Katrina here, that area is a FIRE BAN 1ST SEPT THROUGH TO 1ST MARCH if too and no wet they will extend it a month either side. Lived other side of Mudgee for yrs , not now though .
Hi Katrina, The ranger came around to update campers every day. It is fire season in those dates, but not always a total ban as that is decided by the weather at the time. The ranger was very nice, and was apologetic that the ban went for the whole time we were there. It is not usual to have total fire bans for more than a day or so at this time of year. As we said, we always abide by the rules, it is too important. 😀

Every time I have camped there get visited by Wombats and Quolls great canoeing on the lake. So peaceful
