Yes, absolutely. They have everything set up for kids. Lots of chickens, rabbits and cats wandering around. Plus they have a lot of activities for them. They have horse back riding to the right of the hotel on the beach.

@@billhoare7404 Absolutely great hotel and excellent staff. You will have a fantastic time. The horses did not belong to the Pullman, the farmer has moved on that was next door. Ask at the travel booking place on the lower level. They can direct you about horses, excursions etc.

Went to both places Melia Las Dunas and to Pullman . By far the best vacation was in Melia Las Dunas . Did not like Pullman at all food was horrible

Good review, good video. We saw the Pullman from the bus at the front door while picking people up for an excursion. I though it looked like the beach was right there at the back exit from the lobby. Must've been an optical illusion. Looks like a very nice place. We might check it out next year. Thanks.
The ocean and beach are very close, that view from the lobby is fantastic. Great sight lines, and the resort architecture is well designed. Everything is close to ocean, beach, and main building for food and entertainment.

how were the mosquitoes when you were there?
Where else have you been to in Cuba? I have also been 5 times as well. I've been to the following:
Memories Varadero
Memories Cayo Santa Maria
Grand Memories Varadero (horrible would not go again)
Iberostar Laguna Azul Varadero
Royalton Hicacos Varadero (best i have been to thus far)
I'd HIGHLY recommend Melia Las Dunas- we've been there 30+ times!!! This Pullman also looks amazing!

Was there any excursions you would recommend? Did you go off the resort?
I’m a beer guy, and I’m not a huge drinker. I think overall they make good drinks, you can ask for premium and they will upgrade the alcohol. We did the catamaran/snorkel trip and the trip to Moron. We enjoyed both, we’re going to try Lenny’s lobster bar off the resort when we go end of March.

Omg this brings back so many memories! We're hopefully returning this year May/June we were last there just before the hurricane hit. We visited a nearby farm and done horse riding, the little pinto horse that your wife/partner is on what was his name? Very similar to the one I was on lol markings are identical!
Pinto is correct, I was riding Adolpho. That's cool....

Going there with a big group end of June. Yes you definitely has the best review video so far for this resort. Answered a lot of my questions. Does the guy with the horses comes to the beach a few times a day? Just wondering how we can find him because that looks amazing.
You can book him where you book trips for other excursions with your airline rep. Downstairs across from the a la cart office. He comes to the right of the hotel as your looking at the ocean from the hotel, it's a 3-4 min walk. Enjoy !

Great video! Did you find there were a lot of families with kids there when you went in February?
Not so many young kids, teenagers with parents mostly. Good mix of young and old. The price point keeps the party animals away.

Where can I go to find the nicest beach? I thought it would be memories flamenco but the hotel looks a little too depressing for me and I read that lot of people got covered in bites, bed bugs etc. I can compromise but not when it comes to bed sheets not being changed etc. yuck.

Hi Glenn, awesome review! I'm also Canadian and curious in knowing if Canadian currency is preferred for excursions/tipping?
Cubans prefer their own money the CUC. The hotel will exchange your Canadian dollars no problem. Also ask for as many 1 peso coins as you want for tips. Enjoy!
Just got back from Pullman and not Impressed! The hotel will exchange $15. Canadian for 10 CUC! Robery! The food was average and the cocktails terrible! Not very friendly atmosphere! Expensive for nothing!

It's the basic room with partial ocean view. A little more expensive, but we felt it was worth it.

great review! we are leaving in 4 days and so excited! Did you need to bring an adaptor to plug in electronics?
Yes, depending on your electronics you can use an adapter if the converter is built in. Eg cell phones, tablets, batteries, cameras etc. If not some older devices need a converter from 220-110. Look on your device it should tell you. You'll know if you got it right, otherwise you will blow your device.
I've heard Cayo Coco has a mosquitoes and so called " no see ems" in the sandproblem. Is that true?
No mosquitoes when we were there, it’s usually windy. Little buggers wings can’t fly. Sand fleas, yes. You need bug repellent, it works well and no problems if you apply before the beach.
Hi Glenn, I have been reading many posts regarding mosquitoes and sand bugs. We plan to go in April. Can you comment and provide suggestions ?
I was there again 2 weeks ago. Didn’t see any mosquitoes, they spray for that. There are sand fleas however that you never see, but you’ll feel the bites. Nothing serious, but a bug repellant with deet especially around your feet, ankles and legs should keep them away. Enjoy!
Nice how much was it for all
We paid about $1750 each for partial ocean view. Not the cheapest place but we felt it was well worth it. The short distance to airport and wifi in our room were a treat.

We just got back from Grand Memories Flamencho, in Cayo Coco...food and service was bad. The beach and the pool kept me from rating them a 1, but they are not a 4.5 by any means. This looks more up my alley and may be worth the extra pesos.
Grand Memories in Varadero was horrible as well. I don't know why but there is something with that chain. We put in a 3 page complaint and only got 200 bucks back. So bad
Try El-Patriarca in Varadero, it is one of the newer ones....we went there in 2016, that is a 5 star. The only issue was beach towels.

Yes, but they prefer paper money as they need to exchange the coins for bills.
@@kawarthamavrik117 So I figured it out.. if only all the other canadians could do so too.. I'm going to bring $5s and $10s, take loonies back from the employees, tip them with those loonies and then cash them out a bit with some paper money when I leave. This way I can tip easily and remove loonies from their loonie supply at the same time. Couldn't be easier.
