    I’m not surprised.
    I’m a woman of 58 years now.
When I was around 20 years, I n for navy recruitment. Myself and my friend that went were both tall. We were both shortlisted. But right there those of us shortlisted were given an address of hotel to come to if we want to get through.
    Of course I didn’t go.
My thoughts then was if this could start now, I don’t need anyone to tell me what life will be like if I eventually get in the navy.
There are a lot of sexual harassment of women everywhere in Nigeria.

In Japan last year, a cadet guy killed his senior officer and wounded others during shooting training. He turned his face at his boss and killed him on the spot. He was only 21 yrs. Growing up as a young boy, m close friend got admitted into NDA, Jaji, Kaduna but left in the second year. I was super furious that he left because it was automatic way to riches. Its now that I realized that there is no substitute to happiness. My friend would complain bitterly how badly treated he got in Nigeria Defense Academy. May be we would have lost him either physically or mentally if he had not made that beautiful choice.
If anyone facing oppression, SPEAK OUT!!! I hope and pray this lady get help.....Hmmm, even Mohbad with all he cries NEVER got help. nigeria JAGAJAGA!!!

If the army lady was to be a sister to the army spoke person, will be say she acted unprofessionally? This was how Lance Corporal Sunday Adelola, allegedly raped a 300-level student of the Department of Religous and African Studies of the AAUA, at a military checkpoint along Ikare Akoko-Akungba Akoko road in 2019. Infact there must be a proper positioning of the Nigerian army and other security agencies.

The Nigeria army is grossly undisciplined.
The long years of their involvement in politics ( military rule) affected their ability to nurture soldiers who have respect for good conducts.
Take for example, the road the civilian used with them.
They drive recklessly as if they are above death.
Go to banking halls, petrol station they do not want to queue because they are in military uniform.
It is often the male officers or soldiers that always want to beat the rules.
In Lagos road for example, Ex-governor Fashola had to lay siege in the road to catch military officers driving in one way road.
Even Governor Sanwo Olu caught one soldier a few days ago driving on one way.
The Nigeria military especially the army and the police needs a better orientation.

The Army is the one being accused; therefore, it cannot probe itself. This behavior by senior military officers against the junior officer is very common and has been in existence for a long time. The problem is that these senior officers have made the young and junior officers their sex objects. If these female officers' reject the advances of these senior officers, they could be threatened with either confinement in a military prison (cell) or garnish their salaries and wages and even the female officers' lives.
I suggest that an independent panel be constituted to look into this accusation, and how to address it. The panel should be made up of outsiders, both males and females, and not a military panel, because military panels would tend to cover up the facts. Also, the senior officers, if found guilty, should be dismissed, demoted and/or reprimanded. We know that all these happen all the time. Even in the NYSC Camps, those drill officers and trainers are culprits to these same accusations.

The Director of Army Public Relation (Nwachukwu) mentioned the lady should have followed/exhausted due procedure/channel...the person I know that wrote the letter of redress (due process) was detained in the guardroom despite being an officer, declared insane, sent for court martial, detained again for not agreeing to be guilty during the court martial and eventually compulsorily retired in contempt of Federal High Court order to maintain status quo...tyranny, impunity and sheer lawlessness

    • @kayodeomotade6993
      @kayodeomotade6993 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

The officer was also detained in a psychiatric hospital at different times to render the letters of redress invalid...that is somewhat a kind of trend.
Oga Nwachukwu's response to Vanguard Newspaper publication on the matter (Encounter) of 18 February 2022 : "...The matter is before the court hence it is subjudice for us to comment in the media". So curious to regard the Court at this time meanwhile the same Court gave the order to maintain status quo but that was blatantly disobeyed...what a sad barefaced twist!

Look, our military believe they are above the laws of the land.
Even when they are wrong, they would still bully their way to brutalise harmless citizen.
Nobody was born with uniform on his or her body from birth, you were first a civilian before you joined military.
Our military needs reorientation especially the low ranking officers.

The army has a lot of problems with corruption and erosion of professionalism. This lack of professionalism has weaken the institutional structure. Also, the army has allowed itself to be corrupted by politics. When you put all this issues together we can clearly see a army that has continues to perform woefully in delivering its core mandate - defending the territorial integrity of the nation.
Also, the army seems to have problems with discipline. The level of indiscipline we see is just mind numbing.
Basic professionalism is gone. A professional army should not condone this sort of behavior.

The problem is do they forcibly relay this principle to their lower cadre troops?
The soldiers in foreign western nations practically worship their civilians but here we see combat troop soldiers that are fed and paid from taxpayers money are brazenly abused, brutalized and they do so because they have firearms in their possession.

The only language Nigerian hear and understand is corruption, lawlessness and injustices and this young girl's case has been there for long time and no remedy because it is insane for one to report his superior or oga and get justice and fairness even in the judicial cycle.
What happened to the thuggery and all the election malpractices in the process of the election, and the INEC impunity and criminalities. Did any thing came out of it, how do we expect Justice for this junior officer reporting his superior for sexual harassment and victimization, whereas it is common in the armed forces and other security forces, that if you want to grow 🪴 you give what you have or pay a damning price with your money 🤑💰 or your private part. It happened almost all the sectors even in selection and job employment. It is even common in the judiciary and among political class. The rot in the system is only God will deliver 🎉😢😮😅 Nigeria.

It is really appalling, though i am not surprised that these kinds of allegations have been heard of.
What do you expect in a society that injustice is the culture or lifestyle.
There are millions of atrocious behaviours heavier than this taking place in all Nigerian security institutions and none security agencies as well.
We are privileged to know about this. Thanks to this lady.
Also, it is very awkward to hear the military leaders blaming her for coming to the public to escalate this heinous allegation.
Are they not supposed to be blamed for allowing her to go beyond the boundary?
If they had done justice to her case, would she have exposed them?
I think we own these military 🪖 and other security agencies there. I suggest that their should be an external body that should be a third-eye to the issues concerning human rights within their agencies.
Many have fallen victims of circumstances like this without being reported.
I have said many times that atrocities and evil practices have been meted on many deemed to be vulnerable amongst us.
The time has come for justice to be done,I am not mistaken, many have lost their lives, and no justice done.
The public should help this lady, letting this slip away just like that will be very detrimental to those victims out there. As well as encourage the perpetrators.

It's an established fact that Nigerian soldiers and police officers have no regard for the citizens' lives. There are so many more bad than good ones it seems.
So wtf are you talking about?

Common men .. why are you acting like you don't see what is going on maybe a few but to many more.. even the police and army and police beat up Nigerians which is not supposed to be so. Nigerians are the ones paying army and police Evey month with tax they pay which means civilians are their Boss and no Nigerian should be arrested or beating for nothing I say for nothing but if a civilian is a criminal then arrest them but don't go asking civilians for Money oooooooooooooo shame

There are isolated yet muffled complaints of same experiences from friends I have in the Armed forces, sadly they don't take it further than grumbling.
A major snag is the system has no viable means of reporting & processing these cases, victims fear being stigmatized and end up nursing thier pains in silence.
I recal a femal friend on 2021 who told me she'd open fire on the senior officer next time he came to her flat to try to molest her... she's eventually left the Armed Forces and relocated to Canada cos she couldn't put up further with the harrassment.

Please you need to visit imostate from orlu road , mbano and okigwe road, nkwere near the lnec what the army and police and NSCDC is doing the people is worrisome, the molest people by rubbing them their money, when they see a person who has dread, spray and other hair style, they stop motorist and everyone will go down and pass with foot, not that they will search the cars as they pass, rather they will collect money, this urgly trend most stop.

By the way people who even get canal knowledge of a woman without her approval how do they even enjoy that shit, bcos I know that as long as a lady decides not to go down with you with her heart that stuff is bitter. Their should be an understanding between both parties...
On the part of the Female soldier ill advice she tender concrete evidence bcos without that, her case maybe swepted under the carpet

To the extent of bringing up her father to intervene on her behalf and these bullies of a Brigadier General and his cohorts would not behave themselves, it's very shameful to have characters like these in the Army. Shameless Attitude is Becoming their New Regular Trade's Mark, O Nigeria ! The Brigadier General sat on her salaries for months, she was abused, she was stigmatized, she was deprived and so on .....just because she turned down their Advances on her prestige, HABA ! All these Army Officers must be brought to book as they had brought shame to NIGERIANS

I hope,The Gov Of Lagos State and TVC could speak up for the female soldier, just as they called out the male soldier a "stupid Boy" at least the female solider is not "stupid" but seeking for help. Its obvious that the female soldier is fed of the institutional madness, saying No to thier 'institutional abuses" . The Nigerian institutions/public office holders are worse than ordinary Nigerians.
