Just now tripped across this video... awesome! Thanks for posting. I also have a 182 for no other reason than having fun, love airplane camping, based on a grass strip in Northeast Texas, and would love to go exploring those strips, I've been wanting to go to Gaston's and Byrds for a while but haven't made it up there yet. Maybe we will cross paths and fly together someday.
Thank you! Definitely make the trip up there, it's a two hour flight from Dallas but even less from where you're at. Very, very fun place to fly. If you can combine it with a river floating / fishing trip that's even better. The outfitters (there are two) at Trigger Gap will pick you up from the airfield, but if you want something with accommodations then Gaston's is the way to go. I've got a video landing at both Byrds and Gastons if you look in my video list. Always helps to review the approaches before you go in there. Thanks!
I stumbled on your channel and now I’m excited to see several times that you’ve mentioned NW Arkansas. I’m 22 hours into my PPL and I live here in NWA. I hope to run into you one day.
We live in nwa and fly out of kasg. Thanks so much for posting this. I would love to fly in and meet up with you. I haven’t been to birds yet either but have flown over it a few times. My wife and I took our 182 to Gaston’s a couple weeks ago for our anniversary and had a great time. Splitting the trees on final was a little nerve racking but it wasn’t bad. Very smooth grass strip too. Also check out 3O9 over on grand lake. They have a cool little airport right on the lake with some great burgers. Keep up the great videos and feel free to reach out next time you’re back in our area. I’d be glad to buy you lunch. Kvbt is pretty close to my house.
Thanks for the comment and the offer, I really appreciate it! LOVE flying around out there. Wanting to do it more. I will have to check out 3O9. You live in a beautiful area.
------WOW SO GLAD I FOUND YOUR CHANNEL------ Really appreciate the info, I’m a new pilot and I never knew about thE RAF ! MERRY CHRISTMAS 2019 👍🏻 HAPPY HEALTHY NEW YEAR 2020 👍🏻
I used to do some hunting around Northeast Texas, close to the Arkansas boarder. It's beautiful country up that way. I am hoping to get my pilot's certificate next year... cause, you know, 2020. I love that 182, maybe you cans do a review and show it off a bit. I would love to see the luggage area.
Yes it's beautiful up there and not enough people are talking about it. Eastern and southeastern Oklahoma, Western and northwestern Arkansas, etc. etc.... amazing country.
Hey Charlie, when do you plan on going back that way? Im looking to meet up with more people in the aviation community to fly and hang out with. It seems to be more popular up north than in the south! We need more of this type of aviation in the south!! Flying,Short camping trips and hanging out !!
I was hoping to go this fall and the calendar didn't work out. Probably next spring (2022) then! I want to check out some strips they have been working on out there and do some filming.
Be encouraged....Regardless of what happens to this country we as Christians win in the end. God is on the throne he is in control. He is going to remove the church one day and he will let them have what they want. Then he will open the seals of judgment! He did not give us a sprit of Fear! Psalm 37-13 but the Lord laughs at the wicked, for he sees that his day is coming.
Heck yeah! Arkansas has some amazing short fields and places to fly into.
Very cool Nice presentation thanks a bunch for the Airport Info you guys Rock ! 🫡🇺🇸😊
That area has top-notch motorcycle roads and is literally a world-class mountain biking destination.
It's a beautiful place!
Gastons is so much fun! I’m in SW Missouri so I love taking the 35 minute flight down for some steak and lobster
I am a new subscriber!! Thanks for a neat plane camping information video!!👍👍🤜

Agreed. RAF sounds awesome! That’s also the Acronym for the Queen’s Air Force (Royal Air Force)
This is where I learned to fly! I got my PPL at KASG! Ive landed at trigger gap at least 50 times!
Awesome! What a beautiful place to fly... jealous you got to learn there and utilize it so much!
Good video. When it cools off a little gonna take my Cherokee up there from T67
Absolutely! I'm going in October. Gorgeous country up there.
Also, do you mind if we include this video on the information page on Trigger Gap in the Airfield.Guide?
That would be great! Glad to help any way I can.
