Dixie is one of the first hiking TH-camrs I started watching and I adore her. She’s smart, funny, and as a Floridian, I really respect that she did the Florida trail. One of the best hiking series ever. Another that should be added is Catherine Gregory, she’s an artist, really fantastic. 💕 also love Jupiter, and he did the Florida trail too. 💕

Hi. I would have put Dixie higher on the list, she is the real deal and agenda free. I would put Eric Hanson in the top 10, he does a nice mix of content. I have to join the rest and promote Jupiter, such great down to earth content. A different twist, Amanda Outside does hiking, Back Packing, car camping and a lot of great food, a real mix. Paul Messner for British content. A well deserved #1 for Miranda, I think she helps to make the outdoors accessible.

Woo Buddy, don't forget Shug. Hands down the best personality period. After all, he is a retired clown. Most of his content revolves around hammock camping, but he's worth the watch. Sintax77 and Adventure Archives were already mentioned. Adventure Archives do the best editing on TH-cam.

The Hungry Hiker is awesome! Spectacular scenery and her food videos are great. The Gear Skeptic is AMAZING- his series on ultralight nutrition can help you practically cut your pack weight in half. If you want to wander outside of the US, Muddy Bootlaces never fails to exude pure joy even when in pain all while educating on the importance of LNT and advocating for preserving wild camping where it is truly under threat of being banned. I must be doing something right, seven out of your ten are regular suppliers to my ever growing knowledge base. You did miss one of the best however, Lone Wolf 902, from Nova Scotia. Great videos, fantastic locations and very experienced, I also think Eric Hanson from Backpacking TV should also be in the top ten, his experience and knowledge of all things camping and hiking is simply incredible. I also like the fact that he and Dan Becker sometimes do hikes together, always interesting! I have now subscribed to your channel, bring it on!

Ken, Your choosing a backpack video is probably the best “gear” type video I’ve ever seen. Very engaging to the brain, with a surprise wow factor ending. It’s what got me to subscribe, and I love your content ever since.
You hit on a lot of my fav channels too - I like a few of the bigger ones and some smaller ones too. I’m surprised you didn’t mention Sintax77 as an OG guy, as he hikes up in the Whites a lot. Crazy how he’ll drive 12 hours from Delaware for 2 night weekend trips. I love Bryce Newbold too! Probably my favorite of your 10. I’ve also been a Kyle Hates Hiking fan from even before his TH-cam days. His podcasts are outstanding with a variety of guests. Anyway another great vid! Thanks for the content.
I may start doing gear vids soon as Lord knows I’ve accumulated a ton. I’ve filmed a few of my hikes on my channel TerryHikes, my fav being the Smokies last summer and Zion a couple years ago.

@@rootsandpeaks no problem! Be careful though, Sintax77 is a rabbit hole you can't get out of haha. He's a hammock nerd and loves his Dutchware gear. But you'll love all his White Mountain vids. He also did a hike with Kyle Hates Hiking a few years ago in the Catskills, that's a good one to see both their perspectives. He goes on a ton of solo trips, in every season. He'll throw on a 40 lb pack and hike the snow in the Whites, or he'll do an ultralight in the Smokies in the summer. Lots of variety. He takes his wife along sometimes too, those are fun big pack and "luxury item" type trips. Enjoy.

Hi - I’m in the U.K. and have watched virtually all these US content makers and have enjoyed them immensely but it would seem that the reverse, I.e US residents watching U.K. content doesn’t apply. Which is a shame because there are some really great U.K. content makers - Murray at ‘Scotland’s Mountains’, Abbie Barnes, Liam Brown, Paul Messner, Bushman and Blue and last but by no means least, Haze Outdoors to name but a few. Sure, they take a somewhat different approach to US hikers and certainly with three of those there’ll be some adjusting to the accents (Bushman and Hazey literally speak my language!) but they are worth the effort. All are brilliantly shot too which doesn’t hurt.
