They could be moving shallow chasing some specific food source. Here in the US we’ll see giant bluefin tunas come right up to the beach to feed on big schools of Menhaden
Absolutely awesome trip and footage mate, can I ask roughly how far up you have to go, as I’m planning a trip over fraser the end of the year but only in a 4.2m high sided tiny from Harvey bay, if not too far up I’ll try and give it a shot, thanks in advance for any info/help mate
Maybe they’re building up some fat reserves for a journey ,to allow for an initial growth spurt or this is the final destination that the school of hatchlings end up before going their separate ways ? I would be interested in seeing the current direction from the spawning grounds also - maybe it is this that is leading them there ? Ripper video Al , and I wonder if teasing one up to see if it will take a fly would work ?
On the bucket list! Great video. Came here after binge listening to your podcast! Great content! Learning lots.
cheers mate appreciate it
Al. With the baby Black season soon approaching would be able to do a video on rigging up a garfish for the blacks.
Gday Mate we just used lures up there as there were so many fish

definitely although we can’t see any bait
You’re very entertaining ... and look like Joe Pesci

Oh they’d eat anything you throw at them
Why not ask Julian Pepperell?
already have we need to do more research so we can understand if its current or bait related or something else
Maybe at that size they feel safer in the shallows. Like juvenile white sharks spending all their time just behind the breakers!
yeah possibly but those white sharks head offshore at night to feed according to tagging results and we have catch those little marlin out to sea?
What time of year was this mate?
October bud
Why. I recon they got lost and were not smart enough to find their way out at 1st.
Possibly but why do they stay in the shallows we never saw a fish in water deeper than 10 m!
@@almcglashan Good point food. You should be down fishing Western Port atm. Some great catches.
@@lindsayfraser4791 I ll head down soon
