Your videos are like therapy for me. I don't tie my own flies but I enjoy fly fishing. Watching you work your magic is mesmerizing :D

Hey Mate. Super Emerger pattern. Just tied six but used brown olive body and gray wing. Really sexy loiking LOL. Will send you a photo. This one will be a fish catcher Davie. Thanks Mate for sharing. As always best to you and family.

Love your emergers Davie, realistic and very functional. Lol, even the "lucky leg" ones! You always should have a spare! Thanks Davie, that was great.👍😂

Hi Davie. Could you substitute the deer hair for squirrel tail fur? Or would it not fish correctly? Some foam hidden in the thorax to keep the buoyancy?

    • @DavieMcPhail
      @DavieMcPhail  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Scott,
Squirrel is an excellent hair for dries as there's quite a few patterns out there that work great so definitely tye a few up using it as it would work just as well....
      All the very best Davie..

Great looking dry fly mate. Was just wondering if it would hurt to put a light coat of uv resin on the abdomen to help protect it. I’ve also use a lot of your patterns you have shared with us all. Thank you so very much my friend and looking forward to seeing more from the Master. Best Regards Ken

      Hi Ken,
Yes giving the body a light coat of varnish or resin will not do it any harm as I will do this from to time as it can help lift the colour of the quill body...I'm glad you liked the fly...
      All the very best Davie..

      Hi Graig,
I have a bottle on my desk which sits with the lid rarely closed and it lasts me for a good month or two until it starts to thicken or it runs out...It will last far longer if the lid was closed and I've been told if you store it in the fridge it will last even longer..
      All the very best Davie..

      Hi Alex,
The B100 would be a good hook for this fly...ATB Davie..

      Hello Davie,
This sunday I've tried some of such flies. Grayling comes crazy for a grey variant fished as a dry fly. I've tied some flies on Kamasan B170 and some on Tiemco 200R. The last of them was more successful.
Thanks again for a great idea!
