Papertowel Holder Fix (lathe work)

This is a short video that is a simple fix to a simple household item but it was fun to do. It was some simple lathe work but it benefited us and was the entire reason I love the idea of having the tools that you need when you need them even though you don't use them all the time. Couple of questions, but first thank you for the video. 1) what kind of lathe is that? 2) I have the Kamenstein ratchet paper towel holder. It's wobbly. The ratchet part works great. Bought one for each bathroom. They're slowly failing. One the ratchet part broke. Now this one, the post is wobbly. 3) how did you take the bottom plastic off. The Kamenstein website doesn't work anymore.

It’s the harbor freight 7 x 12 metal lathe, and to your second question I have no idea. 🤷‍♂️
