut best player in the world the way he is now. I think the generation of rookies and younger players afterwards (2020's) will cite Lebron as their idol or their "Jordan"

    All it takes is ONE top recruit to set this league off. Imagine if Zion Williamson decides, yanno what.. I’m going to be drafted in the top 10 of the draft when I decide to go anyway, why don’t I just go make a lot of money to just play basketball and not bother going to school? More and more kids will follow him. Lavar is seeing an opportunity and pouncing on it. He has the potential to strike gold

    The NCAA is just fine. You shouldn’t need to college to make the nba though. The problem is, you aren’t gonna get 80 players like Lebron or Kobe that can go straight out of high school for one year, let alone multiple years. NCAA basketball should be used by people who need it. You still shouldn’t have to do it though. It’s unfair for the one guy that could skip college.

    Overall I am a fan of Mr cowherd. I like his theories and his comparisons to real life situations. But wasn't he the one who said (I think about Sam darnold coming out of college or staying for a year), that he absolutely should go pro because of better coaches and better competition? Why doesn't this rule apply to one and done college players like the Kentucky guys? He's tripping himself.

    I agree with Doug's points about college, but to say that LaVar Ball "has never truly run a business" is blasphemous and inconsiderate. Regardless of your preferences, BBB is a successful business - just take a look at the revenues and financial forecasts.
    If LaVar is one thing, he's a fantastic businessman.

    It’s not like those kids can’t go to college. Everyone is making money on those kids from sponsors to educational institutions (HS, College) to sport channels (Fs1 ESPN) and your right not all of them make it to the league. So why not make money? Who says they still can’t go to college?

  • @jayleejay
    @jayleejay 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I believe this could work. And with some support from anonymous donors, they could circumvent the media conglomerates like fox and ESPN, by doing what they did with their a reality show, using Facebook's platform. Granted, the idea needs to be flushed out, but that could be easily done.
    And the reason the NCAA has so many success stories is because it's the only game in town for the average basketball player. Who gets nothing for the millions he or she makes for the organization. It is an unfair and broken system that needs to be challenged.

    • @ssminowjohnson9687

Trump went bankrupt with that mentality.(No pun intended) that is just greed. And greedy people usually end up paying the price. Stuff always comes back and bites them in behind

      Mike’s Music Reviews At least he took a chance something a lot of people never do. Didn't Yoda just say "Failure is the greatest teacher". You have to take risks. You should be inspired to do the same instead of hoping for someone's failure.

    • @mikerivera373
      @mikerivera373 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Vince Argon watching failure alone isn’t entertaining. It’s how spectacular the train wreck is that makes it entertaining. It’s like non-Browns fans watching the Browns to get a good laugh. And what’s more, if he tried this, not only would his failure be spectacular, it would also highlight to young men why we have college basketball and why that’s the best thing they could possibly hope for.

    • @mikerivera373
      @mikerivera373 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      manansis86 there’s a difference between taking risks and making stupid decisions. If I tried to run for President, assuming I had been in politics for a while and had at least a few connections,that would be a risk. If I wanted to become an NBA player, keeping in mind I’ve never played organized basketball in my life and I’m 5’7” and 145 pounds, that wouldn’t be a risk, that would just be stupid, because no matter how hard I worked, it would be a failure with absolutely no chance of success. It’s a matter of whether success is possible. And the idea put out by Lavar Ball is a failure waiting to happen that is built on the idea that college isn’t working (an incredibly moronic idea).
