This is a very good video of my beautiful, beloved home state! However, you spent way too much time in the STL area and didn't even showcase St. Charles! There's beautiful architecture in St. Joseph, north of Kansas City on the Missouri River, and the beautiful Ozarks in the southern part of the state. Springfield, MO is the Queen City of the Ozarks! There's the Ozark National Scenic Riverways in the south central part of the state. Please come back and do another video!

While I found this interesting I think those unfamiliar with Missouri would be very confused. You moved back and forth as though sites in Kansas City and St Louis were both in one city or the other.
The answer is Harry Truman. I live just a few miles from his home on Truman Rd. The street signs have his image walking because he walked the streets everyday visiting with people.
Spile Lake? I don’t understand why that was featured. That’s just what amounts to a 27 acre pond outside of Horton. There are so many other things in Missouri worth pointing out, natural or man-made, that should make a video like this. On top of that, I’m pretty sure the shots in the video aren’t even of Spile Lake, but of Hubler Lake to the south.
Having been born and raised in Kansas City, I just feel compelled to point out that I left there because I wanted to move somewhere that was a more outdoor friendly area. I never found Kansas City as such and certainly never felt comfortable or safe, when out walking. Trying out any of the so-called hiking trails around the city was never safe and I’m sure it’s riskier now. St Louis and Kansas City have that concern in common sadly.
@ You are a male, yes? That’s in your favor. There are risks to any urban trail in every city I’m sure. I mostly walked north of the River in KC as well. Tried a trail down by the zoo and another near to the plaza. Very uncomfortable so didn’t go back. Its not the wildlife that is a concern.

It’s nice to see some recognition, but the shame now is the “outsiders” if you will coming in and literally trashing the country sides and waters, YES! I’ve seen it, Illinois people, California people, St. Louis people, yes we call them “outsiders” because for one they are NOT FRIENDLY people for the most part. I’ve been here all my life and A LOT has changed. You’ve covered some beautiful areas, now travel the small town back roads, where we’re trying to keep it simple yet others want to trash… and local law enforcement could care less anymore. Webster county is one of them too. Bad place to live, so we moved…. Southern areas are taken over by out of state peeps too… but they come here for all the wrong reasons, that’s another sad part. You also forgot Jefferson City, St.Charles, Fetus, Washington, Louisiana, Clarksville, Kirksville, St.Joseph, Springfield, Branson, Joplin, Ste.Genevieve, and Cape Girardeau. You also forgot Johnson Shut N's and Taum Saulk Mountain (the highest point in Missouri coming in at 1,772 feet above sea level).
As someone who lives in Harry S. Trumans birth town, the one in Independence isn't his true home town. Just adopted as such. His bith town is located in the Joplin area.
It’s the same with a lot of our historical places. Elvis Presley’s birthplace was not on the east side of town. It was located in the heart of the ghetto on church street, In the Hood! Yet, the city couldn’t have tourist getting robbed etc in the hood so they moved the house to the east side of town and sold a different story. Over time ppl believed the hype…… Yet when my grandmother was alive she went to school with him and said he lived on church street. She would go to his house and hang out with all the other kids. Grandmas house was right on the rail road tracks. Whites still live on one side and blacks on the other. You have a few of the other types on the opposite sides yet, the majority of the community is still the same way it was decades ago. Same old small one room house shacks as some would call it. Yet, if everyone slept in the same room now DHS would have a fit….. Now that they have cleaned all the old shacks out of the east side. You can tell how out of place it really is!
