This girl really needed a trim! she’ll love it. Unless the root is fresh and yellow, I always start my monstera cuttings in water, just to get the root going and then move it to moist moss. Works a treat every time!

I'm having a nervous breakdown watching it got chopped. But thanks for giving me the courage to do the same to my monstera deliciosa. Love from Malaysia 🌿😍🌿

Look at the positives, now you have one for each room of your new place 😁
Also, I’m the same when cutting a plant I care a lot about, I always look away 😂

Hi Claire, how did you hydrate the moss? Did you spray it or just add water to the jars after? Did you use LGL added to the water? 🙏🏻

I feel like the shape of the jar is a bad idea. It might be hard to get them out.

Mine has taken five months from an unrooted cutting to producing it’s first leaf😅 mine did keep rotting in sphagnum though so I had to resort to water💚

Why not cut all the reverted parts? Like at least four more leaves. Its going to continue to grow green and you will just have to chop her again soon.

Love you videos! Thanks for being so informative. I do have a question on your moss propagation... I haven't found any videos on this, as I'm currently trying to propagate my Albo cutting in water but might switch to moss. My question is... How do you know how much water in the moss is too much (too soggy)? How should your jar look from the outside and what is the best method to keeping it hydrated while making sure it's not too wet? Thanks

Gosh, wasn’t expecting this 😊😊 I have a VM wetstick. It has a growth point/node but no roots or aerial roots. It came with stumps of aerial roots but they went black so I cut them off as I was worried rot would travel into the node. I’ve had the wet stick for about two weeks. I’ve got it in enclosed in a heated propogator. It’s sat on a egg cup with the one stump of aerial root which hasn’t gone black in a thimble of damp perlite. (I’m paranoid it will rot so didn’t want to put the whole stick directly onto perlite). Do you have any suggestions on a better way to try and propogate this? It’s my first attempt at a VM wetstick. Thank-you 🥰🥰

I love watching your happy face, makes me smile. I’ve just watered most my plants with mosquito bits for fungal gnats! Have you used that? X

Hi Claire and everyone! I need some help. I have a few propagations going for some rare plants. Philo white knight, white princess, Thai, monstera albo and such. I usually prop in perlite, which I have them all in now, but my white wizard's one leaf (single node cutting) is turning yellow! Should I increase light, add more water or switch to water/moss prop? It's only been 2 days and I don't want the others to start going downhill. I've never had a problem proping in perlite, but I've never proped a Thai, white wizard or an albo before. I want to try moss like in this video but I'm a bit nervous. Things tend to rot for me in moss, which I don't ever get with perlite, but if albos (and Thai's?) really love it I'll give it a go!
They are about week old cuttings, In a perlite prop box, in a west window shielded from direct sun. I just put them under a grow light for more consistent light. Sorry about the long post but any advice would be greatly appreciated!
