i apologize on the behalf of those overreacting fans on the kpop label. as XG is getting more popular, i do notice there are more "fans" that are getting bit too extreme and oversensitive on a certain things, the kpop label is one of them. i think one of the major reasons is because XG's high quality productions aren't recognized as much in the kpop field as they are in the global market, as their unique styles are less acceptable in kpop beauty standards, alot of fans really want to distinct XG from kpop, which some consider "manufactured fast food music". Plus given how much scandals, messes and hates that has been going on around kpop groups for every little thing they do. some XG fans just want to stay away and started being overreactive. i promise you majority of the Alphaz (Xg fandom name) are not as extreme and sensitive, and are just a bunch of ppl who enjoy high quality music and recognize true talents.

Those very extreme fans are the same ones that push new fans away from liking groups, without even noticing that they’re doing the artist’s more damage then they are good.
Don't take it to heart, a lot of fans are insanely aggressive. Calling it kpop isn't wrong in itself, even if they are much more global than many other groups. They are based and promote from South Korea, they are on shows promoting with any other kpop idol group. Yes, they are japanese and mainly sing in English and are more loved outside of South Korea but it doesn't change the other fact :)

The metal to kpop pipeline goes HARD! XG are amazing performers, theyre a japanese group who promote their music in Korea singing in english! I was lucky enough to see them live in concert earlier this year and they are just as powerful live as they are in their music videos! Admittedly Woke Up is very different to their other songs stylistically, but definitely check out more of their music, its so vibey!
No there is definitely something to that pipeline for sure! saw Ice Nine Kills and Ateez the same week couple years ago. They went equally as hard. Ateez wasn’t as bloody, but they made up for it in pirates. Can never have enough pirates imo.

I knew when I saw the debut that these ladies are the future of Entertainment. They are a Dance Troupe first and everything else happens afterward. The Group Leader, Jurin, is their Main Dancer; that should give you some idea of the direction. She was actually a Pro- (or as some have said, semi-pro) Snowboarder and Model.

That series is all about how they were formed and what they went through during training. Some of that...serious tears warning. It's HARD work and there were more than just seven trainees; they dropped people as they progressed and some of those losses are heart-wrenching because they knew each other so well.

There is no reason for anyone to get upset if XG is mentioned or showcased as K-Pop as they do promote within K-pop as J-pop Global (X-pop) girl group. They certainly are the best girl group out there. They have a variety of genres, one of the most versatile groups that exist. All of them can rap, all can sing really well and all are phenomenal dancers. I've been paying attention to them since before their debut. Which song, Tapes (Xypher), Vox to listen? Any really. K-pop also goes well with Metal and Rock fans. Many do listen or secretly listen to K-pop. I'm one of those since 2016. Dreamcatcher, for example, have a lot of Rock elements in their songs. Now that you are getting into K-pop, Boy groups are cool, but K-pop is dominated by Girl groups, at least at the moment. Another rabbit hole you might get into is J-Rock and J-Metal scene (Japanese). They have some, if not the best bands that exist right now, and yes, many are all female bands. Enjoy your journey :)
not k-pop related but i highly recommend The Gazette! they’re a v-kei japanese rock band, unfortunately Reita (the bassist) passed away in April this year :(, but the band has said they’ll continue on. as for songs, personally i recommend Shiver or Dogma😆

Help you with the names (and a few facts)
The 1st girl (red hair) is Jurin she's the leader
The 2nd girl (black hair) is Harvey
She became my bias bcuz of her voice (I've been stanning them for a month or 2 now)
The 3rd girl (Orange hair) is Chisa she is one of the vocalists
The 4th girl (Blue Hair) is Maya she is the 2nd to youngest member of Xg she is one of the rappers
The 5th girl (shaved head) is Cocona the youngest member and also a rapper
Her voice is just kind of "calming" and airy if that makes sense-
The 6th girl (Sky blue hair) is Hinata she is the one singing the choruses in woke up
And lastly the 7th girl (Nude/dirty blonde hair) that's Juria
She is also a vocalist she's one of my favs bcuz of her voice is so addicting!!! Btw she's the girl who fused with Hinata in the "everything everywhere all at pnce all the time all around the world" part after the chorus
I also recommend you to listen to their other singles like GRL GVNG (the mv is just short you can listen to the full song in Spotify tho)

There is no reason for anyone to get upset if XG is mentioned or showcased as K-Pop as they do promote within K-pop as J-pop Global (X-pop) girl group. They certainly are the best girl group out there. They have a variety of genres, one of the most versatile groups that exist. All of them can rap, all can sing really well and all are phenomenal dancers. I've been paying attention to them since before their debut. Which song, Tapes (Xypher), Vox to listen? Any really.
K-pop also goes well with Metal and Rock fans. Many do listen or secretly listen to K-pop. I'm one of those since 2016. Dreamcatcher, for example, have a lot of Rock elements in their songs.
Now that you are getting into K-pop, Boy groups are cool, but K-pop is dominated by Girl groups, at least at the moment.
Another rabbit hole you might get into is J-Rock and J-Metal scene (Japanese). They have some, if not the best bands that exist right now, and yes, many are all female bands. Enjoy your journey :)
XG are the most talented girl group right now.

not k-pop related but i highly recommend The Gazette! they’re a v-kei japanese rock band, unfortunately Reita (the bassist) passed away in April this year :(, but the band has said they’ll continue on. as for songs, personally i recommend Shiver or Dogma😆
