Because of your dragster build, I have started on my own. Now, the heart of the build is my 421 Cheetah Cub 2-Cylinder 2-Stroke Yamaha Banshee Engine, which in my banshee on an ATV Dyno, made 88-rwhp on 91 Octane, and 102-rwhp on 100 Octane. I have just started on building the drag frame, I am super excited to see how this goes, especially with a 6-Speed 100 rwhp 2-Stroke Banshee Motor with a 12,000 rpm rev limiter haha.
That torque converter was fully variated way down low in the RPM range. It needs stiffer springs to let that engine get all the way up in the RPM's before it shifts.
Brendan Doyle I think so too and if the belt is slipping you want as much weight as you can put in it so it will pinch the belt tighter to. Plus make sure the distance is right or the belt won't fully engaged in the top end
I noticed a thump when you were accelerating the rail warming it up. Then again when on the Dino and you can see the drive pulley pinch the belt in the video, that seems to me like the driven pulley spring might be weak. Also if you lighten the weights and or get stronger springs in the drive pulley it will have a wider rpm range before the converter hits its top ratio ie, more time in the lower “gear”. I think a dyno measures acceleration over time to get the torque value so if you don’t floor it it will be inaccurate, too low. Just my 2 cents, loved the video and the build. Keep up the great work
rob burdack yeah man they are so stinking easy to fab up as a draw through set up I bet Ike could do it in an afternoon! Plus they are super cheap and easy to get on eBay! They are perfectly designed for that size engine.
You can work out a rough lb/ft of lost torque at the chain drive by spinning it with a battery drill and reducing the numbered clutch until it can't turn the back wheels when off the ground. Then [ here's the clever bit ] attached the chuck of the drill/driver to a torque wrench and turn it up until the drill can't make it click. Torque wrench figure/dyno figure = percentage of loss through gearbox. I don't think it will be more than 10%, it's like a straight cut box with few cogs. Great work. I laughed when the tutor didn't say it was 25 years since Isaac attended, hahahaha
Keep improving the dragster, because I truly believe that that thing can get 50+ horsepower, maybe more with a turbo fitted to it. I know you guys are capable of such feats. Would be crazy to see any forced induction you come up with! that thing is a beast waiting to happen and has to be the one the sickest builds on a DIY dragster.
Love the idle on the rail. Still voting for nos. maybe a plenum/box between the carb and manifold. Way easier than a turbo with just as good on power. Lots of inexpensive kits for motorcycles
I think moving to some sort of motorcycle v-twin would be smarter. Built in clutch, built in gear box, and probably more parts availability. Not to mention much more power..
They sell the little tachometer for these engines that wrap around the spark plug to read the rpm, maybe try and look into those so you can see how high up she’ll go and then once that’s figured out try and calculate everything now that you have a specific rpm that it’ll go to. They’re pretty cheap and I hear accurate too, on eBay you can get them or maybe ask if gopowersports has them
you guys are really nice and thorough with your explanation, make everybody feel welcome while still calling them out "dont believe these jackshafts work? come to the track and see for yourself!" you guys are too funny
Why not put an 883 or 1200 harley engine in the drag rail and be done with it? It's awesome what you have done, but something like that needs a bigger engine
Ike, as much as i could i was looking at the jackshafts when you were on the dyno. Heres a suggestion, Gear it down just a touch on the intermediate shaft, let the motor squirrel out a bit, youll get faster launches and as long as the motor squirrels and doset come apart at the higher RPM, youll get the power to the ground and hopefully faster speed on the track
The mini 4 wheeler looked like a a blast. It would be cool if there was a multi gear transmission that could fit the predator motor. That would make it a blast!
Been waiting for this any video seeing that thing run. Make sure you got your torque converter adjusted to get all you can out of it. If the belt is slipping you need more weight. Stiffer Springs will allow the RPMs to get higher before it shifts make sure the belt is set at the right distance or it won't fully engage top end. Drop the battery and wires I bet that's 18 lb
Dude that was the most angry box of bees I seen on a dyno in a long time, I fell over laughing, still a great vid guys. Can't wait for another little atv for ike. And a race soon !!!!
I learned something.. the torques are impressive. A test for convertor versus gears is both the dragster and atv lined up in the eight.. torques are the same. I had learned of weirdness with self balanced boxers and first year vortecs.. they contonued to read the same hp as factory after builds. Street times proved the only thing that proved gains.
When the dragster was doing one of it's runs I noticed my right foot was planted firmly on the floor. I'm sitting on my living room sofa but in my head I was right there on the dyno. :)
The first couple pulls it sounded like it was falling on its face a bit down low but once it got up in the rpms it sounded pretty good..I wonder if maybe its a little bit lean down low..regardless its pretty damn sweet and would be solo much fun..
You Nuts should find a motorcycle dino to test those things on. Very funny video! You hit this one out of the park! CRACK! It's Going! It's Going! IT'S OUTTA' HERE!
I agree the dyno will not give you accurate reading on the dragster or the 4 wheeler the way the dyno is setup' I agree that the jack shaft is not creating a lot of drag Its a shame there's not a small engine dyno around you to see what the 670 is really making. But a good attempt for sure and it definitely looked like the torque converter didn't like the dyno I saw the sparks. LOL Great video guys!!!
Well if you ever do a Dragster 2.0, there is still room to move the driver up, rework steering/pedals, remove rear roll bar, put the engine back in Jr. Dragster fashion, remove a lot of chains and belts (which are no doubt slipping).
Build a clutch shield that covers that torque converter and secondary clutch, I drag race sleds for fun, trust me,one day you'll get a face full of metal without that shield.
think if you take one front seat out of the suburban and one side of the rearbenches you can prolly load the dragster in there AND close the doors , only downside that any passenger is sitting behind the driver as for the engine rpm : if you go for efi you need a crank trigger anyway , that should give an acurate rpm reading at the crank , you prolly can use a cheap smartphone as a dashboard and maibe even record the run with some basic data like end rpm . lamba , might even be able tp record the endspeed using gps
You know I have built a few hypo mini bike motors and the way to get a lot of power is to put an oversized carb on the engine. With this one you might get away with two carbs one for each cylinder, not to big though, and with this insane ride, just to get a quick amount of power, pump some laffing gas(NOS) into the intakes to get a 6 or a 7 at the track. Use NGK they are the best.
Best video yet. I laughed so hard at the ATV dyno. On a serious note, it sounds like the drag's ignition is breaking up? It could definitely be tuned I THINK. Just judging from the sound when you first romped on it. I do love how it sounds up top.
guys extend dat frame an get a good bike motor on it with a trans .an mount it behind the seat if u want wheel stands .use a hand clutch an shifter or foot clutch to get it rolling an then a elec or air shifter to get it down track with button on wheel dat be awesome
Easier to load it backward and lift the front end. And is the jackshaft perpendicular to the axle both horizonally and vertically? If not it could help throw the chain.
So the $450ish ATV motor made the same power the dragster only did with a waaaaaaaaaaay more expensive setup. Sounds like the class they are running the mini dragster in is causing them to spend a huge amount of money chasing their tails.
I was waiting on the boom on the atv, but she held together. It looked to me like the primary chain is still hitting the torque converter at high speeds a bit.... wonder if you could make a guard to go down in there to help that.....
Guessing the jack shafts are losing < 5hp but it is also dependent on RPM. Guessing if you remove the torque converter and add a chain you'll get more correct numbers ('clutch'). Owning a Dynojet and Land & Sea dyno myself RPM pick-up was not needed to calculate horsepower but is needed to calculate torque from horsepower. Horsepower can be calculated with out RPM by measuring the time to accelerate a fixed mass (inertia in the Dyno's case).
Jacob Friedlander spending all that money and not in the right place gopowersports needs to get it together and sell a multiple gear stand alone transmission for these 4 cycles
Put a cr500 motor in the dragster. You’ll get gears, more than twice the horsepower and more torque as well. Not to mention it would be even more badass than it already is. Also, you guys should build a regular shifter kart with a 125.
Nice frame work. For any future builds, thought you guys would like to know that Taylor Dunn made a 3 wheeled electric cart called a stock chaser, not sure of the model number but they all used a ford 9” differential with shortened axles. Just food for thought
DUDES i know your smart an i know you know that you are losing hella horse power, with the chain's even 10 TO 15hp is so much ,lose the chain's an the wheelies will come FAST ..i love it ,keep em coming
Dirt bike swing arm tensioner needed. Damn. The paint looks great though. Belt slippage on the convertor. See if you can find and old EZGO golf kart and scarf the CVT off of it. More beefy.
Need some more tuning in the torque converter. Don’t know what the load of the dyno is but it appears the torque converter is shifting way to quick. That is why you peak numbers are so low in the rpm range.
I want to see you mount the torque converter seperate from the engine closer to the axle after the jack shafts to lower the speed and drive belt friction of the torque converter, it might also create a higher stall speed on the torque converter
Guys check out 2 stroke stuffing! He shows how to make a small engine dyno for mopeds and scooters that seems to work GREAT! He shows how to build it and sells the unit you need to run it. I'm sure it can be made to work with go karts. Seriously you guys can build your own dyno to have and test everything you build without even having to leave the house.
It would be awesome if you guys added a motorbike gearbox say an after market harley 5 or 6 speed box then you would have somethin. Still cool non the less.
Have you considered a clutch/chaincase setup from a snowmobile? They utilize a primary and secondary clutch like the torque converter you have but with much more adjustability even with stock parts. You should look into it, maybe from a 600cc skidoo, MY2004 or so. :)
Ratkill9000 A clutch won't work unless they have a transmission. Maybe they can figure out a way to hook up an old gear box like from a model a they are only about 16x10 inches total
John, Isaac, I think you are losing far more through the torque converter than you are through the jackshafts. I've seen a couple of videos where they reconfigured a motorcycle engine/gearbox/clutch to where they could use just the gearbox/clutch for another engine. Something like that to where you could use one chain to drive the rear tires and get rid of the torque converter would greatly benefit the dragster IMO. Plus because GEARS ya' know! Also, I noticed a strange "bobble/movement" of the rear tires on the dragster, any idea what's happening there?
Because of your dragster build, I have started on my own.
Now, the heart of the build is my 421 Cheetah Cub 2-Cylinder 2-Stroke Yamaha Banshee Engine, which in my banshee on an ATV Dyno, made 88-rwhp on 91 Octane, and 102-rwhp on 100 Octane.

I have a 421 cub in a rz350. It's supposed to make about same #'s . Porting by Nate McCoy and shearer pipes

Just my 2 cents, loved the video and the build. Keep up the great work
True and accurate readings, I’d be willing to bet that the dragster is pushin 40 HP and 50 ft-lbs to the wheels.
I think the dragster is hands down your best build. It’s awesome! You’ve put a lot of work into that, be proud of what you’ve accomplished.
Now either turbo or strap a Aisin amr300 supercharger to it and see what kind of power gains you can get!
a google user supercharger
That would be awesome if they put that supercharger on it
ive been saying a amr for the last 4 months .... they are cheap to and should hook up easy ....
rob burdack yeah man they are so stinking easy to fab up as a draw through set up I bet Ike could do it in an afternoon! Plus they are super cheap and easy to get on eBay! They are perfectly designed for that size engine.
a google user yeah that would be amazing

Cars n cameras. That was one of my favorite episodes. The mini atv Dyno pull was awesome. Thanks for the laughs. Keep it up guys. Thanks, Mud Pimp
Being a kiwi i not really into Harleys but in this case i strongly believe a big Harley engine with efi is the way to go.
I think moving to some sort of motorcycle v-twin would be smarter. Built in clutch, built in gear box, and probably more parts availability. Not to mention much more power..
Liam Tobey they aren’t gunna do that they like slow shit and wasting money
dixie chopper motor
They've said it before, they wanted to see how much could be gotten out of a 670 because strapping a street bike engine on and going fast is too easy
Go Power Sports doesn't sell stuff for motorcycles.
Honestly, the dragster was not super impressive. The ATV made up for it!
What's next for it
And we need to put the original 670 on the Dyno to compare
CarsandCameras y'all can bring your toys here and ride sometime I'm in NC too I gotta old 3 wheeler here and a makeshift go kart we can play on
Time for a turbo?
Put the old miata engine in the dragster!!!!!!!!!
Buy pattle tires for dragster and take it to silver lake sand dunes
John's reaction was priceless during the atv dyno run.
They sell the little tachometer for these engines that wrap around the spark plug to read the rpm, maybe try and look into those so you can see how high up she’ll go and then once that’s figured out try and calculate everything now that you have a specific rpm that it’ll go to. That is probably the coolest toy I have ever seen guys...
DEW IT FOR DALE! HELL YEAH BROTHER
Wrong channel...
you guys are pulling a DRAGSTER behind your truck!!!!!!!!!! that is SOOOO cool!!!!
Jons face on the dyno= one of the funniest things to see this February.
all and all i am glad nothing went bad looks good all the way around cant wait to see more
The looks on your faces had me rolling. Absolutely priceless.
I find it a really cool idea to put these kind of vehicles on a dyno, because I've never seen anybody do that before.
you guys are really nice and thorough with your explanation, make everybody feel welcome while still calling them out "dont believe these jackshafts work? come to the track and see for yourself!" you guys are too funny
Why not put an 883 or 1200 harley engine in the drag rail and be done with it? It's awesome what you have done, but something like that needs a bigger engine
Or an S&S 125hp v-twin.
Any motorcycle engine would be a huge upgrade over an industrial engine.
Agreed
MegaEtown, ur idea accept with a smog pump blower
huabusa engine it needs with turbo
You guys are choking the rev band with that intake. Switch it to a velocity stack!
Lj Saldana agreed, stack would be better.
One of your best episodes. Had a blast watching it!
Definitely proud to have been with these guys since day one
I’ll watch this when I can, at school.
T2NATE VIDEOS watching in school rn😂😂
The ATV was Sick. I was laughing my Arse off. Thanks for another awesome video guys! Zip~
Love the spunky 90' rap twang!!!! Sweet!!!
The dragster sounded great! Sounded to me like about 7,500-8,000 rpm. It was really turning.
Thats good numbers for whp considering all the chains. Props to powershifting that ATV like a boss.
The mini 4 wheeler looked like a a blast. It would be cool if there was a multi gear transmission that could fit the predator motor. That would make it a blast!

The little fourwheeler was hilarious lol
Dude that was the most angry box of bees I seen on a dyno in a long time, I fell over laughing, still a great vid guys. Can't wait for another little atv for ike. And a race soon !!!!
Top Fuel Harley engine would be a killer addition.
Dam, that thing looks amazing with that paint!
Doug the type of guy to Would you please give my racing channel a Subscribe I have plenty of videos for you to enjoy
12:53 Reminded me of the NASCAR restart!!
love the driving music. so much better than crap most people use.
Love the banner in the background with Cooter on it !!
You all are awesome, dynoing those vehicles, who'd a thought.
place a harley transmission with clutch and five speeds
Hell. Yes.
Yes. Only one chain needed and one belt or chain. No 291 jacksafts :D
That is a bad to the bone badass play toy and love the way it sounds so good
I learned something.. the torques are impressive. A test for convertor versus gears is both the dragster and atv lined up in the eight.. torques are the same. John's face on the first ATV pull 😂😂😂
That’s a nice burban looks very well taken care of
The first couple pulls it sounded like it was falling on its face a bit down low but once it got up in the rpms it sounded pretty good..I wonder if maybe its a little bit lean down low..regardless its pretty damn sweet and would be solo much fun..
That would beat a normal muscle car off the showroom floor back in the 60 to 80s! Wow dudes! Awesome awesome!👏😂👍👀
You Nuts should find a motorcycle dino to test those things on. Very funny video! You hit this one out of the park! CRACK! It's Going! It's Going! IT'S OUTTA' HERE!
I liked the Ben Jones banner on the wall. Cooter from the Dukes of Hazzard. 73 from TEXAS.
once again add a chain tensioner idler sprocket
I agree the dyno will not give you accurate reading on the dragster or the 4 wheeler the way the dyno is setup' I agree that the jack shaft is not creating a lot of drag Its a shame there's not a small engine dyno around you to see what the 670 is really making. Did the torque converter ratios mess up the Dyno numbers
pico67ss I would assume so because it's a constant variable gear ratio based on rotating mass. Can't ever get the true 1:1 gear ratio
think if you take one front seat out of the suburban and one side of the rearbenches you can prolly load the dragster in there AND close the doors , only downside that any passenger is sitting behind the driver

Great job! Rail paint job looks so cool. IDK horsepower on your predator but it sounds awesome! Maybe build a chopper with one in future?
You know I have built a few hypo mini bike motors and the way to get a lot of power is to put an oversized carb on the engine. You guys need to do like a Harley Davidson motor swap like an evo 80inch with gear box and belt drive now that would be awesome
Loved the old school Compton type beat.
Go with a 600 ninja. That would be amazing to see. Just any high power motorcycle engine preferably high revs.
This was one of my favorite videos i loved seeing the quad on the dyno
Best video yet. I laughed so hard at the ATV dyno. On a serious note, it sounds like the drag's ignition is breaking up? It could definitely be tuned I THINK. Just judging from the sound when you first romped on it. I do love how it sounds up top.
Probably has no advance
guys extend dat frame an get a good bike motor on it with a trans .an mount it behind the seat if u want wheel stands .use a hand clutch an shifter or foot clutch to get it rolling an then a elec or air shifter to get it down track with button on wheel dat be awesome
Super pumped to see the shifter kart build. Ive been hoping you guys would build one since the rat rod wagon build.
That was awesome! that dragster sounded good I don’t know how you could get an accurate number with a Torque converter the four wheeler maid my day.
Easier to load it backward and lift the front end. And is the jackshaft perpendicular to the axle both horizonally and vertically? If not it could help throw the chain.

Puffalupagus360
well the real mini dragsters are only 1 cylinder and tiny CC wise
Time for a turbo guys
I love that suburban!!!!
thanks
Squares for life!
I was waiting on the boom on the atv, but she held together. It looked to me like the primary chain is still hitting the torque converter at high speeds a bit.... wonder if you could make a guard to go down in there to help that.....
the boosted boiz did it with their kart and seemed pretty acurate. but the torque converter probably screws with it the most
Guessing the jack shafts are losing < 5hp but it is also dependent on RPM. Guessing if you remove the torque converter and add a chain you'll get more correct numbers ('clutch'). man ya'll's faces when on the dyno is priceless
You guys have the life. I just wanna be part of the crew.
That green arrow on wheels is nasty!
Y'all need to put a gearbox on it it will fix all your problems
Jacob Friedlander spending all that money and not in the right place gopowersports needs to get it together and sell a multiple gear stand alone transmission for these 4 cycles
*9:20** WTF... we caught it Isaac !!!*
LMFAO !!!
Yeaaaa man, his sound it is the best.
The dragster could use the salad bowl from engine masters
carl barnes Would you Please give my Racing channel a Subscribe
no.
carl barnes,YES!!!! THE SALAD BOWL FROM THE AIR FILTER SHOOTOUT!!!!!
Time to ditch the predator engines guys. You guys have surpassed that point now. Gotta work with big motors!
Propane and propane accessories they haven’t even got to a turbo or nitrous install yet. Just chill already!!
Ed H They have a turbo drift trike.
I was gunna say nitrous till it blows. And then do like a ninja 750 engine
Just add a 2 stroke engine
Well if someone has a GSXR or 'Busa laying around to donate. Just hope they don't murder themselves with so much speed.
Can not get over how it sounds
Y’all should name the dragster gold standard and put a dollar decal on the gold air intake. Because that thing is money!!!
14:35 - *well the rings are seated* ...almost died of laugh
DUDES i know your smart an i know you know that you are losing hella horse power, with the chain's even 10 TO 15hp is so much ,lose the chain's an the wheelies will come FAST ..i love it ,keep em coming

I'm sure it can be made to work with go karts. Seriously you guys can build your own dyno to have and test everything you build without even having to leave the house.

i thought it would make closer to 34hp I bet that torque converter has something to do with it
Noah Ferrari There's some loss with it. What they should get is a race clutch.
Ratkill9000 A clutch won't work unless they have a transmission. Maybe they can figure out a way to hook up an old gear box like from a model a they are only about 16x10 inches total
John, Isaac, I think you are losing far more through the torque converter than you are through the jackshafts.
