hi Doke, i'm brazilian and I love your videos so much (even I didn't understanding somethings). You help me with a lot of tips and inspire me with your work. Thank you so much dude!
I would have thought that both burner cans would cover the same amount of space given that they both have the same pressure and same content .. weird how the chrome managed to cover almost twice as much space though.. Also thanks Doke for confirming the myth that a skinny cap saves paint. I never actually tried it but always assumed a skinny cap saves paint until today.. been painting for more than 6 years now and I just realized after watching your video that I've never actually tested it out. Also I know that Bombing Science doesn't ship internationally so how are you getting your cans sent to your country ?
Thats genius Doke. Surely you're one of the top youtubers in the graffiti art realm. Getting down with the exact measurements. Now u should deliver a finished master piece on that wall.
that's because pressure in the can because a big cap takes a lot of pressure wakes up and a thin cap takes less pressure away so that's not so much with a thick (big) cap but in the can is still color
For a fair comparison you have to use the same color.i mean everyone knows that red doesnt cover as much as a purple or black.for a fair comparison you have to use different brands but same colors and can sizes.😉
For a fair comparison we'd need to replicate the test conditions in an exact manner identically numerous times. This was just to give people an idea of the average area for those can/cap combo's.
Would love a video that helps to explain caps better. How to tell them apart and the different lines they make. There are many videos that hold the caps up to the camera but it's hard to tell some caps apart unless you know what you're looking for.
YO DOKE~! thanks bro - I literally came across this exact thought yesterday as I embarked on the very first piece in my journey....I had a feeling the skinny cap would save paint (and waste time)....but its good to know the facts. You're the man!!!
Interesting Idea for a test, but you used sadly only cans from Belton/Molotow incl. Flame for the test. For an objective test with regard to range you need much more cans like from Montana, MTN, Loop, Kobra or Ironlak for example. ;-)
I had a Molotow can in purple and the more I shook it, the brighter it was. the color was then light pink almost white at the end. Most of my problems so far have been with Molotow. In my local graffiti shop, once the molotow chrome exploded everything was silver. 😱
Pretty concerning, could be faulty cans, or user error. Doke has used countless molotow cans and has never had a problem. Maybe reconsider giving them another try, they are really great.
There was a batch of Molotow about 4 years ago that were very faulty. I had about 30 cans explode, with paint spraying everywhere. I also had about 30 cans leak slowly from the bottom resulting in a sticky brown substance forming under the can and the can losing all pressure.
For me, it's good to know how to JEEP a Piece. Just enough essential parts... Cans are all cleaned up wearing nitrile gloves so when it's finished I can just ditch the used cans and I don't have to worry about getting caught red handed. So thanks for the good content as always.
would you please compare common hobbymarkt can vs graffity can? I know that you did the cheap can challenge, however, I would like to see the actual differences like, coverage, splash, mainly area. My main concern is: is it better to use graffity cans for hobby stuff ?
Maybe the most noticeable difference between Graff Cans and Hobby Cans like Tamiya (note I'm talking about good hobby cans) is the resin type. Hobby resins is quite more fine and its dry times are faster. But, what you are asking has been my question over months and months of investigation. What does a good paint for hobby are three things: Touch-dry times fast without pealing (Montana cans for example is horrible regarding this, Flame is better), Matt finish if you want to lack your works after painting (Belton has Satin finish, Cans or Flame are good matt) and if this last is important for you, the third thing: "Lack-able Capacity", I mean, if the paint accept be lacked or not (MTN Water based, Nitro 2G, Cans Gold, Flame Blue, and some MTN 94 colors are really well for this. Hardcore is impossible without grind before the surface, Belton will cause orange peel, Flame Orange takes a lot of time to be dry...) Note that my gold rule is to use Low pressure, acrylic and matt paints for hobby. As hobbyist and try of home-writer, I enjoy the best of both worlds and with this I want to share with you some pieces of knowledgment I get painting a lot of "walls" and Hobby Cars. (when I was younger I painted in the streets but now I prefer the calm of my house hahahahaha)

hello doke I would like your videos to put subtitles since I am from Argentina and I love your videos thanks to you and your graffiti I learned a lot about graffiti
I only use silver and chrome because it covers more and goes a longer way. 1 chrome can will render me 2 good sized throwies. 1 black montana 400ml will give me up to 3 good outlines on throwies with a good amount of shading. All in all, my throwies are costing me about $5.00/USD lol. SILVER/CHROME IS THE WAY TO GO IF YOURE a quantity kinda man.
Thanks man, you answered the question i had in mind since i started doing graffiti but i was too scared ( broke lol ) to do it myself and know... Now i can die in peace 😂
Doke usually you speak about cheaper and expensier cans, but when I search the models on Google the difference is of less than a euro. I don't understand which cans I should pick, having in mind factors like price, pressure, size, quality.. Could you make a tutorial for beginners to pick the best cans??
Ailan Krohn if you want to do pieces, low pressure, if your into more bombing like tags, throwies and illegal graffiti you have to be fast so use high pressure cans, I recommend mtn hardcore for bombing, mtn 94 for pieces.
Ailan Krohn also a little cheaper alternative to mtn hardcore are ironlak cans, but there both around the same price, also if your doing throwies and want to carry as little stuff on you, I bring around a lego cap for outline and pink dot for fill in, and both those caps are good for tags aswell, good combo.
What if you did a full wall painting like this and then used something to clean it off in a style of graffiti, idk if that makes sense or if it’s even possible

i always wondered why chrome covered more space than others.
My homie was able to make a wholecar using only two siover 600molotow. Using more fog than solid fill but still impressive...
Higher pigment concentration
Higher pigment also its metallic so its kind of a illusion if u do dusty fills

There are lots of can resellers and suppliers across the world
What you should do next is comparing different brands with the same color and cap, that would be interesting
