Yes, Dele was. Unfortunately, he was on the decline near the end of Poch's reign - he was always a poor trainer (as articulated by Poch & witnessed by Mourinho), and a player of great moments in matches.
He also failed to improve and adapt his game year after year. Look at the likes of Son and Kane. It's a shame, and hope somehow he can recapture his best form, and enjoy his football again.

Players enjoying playing a style of football, something which the last two managers knew nothing about. Serial winners I don't think so.
Spurs haven't yet replaced the Alli and Eriksen goals from MF , and the stability of the Verts and Toby in defense . Instead since Poch , Levy employed coaches who only cared about not conceeding goals , but without the defenders to do so .
We've now replaced Eriksen with maddison, Vertonghen with VDV, Alderweireld with romero, rose with udogie, Trippier/walker with Porro, Dembele with bissouma, wanyama with Sarr, Moura with Solomon and Dele with Johnson.
I also think the additions with Kulusevski, Bentancur, Lo Celso and Gil makes us stronger than we were under Poch.
We have a bright future under Ange😍
@@Emanny360dembele is that one magical player who can't be replaced. He was highly influential on the field evading press which can never be quantified. Yes bissouma is somewhat a replacement but there will be no another dembele
AHH man... Seeing trips play.. I've never seen a right back. His crossing arguably better than Beckham's.. first time, on the volley, at speed, doesn't matter, he nails it every time.

This is called one touch football. Each player being aware of each other, Making runs into the box driving forward. Its done on the training pitch. A manager who cares about the players and works with them can do it.

I'd love to see him back again although I'm not sure we have the same quality of player we had back then. Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Lamela, Tripper and particularly Eriksen have all been huge losses and have never been replaced. But the style of football we played was fantastic. I'll be sad to see Lucas Moura go, I really like him but he obviously doesn't fit in anymore which is a shame, that night vs Ajax will forever be imprinted in my memory.
I agree on the Moura part (and other parts), was sad to see the red card he got vs Everton
If truth be told, this makes Conte's tactics look utterly mechanical and predictable. I recall with fondness how teams used to fear playing Spurs because the boys wouldn't give the opposition a moment to breath. Beautiful attacking football, wave after wave.

Those were good times, nice football. Notice the movement off the ball, numbers getting forward, and none of this continually nocking the ball back. I wish Mr Levy would watch this, I’d like to think he would change his mind and get Poch back.

You guys think it was the manager, partly yes but also look at the quality of our midfield. Erisken, dele in his prime, Lamela, lo celso, ndombele. Even trippier!! The quality of midfield determines the style of play and attacking threat. Remember when bentancur was flying high before the injury!
Bring him back. He should have been backed, not sacked. Levy and the top managements are a bunch of bell-ends.
Dembele and Eriksen were crucial to that side, they were never replaced. Poch is a great manager but it's hard to steer a ship without an engine room. Skipp & Pape Matar Sar have potential but we need a manager to develope players, not one that throws tantrums cos they aren't ready made. Poch was willing to do it back then but with the likes of Real Madrid sniffing around and having been at PSG, would he be willing now?

Brilliant players at peak age, fitness and hunger though. Poch can do well again, but be aware he might want rid of Kane and Son now as they don't have the legs they used to. Poch don't have a magical system that is superior, he needs the right tools.
What's the point? Levy wouldn't back him the first time, it would be the same old same old for Poch. Any return would be for money because trophies wouldn't be part of the deal.
Trouble is we need the players as well.

I love Poch,don't get me wrong but winning nothing with this group of player make me realized that he isn't a winner.
He didn't win anything cos to be competitive in all competitions you need a squad. Poch was never fully backed and levy didn't sign any players for two windows cos of stadium. So we had 11 quality players. The rest were so so and that's why we didn't win.
