- Absence seizure is seen in school going age children 4-10yrs of age. It is more commonly seen in girls. Children suddenly stops all activity and looks as if he/she is staring or just looks blank. It usually lasts 5 to 20seconds. EEG is diagnostic as it shows typical 3Hz spike and wave pattern. Correct identification will give complete seizure freedom with right choice of medicine.

I am Mohan Limbu from Nepal currently staying in Kolkata.
My baby aged 13 months only. She had her first seizure at 4 month. Till the date She had more than 15 episodes of seizure. Sometimes less than 5 minutes, othertimes more than 1to 2 hours. She is diagnosed " Dravert's Syndrome with status epilepticus. Doctor has prescribed medicines as Levipil, Valporin, Lacosom, Cannepsy, Kidwise sachet for my daughter. But still she got repetition last week. So, please doctor how to control her epilepsy? Are there any other better treatment? We want to meet you doctor and get an appointment please.
