I started fermenting my feed about 2 years ago and it's really helped with the flock's health and appetite. Not as much wasted feed! I've been thinkiing about going to mixing my own instead of using processed/bagged feeds. It sounds like sprouting would be a good intermediary step for me while I try to clear space and get the supplies for maybe making my own. It's looking like I'll be growing my flock over the next couple of years because of my plans, longterm, and anything that helps to cut costs while keeping them healthy and happy is a good idea.
