For those whom are not electricians nor handy (I am both), you less than half way explained what you were doing and why. You did not explain why they're tied together and most importantly never showed why actually powers the multiple lights. In this case it was supposed to be a light switch that already is a power source and how you tied it into that. Where is the light receptacle? Where is the toggle switch?? You have to complete the process, bro.
So to wire the light in the middle… do you take the black wire from that light, the black from the switch, and the black from the end light, and twist them together in a wire nut? So 3 wires in one nut? Same with neutral?
@@DailyElectriciani have it where the wire from breaker goes to a outlet then to another outlet then to a light switch and light but when i turn the light off it trips the breaker why is that happening.
Thank you for teaching and sharing. When you connect your ground wires I find it best to use a green wire nut which has a hole in the top that way you don't have to add a pigtail because your long wire simply sticks out saving saving a minute or two :-)
So if you want to add a third or fourth light, you would just pigtail the second light to the third and from the third to the fourth light, and so on if you want more than 4 lights?
Can I do this with ten lights wired in series like this operated by a sliding dimmer switch? I want to add nine LED cans to my garage. My plan is to simply daisy chain off the existing single light and add the dimmer-slider. Yes I want them all in same switch/leg.
For someone doing this on their own not working for a company or meeting a code do you think it would be ok to cut the ground wires down to the end of the splice to have more room/ less excess
Would be fine yes. But u don’t wanna cut to short…. What if switch goes bad and or you replace it and need more wire?…. Always do a “service loop” for you or the next guy.
@@DailyElectrician Hello, sorry novice to all this so I might be using the wrong terminology. I was wondering if the wiring would also apply to lighting that is controlled by 2 switches. thanks!

I was just trying to install 2 new vanity lamps in my bathroom in the existing electrical connections, one box have 4 wires and the other just 2 and only one switch, I attach together both black wires and I have 120 v in the second box, however when I attached together the 2 white wires my breaker jumped, for some reason in the second box the white wire is always grounded, I always have continuity between my ground and neutral cables…
Hey quick question, how long was the process for you between submitting your application and starting your first paid day in ur apprenticeship? Also did u go the IBEW route?
I’ll tell you right now, he definitely was not a union guy until here just recently. He made a video about joining the union and has been there for few months now.
I have the exact opposite, My switch controls a light in the shower and a vent fan in the bathroom, I need to remove the vent fan and make that hot and just keep the switch for the light, would I disconnect the wires from the light or the switch?

Where's the light fixtures??? It would be nice if you actually attached the fixtures to the wires. Anybody can run wires into a box and fold them up. Poorly titled video that doesn't address the situation. Thumbs down.
Listen don't feel bad TH-cam's not for everybody by the way I hope you do electrical work better than you do TH-cam otherwise some poor family somewhere in big trouble
That was way more confusing than it needed to be and you didn't even show what you said you were going to demonstrate. You didn't wire up anything. You just put wires in boxes and didn't explain what got tied to what or where they went on the fixtures. Sorry, but not good.
When are you going to show us how to hook up 2 lights like the title of your video says. This video is about hooking up two lights you didn't show how to hook up two lights you talked about wires and possibilities. A video about pig farming would be more helpful.
read the title again. says nothing about installing lights, says wiring. this is wiring. sorry. i wouldn't need to show you how to hook up 2 lights if i just show you once anyways
U didn’t wire the lights? How do u attach lights like the title of this video suggest
Exactly, this video showed how to strip and stiff wires…nothing more.

Sorry but that's not what this video was about
I agree the video is incomplete. You didn’t wire a light! You placed some wires in an electrical box. Misleading title.
alright, move on with your life I guess 🤷🏻♂️
I think the point is that wiring the lights and switch themselves is almost given. In relevance to this video.
That wasn’t the point of the video. It’s a how to not a class
I am more confused now than when I first came here 🤦♂️
Same here. No demonstration of wiring the first light and from there connecting the second light.

Ok. Now, when we install the light fixture into that middle box, please show how to wire that.
Thx !
So if you want to add a third or fourth light, you would just pigtail the second light to the third and from the third to the fourth light, and so on if you want more than 4 lights?
Yes if you want all of them on 1 switch
correct

Wait so you could just pigtail with a wire nut?
You don’t need the linesmen pliers?
correct

Is this a multi part series ??? I thought I was going to see a switch and lights get wired up.
Can you daisy chain another light to the second new light and so on?
yep
Can you explain what a pick tail is?
A pig tail is just taking 2 or more wires and combining them down to one
So if I wanted to run a third light. I could repeat this process by tying into the 2nd light?
yep!
would this process be the same for adding another light to a current 2-pole circuit? TY
2 pole circuit? like 277 volt lights?
@@DailyElectrician Hello, sorry novice to all this so I might be using the wrong terminology. I was wondering if the wiring would also apply to lighting that is controlled by 2 switches. thanks!
yes and no, depends how it is wired inside the walls.
Also I want to connect 6 recessed led lights to 1 switch..would I use the same method?
yes, for easiest results
So what if you can’t get to the light but can get to the switch? Can you wire it into the switch instead?
yeah

I have a question. I'm trying to build a guitar side bender using 3 pony cleat sockets. Do you know of a video I could use to wire these three up?
How do you add a 3rd light fixture? 3rd to 2nd or 3rd to 1st?
you can tap off either one

Don’t you need your line for the switch ? And obviously your switch leg?
yes, but this video is not about that
