I loved your video and all your projects. I cannot imagine how good it feels to have so much completed on Rose Trellis Inn. I had a particularly trying weekend and just saw this video on May 19th. When Gary was wishing everyone Happy Mothers Day and said “I hope you have good kids.”, that gave me the most healing, much needed laugh. Thank you so much for that. I am happy that Summer found a good home with you.

Um, yes, I would absolutely LOVE to stitch our kits together! The timeline works for me as well. I’d like to get a couple of larger finishes done before starting her, so a year or more works just fine.

I don't know how vigilant Sophie was. In fact, there may be disciplinary action. The snoring that started midway through the video was her taking a nap while on duty. Hahaha!

Hi Amy and Gary. It was lovely to meet Summer and see Bear. My son and his partner have a baby German Shepherd who is keeping them super busy also! He's a lot 😂.

GSD puppies are SO cute! I love how their ears flop down when they are still really young. Bear's did too, but not for long. I'm both jealous that your son and his partner are getting all the sweet baby snuggles and relieved to be missing out on most of the puppy antics. It's not quite like having a human infant to care for, but I remember feeling like I just couldn't get anything done when Bear and Sophie were pups. It's a good thing for puppies that they're so cute; if not, we'd be tempted to commit unspeakable crimes.

I'm so sorry, Shelly. We are sending you love and some very gentle fur baby kisses. Losing a furry family member is always hard, and I'm so sorry for the sadness and loss you are going through. The hole they leave behind them is far bigger than the space their sweet little bodies take up. I dread it. I pray you find comfort and am glad little Summer sent some your way.

Proud to represent 1/3rd of your international viewers 😅. Jokes aside we also extended the pack and got a puppy for our senior dog. They are slowly adjusting and my husband is guarding his board games collection non stop 😅. Greetings from Bulgaria ❤.
Hahaha! Hello, Bulgaria! This comment is awesome! Congrats on the new puppy! The adjustment period can take a while, especially with a more sedate senior. Summer sometimes needs a little crate time to regulate her enthusiasm when she isn't getting the "ease off" hint. Best of luck to your husband in keeping his game pieces safe!
A thought: maybe gridding ten stitch squares with a bright color of nylon thread would help with the Louis Armstrong piece. The ten stitch squares matching the lines marked on the chart help me as reference marks. Less frogging 😊

First of all I love Summer! What a sweet face! And as always love your videos! Gary, I feel your pain concerning Summers “OOPS”. My grand dog (Husky/ Alaskan Klee Kia) has now destroyed cookbooks, socks and shoes and loves to eat any butter left on the counter! I love her dearly but boy would she be in the dog house if she went near my cross stitch! A year old Husky is a handful!

I'm over on the Kitsap peninsula, so getting down to the Tacoma area always feels so much easier than going into Seattle or the Eastside. When you're ready, just let me know, but no rush! Having a little to care for is all consuming. ❤

@@TheSeattleStitcher I'm sure there is. There's another Flosstuber who lives in Kent (LadyRobynS) who works for the King County library system. I know she periodically sets up stitching meetups in her library, but I've never been able to make it over for one.
I cannot do that ladder stitch no matter how often I try. Love that pillow sweet finish. Oh winter rose manor is great! Ohh she is so adorable. Is she part boer? She looks a good bit like my daughter’s boxer. Ohhh… I don’t dare show Lisa as her dog (not boxer,he passed 6 yrs ago) passed this March. She was our dog’s litter sister. However, now would not be the time to suggest a puppy as she found out shes due for her 3rd baby in Nov.❤. Bye guys and pack❤
We think she is part boxer, part beagle and part black mouth cur. But she's 100% velociraptor. LOL.
I'm so sorry to hear your daughter recently lost a dog. That's so difficult! But you're right; bringing a new dog in - especially a young one - when you've got a baby on the way is not a great idea. Congratulations to her (and you!) on her new little one!

Summer is a lap dog for sure. Mind you, a big lap dog, but she sure is happy in that position, and she’s looking right into the camera. She’s a darling.
She sure is. She has already turned into a wonderful stitching pal. Just tucks into my side and puts her head on my lap while I stitch. It's really sweet.
My son lost a lot of his acting figures when we got our new puppy.
I'm sorry! I hope he didn't lose any that were major favorites! It's amazing how quickly a puppy can wreak havoc with those little needle teeth in the early months.
Will you keep her name as Summer?
We debated it, but we decided we didn't want to confuse her by changing it. It's not the name we would have picked if she had come to us younger, but we've never felt comfortable with renaming a dog once they're a bit older and know their name. :)
