That is so smart, I was thinking of crating some sort of contraption to just hook onto the tractor/mower with the hooks for the collector bag and lock in with the tow hitch, but then I need to build that whole contraption. Making it like this and mounting it on the trailer is much easier and easier to get done. Thank you for this fantastic idea! ❤
I like it! I will be moving my heads closer together so I can get that overlap you were talking about. I wondered about that. Great idea on this sprayer.
I want to do the same thing only my tank needs to go sideways as my sprayer is a wand that sprays about 30 feet swath and is mounted to the back of the tank and also has a spray wand. Just have to figure out some brackets to mount it on top of the cart.
Very nice setup, I am going to build one as well. I think the boom needs to be longer with a 3rd nozzle in the center. Also that pump is not designed for continuous use, be careful that it doesn't overheat... nice work
Do you have a parts list you could share for your setup with specifics? I'm planning on building something similar as a compost tea sprayer. I'll need nozzles that have at least a 400 micrometer opening and thinking something like his could work attached to the back of my quad. I'll need to buy a tank in general so just trying to see what I can make for cheap and ideally hold 70 gallons (or smaller but I'd have to refill). I'll be applying to 7 acres at 10 gallons an acre
Excellent effort. Depending on which Teejet nozzles you use they need to be 20" apart and 20" from ground for overlap coverage. You set your pump pressure and forward speed to work with the selected nozzle. Teejet has charts for their nozzles and it would be wise to do more research.
I appreciate your comment, I was just trying to throw something together quickly and inexpensively. I'm sure there are a hundred different ways to make a homemade sprayer based on all of the comments that I received on my two videos. Once again, thanks for watching!
I will try to put one together soon. I should have listed all of it in the description when I first listed the video. I listed part numbers for the nozzles and either this video or the other sprayer video. Read through the comments you should find it. Thanks for watching!
Hey just a sugestion. I made a mod on my mower for a work light and ive tied in a plug to make 12volt hook up to a pump or other attachment to run off the mower instead of a battery. I just added a in line fuse and hooked it to the mower battery
@@WestWorld24 thanks. Could you tell me where you got the sprayer heads at. I wanna build a simalar one but make it wider for less passes in my yard. I wanna be able to fold it up. Instead of pvc i may use aluminum as the support so itll fold up and hinge it. Great design though . Just make sure if you wire it up to add the fuse and a good switch. Thats rated for the amprage.
@@theironmonger1175 I got the spray nozzles at Lowe's in The plumbing section. They were with the ground/yard sprinkler systems. It was trial and error, I now have three nozzles and I change the spray pattern.
Just a suggestion but i believe the nozzles should be overlapping each other when hitting the ground I don't remember by how much if you put a third nozzle in that would give you full coverage you will just have to calibrate your sprayer. And change pressure or speed to put down the gpm you desire much better spray coverage and more accurate usage of chemicals. Great video thank you
I bought all the materials at Lowe's. The nozzles were in the lawn sprinkler system area. Let me see if I can find a part number for you, I posted it somewhere either with this video or the original video.
mount your tank to a piece of plywood the same size as cart, you won't need a strap, and just shorten up the distance between nozzles for better middle coverage. cannot see a middle nozzle from driver's seat (in case it plugs).
2 more sprayer nossels 4" from the center youll get better coverage just my thoughts. But to test this spray pattern you need to drive at you spray down the street or dry pavement and see what got wet and how wet it got and that will show you what spots your not hitting and how wide a path your doing.

It just makes sense, if you already have a tank sprayer, you can modify it to a boom sprayer. A lot of options available!

I just strapped mine in with some inexpensive ratchet straps.

Check out my other video, I added a third nozzle in the center. I only used it a few times last year, no problems. Thanks for watching!
Okay I sure will, thank you for the informational videos
Ya know too you could make it longer too. The wider the spray the less time itll take to cover the yard
Great improvement on your previous set-up.

Peruse the sprayer isle at a farm supply store. Teejet nozzles would fit your application better.
Just saw this is 4 years old.

Can you adjust the pressure rate?
Yes, if you look closely you will see a diverter valve near the pump. I have it open all the way.

2 nozzles are all that pump can handle effectively, just shorten up your boom and call it good !!
The pump is very powerful it's handling three nozzles just fine.
