I just realized something. If you fight void with no ability, you’re hitting him with hearts and stars. The weapon you use to fight Zero in dreamland 3 is made of Heart Stars. Interesting thing I noticed
I always found Phase 2 to be extremely creepy. It wasn’t all that difficult but seeing how the void starts out I thought was really cool. It isn’t as chaotic as phase 4 but it helps a lot with build up and giving Void Termina an overall creepy vibe.
I like how the different incarnations of Void represent different alignments. His first form was neutral having a dark blue body with golden armor. The second time he's fought he's now whitish in color taking on a more angel coloration having blue plating and a white coloration. His final incarnation is more devil based being pitch black with blood red armor. His true form also changes color losing more and more color as he becomes more and more powerful. He at first is purple in color. He then starts to lose color turning a light blue. His final form is just pure white indicating Void's true awakening.

The sky changing color, the sound effect, the screen shake, the intimidating presence of FOUR master crowns... 6:55 is one of the most powerful-looking attacks I’ve ever seen... and it’s a Kirby game.
When I was first fighting this boss for the first time, the MOMENT I saw the 4 master crowns arranged like that I instantly went "oh fuck" And then the laser actually fired and the screen got super saturated "OH FUCK"

I think the best part of this is that the strongest thing in the universe isn't some lofty super hero, but a little kid with good in his heart, as opposed to evil. The younger each of the villains is, the more cosmically powerful they are, until reaching the literal start of a Star Warrior, the Astral Birth of Void. Void is neither good nor evil, it just.... *is.* But Kirby prevails. Because Kirby isn't just a good boy. Kirby is *the best* boy.

Kirby defeating just void is non-canon because it’s not apart of the main timeline. For example when hyness is defeated in guest star mode when playing as any of the dlc characters “except the mage sisters” hyness sinks into the floor that represents the other dimension which is foreshadowing to the events of hero’s in another dimension. However Kirby in the main time line did something about it “despite not seeing it happen” while the main character that was dlc in their timeline did nothing about it. A lot of the scenarios are what ifs in Kirby star Allie’s. Galacta knight what mentioned by hyness as one of the warriors that stopped void termina apparently yet lacked any physical appearance in the main Kirby timeline. While the pause screens are true an could acually happen they simpily didn’t at the time yet. Morpho knight is sorta a good example of this he had a non-canonical appearance in Allie’s but gain an actual canon role in Forgotten lands.
Beating Soul Melter EX with just Kirby, no ability and no allies, put every other challenge in the entire series to shame. Magolor Soul? Child's play. Star Dream Soul OS? A cakewalk in comparison. This was the true nightmare in Dreamland. When I reached the last phase of Void's fight, I knew the last hit had to be dealt by the Friend Heart. Nothing else felt right. This was the true final battle, the last chance Void would have to finally know the joy Kirby always had. After everything both of them had been through, even after every trial and tribulation, Kirby filled the void with his love. It was the coolest thing I've ever done in any game. Thank you for this incredible journey, HAL Laboratory.

An ability obviously still helps a ton). Astral Birth Void though? Uh..... (But yeah Soul OS is easily the hardest boss in all of Kirby)
@@SomeAsian Facts. I took me way too many tries to beat it. Especially when I got to the heart, and it did the shockwaves, and I thought I could just block em and it killed me instantly.
I heard each attack you do does less damage when you have allies as a balance measure. But soloing this boss with no ability only the basic shot, stars, and in the final phase friend hearts must be a true feat. I should get my hands on a Swicth sometime.

Listen, I’m a huge Kirby fan, I love Return to Dreamland, Triple Deluxe, and Planet Robobot, but Star Allies’s story mode is just way too easy and super boring. The Guest Star mode is okay, Heroes in Another Dimension is great, and The Ultimate Choice is an actually really hard boss rush, but the story mode, the most important part of the game, is pretty mediocre, which drags the game’s quality down significantly.
@@thesnatcher3616 I enjoyed it too, but the level design is not very good, the puzzles are anything but, and the game is the second easiest in the series, only being harder than Epic Yarn. Even if you weren’t talking about the story mode earlier, it is a part of the game, so saying “And people say this game is too easy...” is a bad argument, because the Story Mode, the meat of the game, IS too easy.

Although judging by how the story mode is so short, it being "the meat" of the game is debatable. Today I learned that the bullet pattern that Void uses at the very start of the final phase is basically just a weaker version of Yukari Yakumo's "Boundary of Wave & Particle" from Shoot the Bullet
The music is chilling. Astral Birth Void, a tragic story of a kirby born not from care, but of hatred, destruction, loneliness, jealousy, anger, and sadness. He even smiles when defeated, as if he was being freed, as if he was waiting for someone to fill the Void
It's actually scary to think that the TRUE destroyer of world Void Termina or astral birth Void is really just what à evil kirby look like And that kirby could have ended up EXACTLY the same has he not been born from love and food

Zero from Dream Land 3, reborn. The splash screen, attacks, everything’s there. Maybe Dark Matter does what it does because all it wants is... A friend? Oh, throw a bit of Dark Mind, Marx and Drawica Soul in the mix too
The exterior reminds me of a Kingdom Hearts boss. The interior reminds me of Delirium from Binding of Isaac. A white face that represents previous final bosses that's extremely chaotic.
I like to think that after he's been purified of the negative emotions, he was able to be reborn as another good Kirby-like entity and he's happy that he can start a happier, carefree life, possibly even becoming Kirby's retro form, which was originally white on the cover art.
I have yet to beat Soul Melter EX. The furthest I've gotten is the Mage-Sisters, once with the sisters themselves + three Susies, once with just Magolor.
OK so we all think it's cool how he beat soul melter EX with no copy abilities or allies but no one is taking about how he did it three times that's beyond impressive

I have a lot of issues with the fight and personally prefer the soulmelter-version a lot. But I will still put everything interessting about it in a list(Includes obvious stuff and stuff that was true even in earlier versions of the boss: - 0:38 this form is called the demon god-form. It wears armor from the jambacult, so this form would likely look friendlier if it wasn't ressurected by an insane dude. Also, the title of the boss in japanese is "True god of destruction". -The theme of the phase, "first movement: playfully crushing stars", has lyrics that are "sung" by the instruments. The lyrics are in the bossdescription: the english version of the lyrics is: "Rise! Oh, Dark Lord of Despair! Crush the stars! Lay waste to care! (x 4) - Inst. - Rise and cover the land in sorrows! May your symphony of emptiness bring the end of all tomorrows! (x 2)" While the german version is(translated): "Rise, Lord of Darkness! Destroy worlds, plunge everything into suffering! (x 4) - Inst. - Rise and plunge the land into sorrow! Let your symphony of destruction resound! Be the never-ending plague!(x 2)" I only know the languages german and english, so sadly I don't have access to the versions from other languages, including japanese. - 2:27 The first super-ability usage of the fight. It is two ultraswords, similar to magolor soul in return to dreamland. It is also the first showcase of him using the elements he absorbed from the mage sisters to buff his attacks. - 3:17 the bossdescription of the heart across all fights reveals a lot of interessting stuff. It is mentioned to belong to the true form of void termina, supporting the idea that the mainbody is the result of whatever vision he was resurrected under. It also reveals that void exists in all worlds at once and in the japanese version of this fight, it also mentions that it's genetic code contains all that exists in the universe because he is the creator and ancestor of the universe. -the floor in both in-body phases looks similar to Dark Star from Kirby64 with this palette. - 3:21 funny thing, these symbols are actually kanji and not runes. But they don't translate to anything, they are made up characters by the devteam. I wonder if they just went with whatever was cool to them or if they originally had some kind of secret code planned that they ended up not putting in the game afterall. - 4:17 first glimpse of the core of void termina. - 4:34 this form is called the Angel-form. The Wings originally had a similar palette to the wings of 02, but they changed it for soulmelter ex for some reason. But the way the wings are shaped with the weird plates instead of the feathers vaguely resembled marx in all fights. - 4:44 this phase exclusively uses new super abilities unlike phase1. This is ultra bow, 5:09 is ultra axe and 5:30 is ultra spear. Axe and Spear are likely derived from the mage sisters, but there is no known source for the bow. Also ironically, the ultra spears resemble the heartspears that were used to seal away void termina back then.(Actually, is this a thing in earlier fights? I never noticed) - 5:11 Kirby can also for some reason alter the flow of time for a short while here. Maybe it is a weird reference towards bayonetta because of the similar activation and the resemblance between the final bosses thematically? I honestly got nothing on that detail. - 6:31 The mastercrown. It being included in the fight might mean that void created it in the first place, it was used against him in the sealing or both. -I almost forgot the theme actually. Exactly like the first phase, the third phase also has lyrics. It is called "Third Movement: Sorrowful wings of the heavens" English version: "Rise! Oh, Dark Lord of Despair! Crush the stars! Lay waste to care! (x 4) - Inst. - Upon your wing, dark judgment bring! May your symphony of tragedy cause the end of everything! (x 2)" German version: "Rise, Lord of Darkness! Destroy worlds, plunge everything into suffering! (x 4) - Inst. - Your appearance the great beacon! Let your tragic symphony resound! The destruction's final ritual!(x 2)" Note on that btw, the untranslated german version does not even sync up with the music properly, while the lyrics of phase1 actually do. That is some amazing localisationconsistency right there(not). - 7:44 The japanese title is Star Birth. So basically it describes him as a star being born by the stars, that gives birth to other stars. Seems pretty fitting for a creatorgod that came from nothing. The german title is Astral Emergance as a minor funfact. Also, the background is a colorswapped version of the dreamland3 boss butch-hyperzone. It fits the fight because that hyperzone is one of both light and darkness, unlike the one from dreamland 3 storymode which is only a hyperzone of darkness. - 7:51 we be bullethell now. Without memes, this is honestly just bizarre. In the other fights, he would do an attack that steals your friends here, but not in this fight for some reason. - 8:05 he first uses spinning cutter which most soulbosses use, and then he uses the weird cutterflurry from drawcia soul. -Void takes multiple forms in this fight. 9:11 is his dark mind-form, 9:26 is his drawcia meteor-form which multiple soul bosses used in the past and 9:51 is his zero-form. He had a dark matter-form in earlier fights, but the zero-form replaces it. Special properties and details: Zeroform: He uses the attack loud song, which is a barrage of lasers. These zero-lasers cannot be blocked at all, but I-frames still generally help to avoid damage. Also, he strangely seems to lack the ability to deal touchdamage in this form, though that might be because the player is supposed to hover in the same place as him to avoid lasers. In this form, void is immune to damage via friend hearts. Dark Mind-form: It has no major special things to it, though it is the only time he creates tiny mirrors to reflect lasers and attack. Identical to the real dark mind, lasers can be avoided by just ducking on the ground. But unlike him, these mirrors cannot be destroyed. This form also has an immunity against friend hearts. Meteor-form: Nothing special here interms of pure gameplay. Though the aestetic of the many stars he creates during the attack is great. These are actual stars that just despawn instantly btw, so they can be used by kawasaki to create more healingitems. At the end of this video, kirby also inhales some of them due to good timing. - 10:05 same special effect as when friendabilities are used is used for his deathanimation.

Pretty funny that Mr. Kumazaki's voice was used on the first and third form of Void Termina which was him having to deal with the work overload. The Angel form makes it pretty obvious that someone was having a meltdown.
Void Termina(as shown in the main story): Revived incompletely via Hyness and the three Mage Sisters. Void Soul: The Soul Form of the incomplete Void Termina, invoked by the mysterious True Arena. Astral Birth Void: The completed Void Termina, revived this time not by the Jambastion Cult, but the True Arena. Who could be powerful enough to do so without fear?
Everybody: I can't believe the final boss takes the form of Kirby and Dark Matter, and even uses some of their abilities! Magolor Soul/Magolor Soul EX who looks like Kirby, has Dark Matter's eye in it's mouth, and uses all of Kirby's Super Abilities: *Am I a joke to you?*

While i personally don't enjoy fighting Void Termina outside phases all that much (where you have to shoot the eyes), the music completely makes up for whatever enjoyment i lack at the moment Complete banger

It's stated that during the ancient war that the mages couldn't find their version because he was already around (Kirby) so they had to steal another reality/timelines that was still a baby. Kirby is technically older and it's him punching his kid brother.

Yes! I know, right? Twin Bugzzy is SO annoying. And Corrupt Hyness keeps destroying me when I was so close to completing the challenge! It's just a real pain to try to solo The Ultimate Choice depending on who you're playing as.

no, he'a literally just void; a void thats only given meaning or form by the will of others. Nothing means anything until it is GIVEN meaning. i.e the inhabitants or the life forms in the kirby universe's negative emotions made Void the way he is now, since he is himself nothing but what YOU want him to be, he's heavily affected by others influences.
It’s because he was defeated with happinesses. His smile and stars flying out of his bod supports the fact that the reincarnation of void will be of Good instead of Evil

I heard each attack you do does less damage when you have allies as a balance measure. But soloing this boss with no ability only the basic shot, stars, and in the final phase friend hearts must be a true feat. I should get my hands on a Swicth sometime.

It is. The base story mode, at least. Listen, I’m a huge Kirby fan, I love Return to Dreamland, Triple Deluxe, and Planet Robobot, but Star Allies’s story mode is just way too easy and super boring. The Guest Star mode is okay, Heroes in Another Dimension is great, and The Ultimate Choice is an actually really hard boss rush, but the story mode, the most important part of the game, is pretty mediocre, which drags the game’s quality down significantly.

I enjoyed it too, but the level design is not very good, the puzzles are anything but, and the game is the second easiest in the series, only being harder than Epic Yarn. Even if you weren’t talking about the story mode earlier, it is a part of the game, so saying “And people say this game is too easy...” is a bad argument, because the Story Mode, the meat of the game, IS too easy.

Although judging by how the story mode is so short, it being "the meat" of the game is debatable. It's more like an appetizer that turned people away from the rest of the game's content, which isn't much. Although I did spend fifty hours on this game. Probably from the SUPER HARD boss rush.
Today I learned that the bullet pattern that Void uses at the very start of the final phase is basically just a weaker version of Yukari Yakumo's "Boundary of Wave & Particle" from Shoot the Bullet

I have a lot of issues with the fight and personally prefer the soulmelter-version a lot. But I will still put everything interessting about it in a list(Includes obvious stuff and stuff that was true even in earlier versions of the boss:
- 0:38 this form is called the demon god-form. It wears armor from the jambacult, so this form would likely look friendlier if it wasn't ressurected by an insane dude. Also, the title of the boss in japanese is "True god of destruction".
-The theme of the phase, "first movement: playfully crushing stars", has lyrics that are "sung" by the instruments. The lyrics are in the bossdescription:
the english version of the lyrics is:
"Rise! Oh, Dark Lord of Despair!
Crush the stars! Lay waste to care! (x 4)

Rise and cover the land in sorrows!
May your symphony of emptiness

- 2:27 The first super-ability usage of the fight. It is two ultraswords, similar to magolor soul in return to dreamland. It is also the first showcase of him using the elements he absorbed from the mage sisters to buff his attacks.
- 3:17 the bossdescription of the heart across all fights reveals a lot of interessting stuff. It is mentioned to belong to the true form of void termina, supporting the idea that the mainbody is the result of whatever vision he was resurrected under. It also reveals that void exists in all worlds at once and in the japanese version of this fight, it also mentions that it's genetic code contains all that exists in the universe because he is the creator and ancestor of the universe.
-the floor in both in-body phases looks similar to Dark Star from Kirby64 with this palette.
- 3:21 funny thing, these symbols are actually kanji and not runes. But they don't translate to anything, they are made up characters by the devteam. I wonder if they just went with whatever was cool to them or if they originally had some kind of secret code planned that they ended up not putting in the game afterall.
- 4:17 first glimpse of the core of void termina.
- 4:34 this form is called the Angel-form. The Wings originally had a similar palette to the wings of 02, but they changed it for soulmelter ex for some reason. But the way the wings are shaped with the weird plates instead of the feathers vaguely resembled marx in all fights.
- 4:44 this phase exclusively uses new super abilities unlike phase1. This is ultra bow, 5:09 is ultra axe and 5:30 is ultra spear. Axe and Spear are likely derived from the mage sisters, but there is no known source for the bow. Also ironically, the ultra spears resemble the heartspears that were used to seal away void termina back then.(Actually, is this a thing in earlier fights? I never noticed)
- 5:11 Kirby can also for some reason alter the flow of time for a short while here. Maybe it is a weird reference towards bayonetta because of the similar activation and the resemblance between the final bosses thematically? I honestly got nothing on that detail.
- 6:31 The mastercrown. It being included in the fight might mean that void created it in the first place, it was used against him in the sealing or both.
-I almost forgot the theme actually. Exactly like the first phase, the third phase also has lyrics. It is called "Third Movement: Sorrowful wings of the heavens"

Note on that btw, the untranslated german version does not even sync up with the music properly, while the lyrics of phase1 actually do. That is some amazing localisationconsistency right there(not).
- 7:44 The japanese title is Star Birth. So basically it describes him as a star being born by the stars, that gives birth to other stars. Seems pretty fitting for a creatorgod that came from nothing. The german title is Astral Emergance as a minor funfact. Also, the background is a colorswapped version of the dreamland3 boss butch-hyperzone. It fits the fight because that hyperzone is one of both light and darkness, unlike the one from dreamland 3 storymode which is only a hyperzone of darkness.
- 7:51 we be bullethell now. Without memes, this is honestly just bizarre. In the other fights, he would do an attack that steals your friends here, but not in this fight for some reason.
- 8:05 he first uses spinning cutter which most soulbosses use, and then he uses the weird cutterflurry from drawcia soul.
-Void takes multiple forms in this fight. 9:11 is his dark mind-form, 9:26 is his drawcia meteor-form which multiple soul bosses used in the past and 9:51 is his zero-form. He had a dark matter-form in earlier fights, but the zero-form replaces it.
Special properties and details:
Zeroform: He uses the attack loud song, which is a barrage of lasers. These zero-lasers cannot be blocked at all, but I-frames still generally help to avoid damage. Also, he strangely seems to lack the ability to deal touchdamage in this form, though that might be because the player is supposed to hover in the same place as him to avoid lasers. In this form, void is immune to damage via friend hearts.
Dark Mind-form: It has no major special things to it, though it is the only time he creates tiny mirrors to reflect lasers and attack. Identical to the real dark mind, lasers can be avoided by just ducking on the ground. But unlike him, these mirrors cannot be destroyed. This form also has an immunity against friend hearts.
Meteor-form: Nothing special here interms of pure gameplay. Though the aestetic of the many stars he creates during the attack is great. These are actual stars that just despawn instantly btw, so they can be used by kawasaki to create more healingitems. At the end of this video, kirby also inhales some of them due to good timing.
- 10:05 same special effect as when friendabilities are used is used for his deathanimation.

Pretty funny that Mr. Kumazaki's voice was used on the first and third form of Void Termina which was him having to deal with the work overload. The Angel form makes it pretty obvious that someone was having a meltdown.

Yes! I know, right? Twin Bugzzy is SO annoying. And Corrupt Hyness keeps destroying me when I was so close to completing the challenge! It's just a real pain to try to solo The Ultimate Choice depending on who you're playing as.
