Kevin I also like southern NH best. Bought a home in Peterborough a year ago this month. For retirement. Most Floridians think I’m nuts but we moved down from CT to FL in 94 and I lost my wife on Thanksgiving 2020. New England is still where my heart and all of my family and friends are. Being alone after almost 35 years of marriage is hard without a support system of family and close friends. I will be up in June and I can’t wait. I absolutely love NH and all that it offers.
Yeah, they tend to have a Mass/ Southern NH bias in this list. They completely ignored the Capital Region and Lakes Region. This list is for people looking for Mass-lite towns. If you want to get the NH feel I would recommend Wolfeboro, Meredith or Gilford in the Lakes Region and Bow, Hopkinton, and Pembroke in the Capital Region. Good, locally controlled, smaller school systems in those towns. The Lakes Region benefits from low taxes due to the large number of 2nd homes around the big lake. Bow and Pembroke sit near the Route 89/93 intersection so commuting is pretty easy. If you're looking for a lower priced town, try some of the smaller surrounding towns to these places. For an extra 15 minute commute, you can drop the housing prices by an extra 100k. Chichester and Alton are good examples of this. Watch out for towns that are small, old mill towns like Pittsfield, Milton, Franklin, and Claremont. While they are trying to recover, they are shells of their old selves and have old crumbling schools and buildings and tax bases that can't support massive improvements and repairs. High Taxes and Poor Schools make for a tough combination for young families. Of course you have some money and can do private school, they can make for a nice investment as real estate prices are low.
Good information. Yes, New Hampshire has many many great areas. Unfortunately, we cannot cover the entire state in 1 video. We do have several other videos that cover other areas and are continuing to make more. We will take some of the feedback from your comment for future town and area spotlights. Thank you for watching.
They also seem to have a bias for the most expensive places to live in New Hampshire. There are a lot of some great places to live in NH where you won't have to spend a half million or more for a house.
Gonna add Henniker as a great place to visit in the summer. The Contookook river and the covered bridge are new england perfection. Stay away during the school year though. 😂
in Hudson now. My issue is the home prices in the southern area are absolutely outrages. Been trying to save for awhile now and it just keeps getting tougher.
The best thing about being in New Hampshire is, it’s not Maine Massachusetts or Vermont. So being near any of those states is not important to me. Remember, New Hampshire has great skiing.
A fine list, but... there are so many great places/towns to live in NH. The real key is knowing what you want. The list misses a lot of areas because a lot of the towns (ex Bedford/Amherst and Hanover/Lebanon) are essentially right next to each other. I live in southwestern NH and wake every morning to a mountain and a lake, but can get to Boston or the sea coast in 90 minutes. I wouldn't trade where I live for any of the towns on the list - even though they are great towns.
You’re mostly given information for families, but some of us are individuals. I also need to be in a place I can commute to Boston Logan airport easily by train, so I don’t have to stress and take the car everywhere. I took the train, called down Easter, the Amtrak from Boston to mean one time and that was very convenient, although a bit slow but I don’t mind that And yes, I know the train doesn’t go directly to the airport. . Would you tell about some nice towns that fit a commute by train toward Boston and also some Seaside towns that are easy to reach please.
The Amtrak train goes right through and stops in Exeter. But if I had to commute to Boston I would live near Boston unless you are talking about only commuting once a month. Those home prices looked very high to me . I wonder what you get for almost 700k . The property taxes in NH are high . No sales tax , big deal . Hampton is eight miles from Exeter , its sort of a honky tonk beach , hasn't changed much from the 70's , York Beach in Maine is 30 miles away . It gets crowded on weekends in Summer Time but Long and Short Sands are nice , you want to be there when the tide is out. Towns near Boston , Medford , Malden , Woburn , Wilmington , Billerica . All have T stations
Lived in Exeter for 20+ years I assume the schools are good but have no kids, so I don't know. I had an old mobile home but bought a real house in Plaistow. Still in Nh.
I live in Keene New Hampshire. I love the state of New Hampshire. It's beautiful and clean and I'm very happy to live here. I loved Keene before I moved here. I would come and do all my shopping and just stroll around, taking the environment. Since they've built a second huge homeless shelter it has become very dangerous to go out at night, you hear police sirens all throughout the day, people begging on the streets for money. I can't even go down the hiking trails or the park by myself because it's become too dangerous. More and more you hear of people being dragged into the woods and unspeakable things being done to them. They don't care if you're a man or a woman that will rob you beat you and do terrible things to you😢
I lived in Exeter for more than 20 years and am in Plaistow now. I have to say your home prices seem high to me. Like you gave us the top instead of the avg. price. I don't have any figures they just sounded high to me. It could be a new construction price I do see a lot of bigger houses being built.
Property Tax is the biggest factor in the towns mentioned. If the schools are highly rated, they need to get their money from businesses and residences. This can result in very high property tax rates for homeowners which drives a wedge between people on both sides of the debate. There is no perfect place to live!
I left New Hampshire couldn’t afford living there They nail me big time on property taxes Glad I left that state never mind the ticks in the woods people getting Lyme disease.👎👎👎
Did the prices on these homes are absolutely ridiculous I mean 800,000 on an average cost in a town $666,000 average cost in a town I mean where do people even get money to even work to even pay for that. Just makes people more and more poor in that state
I’m not sure who you are getting postcards from, but it is certainly not us. We don’t blanket send postcards to areas asking people to sell…..never have and never will. We try to provide valuable information for people that may be thinking about relocating to our beautiful state
It's pronounced Wind-HAM ~ not WIND'm. Otherwise, this AD is so Wonderbread, it makes me wanna hurl chunks. So shiny & squeaky clean you come across as superficial. Put some Multi-Grain grit into your next AD. 🤔🤐

I agree, I love southern NH. My perfect location is a near Keene.
Agree…and the taxes are way better than Ct.
They may be the best but they are also very expensive.

@@rctedford They are realtors & this is an ad. Study up 4 quiz on Friday. 😉

Henniker is a great little town
Home prices are ridiculous. I was born and raised in NH. I love the area but it is way to expensive for what you get.
May family had a chance to buy a falling down house with 100A's for $2,500. That was 65 yrs ago.
in Hudson now. My issue is the home prices in the southern area are absolutely outrages. Been trying to save for awhile now and it just keeps getting tougher.
Affordability is definitely a challenge for many. Consider a multi family as your first home. Let the tenants help pay the mortgage.
Bidenomics
Suggestion…show the towns on a map.
What are your thoughts on Grantham NH?
Grow up in various place in NH love it. Though it has since southern NH has become a suburb of places in Massachusetts.
The best thing about being in New Hampshire is, it’s not Maine Massachusetts or Vermont. So being near any of those states is not important to me. Remember, New Hampshire has great skiing.
Pls do the same thing with medium price under $500,000.

Which towns would you recommend? Thanks
I agree, which towns would you recommend? Visiting next year
Henniker is beautiful and tiny. Only one in the world, so they say.
It would have been informative to include property tax rate for all the towns you mentioned.
On Golden Pond. That's for me.

Lots great information ..I currently live in Merrimack nh but work in ma I love NH life and ma is so busy and congested.
southern New Hampshire is called north taxachusetts for a good reason . It is NOT affordable !
Nice to see Madbury make your list 👍
Hahahah hahaha hahaha
Will be attending the Brookline Gun Show in 2 weeks.
Hi 🙂 ! ThnQ for this Video 😊. I enjoyed it. Where does Sullivan County, NH fall in this mix (Unity, Claremont)??????
Claremont is staging a comeback!
@@acousticshadow4032Claremont has made huge strides versus what it was 30 years ago. Newport is nice too. It’s a great area.
North Conway????
Are there any new communities ready for custom builds in Southern New Hampshire?
What about Exeter?
Exeter is another amazing little town. It was hard to choose just 10. But Exeter is one of my personal favorites.
Exeter is pretentious. I have lived there and Kingston among other towns in NH. I much prefer Kingston.
Lived in Exeter for 20+ years I assume the schools are good but have no kids, so I don't know. I had an old mobile home but bought a real house in Plaistow. Still in Nh.
I love how they mention crime when NH is one of the safest states in America with super super low crime rates state wide
Wow you didn't mention Hampton Beach or Rye. Now that is getting expensive.
Damn. NH is $$$$$. Guess we are moving to TN;)
There are a lot of towns that are nowhere near as expensive as the ten towns listed.

Just here for Danielle's accent 😊
What about the rest of the state?
What bridge? What border?
The border of the state of Maine I think they’re talking about between Maine and New Hampshire

What about coos county
well,very gracious.....
How can families afford these homes in these towns???
DITTOS!
Lots of transplants from NY, CT, MA, and other places with much higher incomes than NH. COVID and WFH nuked the housing market here.
its all generational wealth ..family money , most parent give the kids a couple of hundred 1000 to start
I left New Hampshire couldn’t afford living there They nail me big time on property taxes Glad I left that state never mind the ticks in the woods people getting Lyme disease.👎👎👎
I meant to write New Hampsha,I can spell if my unit didn’ have a mind of it’s own.
Best places are almost hitting 1000000. Dollars. Sounds cheap. 😂❤
We can make a video of 10 Cheapest towns to live in
There is nothing affordable for the middle class. Rents are high too. Only thing affordable are marginal neighborhoods in Nashua or Manchester.
Probably would be best to say New Hampshire like a native, New Hampshire. Lebanon is far into the boonies.
sounds expensive...
she sounds like she from lowell MASS
Not Lowell, but is originally from another town in MA
The area code on her phone number signaled that out

Real estate too high in NH
These two aren`t honest enough to tell you that they`re realtors. I`ve received their postcards encouraging me to sell my family home of fifty years.

Hello guys. How do you feel about living in Carroll?
too expensive
if your from mass and bringing your democratic vote with you, STAY PUT !!!
Move to Florida instead help us make marijuana legal
It’s not legal in NH either, but it is in the 3 states that border us. Republicans here fight it tooth and nail. I doubt it’ll happen in FLA.

New Hampshire is awful. Stay where you are.
What’s awful about it?
what is wrong with having 95% white people
