Beautiful, thanks for sharing. I recently built a DIY frame for it, this motor is a beast! Also just to clarify, I believe the Bafang model number for this motor is the MM G510.750/1000.C. As far as I understand it the model number M620 represents the full OEM drive unit with the battery pack and display. Also fyi, most of the Alibaba sellers will include the mounting plate for a DIY application as well as the usb progamming cable.
Great build. In later videos i saw that you plugged in the brake level indecatiors . Are they necessary for the motor? Because you did not plug in the battery communication for example. Do you know which cables have to be used to run the system besides power and display? Regards
Very nice video. I would like to buy this ultra mid bafang, and I would like to know if it has the same bolts as the 250w max bafang.because I own an ebike wayscral 755 equipped with bafang max drive 250w. Can you please tell me if it is possible to install it? Thanks in advance for the reply
I have just found this is available, I had an idea i wanted to build my own mid mounted ebike …kind of want a twist throttle though…main comment is right now, in this corona era , I wonder if there would be delivery time issues coming from China
would you happen to know where I could get the head and tail light wire harnesses because the bike I bought with this motor do not have the head and tail light connected to the battery they are built into the frame but are not connected to anything so had to use after market lights on it
You could also try contacting one of the Bafang resellers on Alibaba.com. I believe the model numbers are EB 1T1.EX.XXXX (front) and EB 1T1.FX.XXXX (rear). www.bafang-e.com/en/oem-area/components/component/connector/eb-1t1exxxxx-1/
Hello i have a question. I have the BBS02 and am very happy with it. However i thought that it had a rotation sensor that would put more watt out when i peddle faster (higher rpm). Now its just a on/off sensor basically, because it gives full power, even when i peddle very slowly. This is ok for me, but i want to build an ebike for my mom too. I want that bike to be a little more refined, because other wise she would be too scared to jump on the bike :) (she almost crashed my bbs02, when she peddled in the highest pass in the corner when she tried the bike). My question: does this bafang have better rotation sensor, since it has a force sensor too? So; does the motor output for example 300 watts when I peddle lightly and more (for example 1000watt) when I peddle faster/with more force)? Thanks.
I would say that setting 1 is not that aggressive and does sense pressure and only assists when you are pushing on the pedals. For example if you was going down an incline and pedalled lightly then the assist would not activate. I have to say though that what I find acceptable for power assistance may differ from person to person, for me it's fine and I only find setting 5 aggressive for others setting 1 may be to much.
You said there’s no instructions in the box, does Andy Kirby make any information available on his website seeing as he is the one who supplied you the kit?
What kind of instructions are you looking for... install, programming? I haven't found much from Bafang but the install is pretty straight forward... the motor will only fit in a frame fitted with the mounting plate and the cables are color coded. The torque sensor programming is a bit tricky, I just published a video for it. Otherwise Bafang has a basic spec sheet on their OEM website www.bafang-e.com/en/oem-area/components/component/accessories/mm-g5107501000c/

When I got my Sur Ron the first thing I disabled was the brake cut off. What a pain and not needed.
Yeah I put those magnet type cut off switches on this bike but they were intermittent and was cutting the motor all the time .

Thanks for the info 👍
I was just watching a video of yours the other day when you was doing a speed test.

Brake levers were used for cutting motor when pulled. Not sure on the wiring as I don't have the bike anymore 👍
@@baconbuttties thx for the quick response. But the motor would have worked without the brake levers?
@@TheMrCsan yes that's right, motor will work without levers 👍
@@baconbuttties thanks for your help
@@TheMrCsan 👍
Could you tell me the distance between the holes on the bracket or the 620 motor as I'm looking for a frame
I haven't got the motor anymore to measure it, but this motor only fits a particular mount.
They call it the G510 mount like this www.greenbikekit.com/bafang-ultra-motor-hanger.html
@@baconbuttties Thanks for your reply

The bolt pattern will be completely different on the Bafang ultra 620 so it will not fit
Is there a bash guard or an aftermarket one I've just ordered the Dengfu e06 and it doesn't come with a bash guard?
I've never looked into a bash guard so don't know sorry.
Give us more videos from building your ebike .
There will be, have been ordering some parts.
Hi is this more powerful than the G510 .?
I think they are the same motor with some minor updates?
@@baconbuttties yeah same motor I think M620 represents the model number for the whole drive unit with the battery pack.

Im not sure how long of a delay it would be from China as even in normal times it varies from different sellers
would you happen to know where I could get the head and tail light wire harnesses because the bike I bought with this motor do not have the head and tail light connected to the battery they are built into the frame but are not connected to anything so had to use after market lights on it
I don't know as the wiring harness for my motor comes with it from Bafang so maybe contact them. Does your motor have the wires on it ?

Did you get stung by customs for import and charges and such?
Yes it was with TNT and around 97 pound for vat and duties
I guess for this powerful motor you need a motorbike sprockets and chain!
Depends on the power setup but I'm running mine at 1500w with a heavy duty KMC bike chain and standard 1/8" bike sprockets.
