Pastor's awesome prayer fires everyone up before NASCAR race in Nashville

Pastor Joe Nelms delivered an invocation I'll never forget. His enthusiasm when he said the prayer before the NASCAR Nationwide Series at the Nashville Superspeedway was contagious. Exciting way to start the race! (Unfortunately my camera's battery died right at the end so I didn't get the whole thing but I got the best parts!)

Absolutely what NASCAR needs. This man, Pastor Helms should deliver the invocations for the tour. I'm no christian but this man get's me jazzed up to watch a race. Praise all your "smokin' hot wives" fans and know Pastor Helms is a man who speaks from the heart with the light hearted wisdom this country needs to hear again. Boogity boogity boogity, AMEN!!!!

I'm a Christian, don't go to "church", but pray daily. I was on my feet cheering when I heard this invocation! This is what it's all about people! Rise up and rejoice!

Prayer is not about sincerely talking to God. It's about making everybody laugh with Ricky Bobby jokes, drawing attention to yourself and getting your face all over TH-cam!

Well as long as we don't send the message that looks is the only thing that affirms a lady. Along with that he needs to also discuss how much character she has, her intelligence, her bravery, and beauty on the inside! Because outward beauty won't last, and it changes!

Well it is different. It is apparent he took a script from Tallageda nights. It is a good thing to have a "smoking hot wife" but more importantly also praise her for the attributes that last forever!!! Lips that speak the truth, feet that serve Jesus, a mind that changes things, intelligence! Talents! Beauty fads these last forever!

well as long as he wasn't a stumbling block to the racers. I personally did not watch talladega nights. It offends my convictions; however, not judging him but I think he sent a conflicting message. You can't teach that God looks on the inside if you are portraying that everyone is judging the outside and leaving it at that!! You have to be careful, because he is a leader!!

@digitalwasabi2 if your relationship with God is in the right place, youll find you can talk to Him just as you would a neighbor or friend here on earth. Treat Him as you would your best friend, not as the judge at your trial.

Too much emphasis is being put on looks and perfectionism in this country! I would prefer to gear up my brain, my talents, and intellligence. If someone thinks I'm pretty on top of that great!! It is what it is accept or leave it!
