So while I am stoked for the box, despite owning hundreds of ratkin models totaling about 7500pts in most efficient unit sizes (it's a very cost efficient way to buy more infantry!), I'm not sure this box is a good intro to a new player who wants to get into Ratkin. Here's why: -Ratkin inherently run low nerve and need Rally to boost it up. The box lacks any form of rally, meaning you are mostly going to be fighting 13/15 nerve blocks with only a 12/14 (with lower defense than many other regiments as well). -The core infantry line here is hitting on 5+, meaning you will be struggling to actually kill things and SOLELY be relying on that Night Terror to do the heavy lifting straight out of the box. The moment he is screened off or shot away (12/14 nerve), your chance of doing any meaningful damage is gone. This is not going to feel good for someone just learning Ratkin, as one of the pain points to learn to accept is hitting on 5+ anyway. Now, I'm not going to be out here complaining without a solution (though the box is already out, so this is likely too little, too late). So hear me out: Cut the spear warriors back to standard warriors, replace the Night Terror with a Brute Enforcer to introduce the Rally mechanic to the new Ratkin player. This will teach character positioning, as well as the core mechanic the army is built around for the full game. This lowers the points of the box significantly, and doesn't fix the core issue yet of very poor kill potential. So we tack on a troop of Clawshots. This gives them a good balance of a ranged threat that can plink away wounds, teaches new players to screen out flanks, introduces the Rally mechanic while addressing the nerve values, and only raises the points of the box by 15pts total. This is, of course, just my opinion. Regardless, I am excited for these boxes and Ambush as a game mode, as I believe the lower barrier to entry will help groups grow the community more and more, bringing more folks to this fantastic game!
Really should have made all 10 minis bodies on the sprue look different instead of twins. Still love the models but was a little disappointed that they arent all different.
well, the rat-kin looks better as sci-fi than the veermyn and mantic should really consider that - slap on some shooters for the minions and you are pretty good to go

Any Chance of Mantic offering the MDF bases seperately. It;'d be nice to have a uniform , correct size Multibase option , ready to go

this looks great but I dont know much about Kings of War. How many models (plastic, resin, metal) units do you get in these boxes?
