Interesting! Being a Railfan, I have been talking about going over to ride the Strasburg railroad for a year or so. Now we have another reason to drive over there, as well as a place to stay. Thanks for the great info.

Absolutely loved this place! Being a Railroad brat (Dad worked/retired for/from Norfolk Southern) Traveled on the train many times back in the day. I’d really like to stay here someday. ❤️. Thanks again for great content!!

My kids love this place, and it has given us memories to last a lifetime but last summer it was almost $250 per night yikes. We will never spend that kind of money again when we just stay in Lancaster Red Roof Inn for $60 per night. A really cute place for kids and so close Strasburg railroad station have to do it at least once.
Such a cool place, I would love to be able to stay in a caboose and that dining car was awesome 💕🚂

Use to be able to stay in caboose at Chattanooga train station, not sure if you still can.
Come to Amish country in ohio! I grew up in Sugarcreek. We’ve got a little inn that has a couple train cars you can sleep in too :)

Start carrying swim earbuds with u on trips. It would help greatly with inconsiderate noisy people. My husband snores but I can't hear him anymore. Try it.😊❤

this is John Chalker Waterbury Connecticut Yankee in the south I loved your video where you guys slept in a caboose had breakfast in a dining real dining car and it looked like he was a real comfortable space and even had refrigerator and a TV so if you wanted to watch a movie it was cool love you very much love you guys as well but I have a little thing what happened to the Jeep the yellow Jeep CC 🙏🙏👼👼

Loved the Vid. But I must add a few things...... ( #1 )First off They DO NOT Clean the rooms everyday. So ( IF) your staying for more than one day. You might want to consider that. We stayed there last week for 3 days. "July 2022". And they told us that " Due to Covid they do NOT come in and clean the rooms, UNTIL you check out." So if you have a family staying in one of theses. Just a heads up. ( PS.... I never heard of any hotel not cleaning the rooms everyday) And I have been traveling all over this country 40 states to be exact. And have NEVER heard of such a thing. And with covid......You would think they would be Cleaning MORE!! (#2 ) The Caboose we stayed in Smelled Terrible. (#3) When we told them , they said You might want to keep the door open a bit. REALLY!!! (#4) There were Gnats crawling all over the walls, bed and bathroom. ( And this was a Newly renovated Caboose)

The caboose was actually the home for the train crew …for sleeping, eating and resting. The high area where the windows and ceiling fan are there was seats to set and watch the train going on it’s way.

I can’t, for the life of me, figure out why people are so inconsiderate in a hotel/motel or caboose. People talking out loud, slamming doors, kids screaming and running up and down halls. Is no one taught decorum anymore?!🤷♀️

Never have understood something’s in life, especially being courteous! We always taught our children remember your neighbors in a hotel/motel may like to sleep in so when walking (not running down the halls) don’t be talking loud and especially shut your door quietly out of respect of everyone. Now, our grandchildren are taught this..
pastor Dan told us about the Red Caboose Motel but I did not realize it was many Cabooses that's so cool and all the stuff there plus the breakfast spot are all cool even the Amish driving by, thanks for sharing, I will put this on my bucket list
I worked for the Norfolk &Western in Roanoke Va. in the early 70s. It was interesting to learn about how N& W built steam engines and passenger cars and gondolas in its east end shops. I was part of maintenance of way and was a carpenter in Roanoke Terminal…….we were responsible for the company buildings maintenance and repair.

The skunk train is in Northern California and runs through the giant redwoods. It’s a beautiful called it the skunk train because of the foul smelling smoke etc, I think.

My hubby and I have stayed there also. Nice. The food at the restaurant was filling. And next to the Strasburg Rail Road.

The Strasburg Railroad is cool. It’s not a long ride but it’s beautiful. The Railroad Museum across the street is awesome too. If you didn’t get to do either of those, add it to your list for next time.

The real Casey Jones Village and museum is in Jackson TN. His home and train are there. I was there some years ago no motel but aa nice country restaurant

we stayed there about 15 years ago did not like it but there wasnt many caboose when we were there
That was before the present owners the Prickett Family bought it and took it over. They have really upgraded the property and spent alot of money remodeling it. You should go back and see it now. It is very beautiful

Soooo much nostalgic fun .l grew up living near a railroad track. Our house would shake when the big locomotives would go by
.Day and night .Often we would get tickets to ride it to Lapeer Mich. And spend the day shopping .

Stayed in the Union Pacific Caboose about 2 years ago. Very comfortable stay. Would stay here again. Saw that same cat.

Loved this video! I loved the walk through of the caboose hotel. I go every year and rent a house a few blocks down from Kitchen Kettle. There is always something going in there. I will have to stay a night in the caboose just to do it. I will be going back to Casey Jones Restaurant in August.

I passed by those several times but never stayed in them.I love the maplehofe dairy. I also like the bird in hand market opens on Wednesday-Saturday

We were there this past fall! Had lunch at the restaurant, rode on the Stratsburg Railroad, visited several covered bridges and went to the Hershey RV show. Love the area!
