Well, the application is limited to high school seniors. If you applied as a senior and got a HSSP scholarship you would have to activate it by a certain date or lose it. That date would not allow for a gap year. There might be a waiver, but I’m unaware of one.
My son just got home from FT. He said he didn't do well. His ranking was 340 out of 375. However he has 3.95 Gpa, 95 pt, 98 AFOQT, 99 PCSM. Does he still have a chance at getting a pilot slot?
With a 99 PCSM he does have a good chance of getting a pilot slot. PCSM has the most weight of any other factor. That plus his GPA and PFA I would be surprised if he didn't get selected for pilot.
Hi. I am not sure about this. There weren’t any USSF scholarships when I left ROTC. My guess would be that it would be reboarded to both AF and SF. Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful.
Hi sir , i am looking to apply for afrotc but i have some question can you help with me that , what are main thinks that i should focus on more and at what afrotc look for and should i apply for rotc at age 17 in high school.
You have to be enrolled at a college that has AFROTC. Once you are in the program just do the best that you can. Volunteer for the extra curricular activities. The most important thing is to get good grades though. Make sure to study and get the GPA up. That is the best way to stand out in AFROTC. There isn't much that will help you at the high school level other than getting a good ACT/SAT score.
Hello Sir, Do you know if they air force will continue to give out icsp after field training for the upcoming years or was it a one time thing?
I talked with the current cadre and cadets last month and it is still in effect. I think the intention was to make it permanent.
Hello! What happens to cadets who apply for the HSSP but want to take a gap year?
