It's nice to hear De Niro talk about his career in reflective mood.

Much Respect for the Great Robert Deniro....many many great roles that are still powerful today...he is truly top 3-5 best actors Ever in Cinema

I believe his career from 1973-1997 was his best years. He appeared in so many brilliant films during that time and took method acting to the next level.

Jackie Brown and Cop Land (minor roles) were the last good movies he was in.....

@rampageclover9788 Agreed. One could argue even earlier in 1995 with Heat and Casino being the last truelly great films of his imo.

@@joestimemachine6454 Casino and Heat are definitely HIS last good movies.....I just love Jackie Brown and Cop Land but need to acknowledge he's in them but not a formidable presence

@rampageclover9788 I love both Copland and Jackie Brown too. Unpopular opinion, but I consider Jackie Brown to be Tarantino's best film and has a wonderful DeNiro performance that gets better the more you watch it. It's a quiet performance but filled with so many hilarious subtleties that can be hard to catch at first.

As I see it, the interviewer could have been found on a level suitable to robert he already knows how many films he's made and how many awards - you should have asked more about the life situation in the family and so on and moved on to the films.

I agree. It was just him going over the basic stuff everybody already knows. I would have liked more in depth real talk. And more questions about films that are not talked about much. We all know about taxi driver and raging bull.
I would have liked question about bang the drum slowly and once upon a time in America. Which is imo the best film ever. What was Sergei Leone like and the rumour that he was planning another film before his death that was suppose to star deniro.
Any films he regrets doing and why.
A dream project that slipped away or something he always wanted to do.

@@mikebones4428yea Once upon a time in America is one of the most beautiful films of all time and arguably the most poetic and beautifully written film. If i didn't get it wrong i think Cinema Paradiso 1988 took a big reference on it.

@@leophan2049 it’s the greatest movie I have ever seen. Sergeo turned down the godfather and took over a decade to work on that film.
