Hey buddy, so I was wondering what is the most interesting or in-depth geocache that you've found?
Here in Oregon (where it all started fyi 😉) there are some pretty eccentric and in depth as well as difficult geocaches. Instead of just having a GPS locationa with little bit of information on potentially where the cash Maybe. You can come across ones that require you to solve riddles, learn some new trade (like metal work, wood working, lock decoding and or picking). You will often come across cashes that require you to have some sort of item with you in order to physically access the cash. There is a geocache at our local library in Beaverton. It's located in the stacks somewhere and it requires you to input a code inorder to open the box. There are even these journey geocaches. Where each cash will lead to another sort of. At the very first Cash in the you are giving clues to where the next one would be. The problem is there are 5 potential locations where the cash is only one of which is correct and each location is located on the opposite end of town. Yes you could potentially go to each one of them which would be very expensive when it comes down to transport yourself... there's even a twist if you choose the wrong place you won't know that it's the wrong place until much further on down the line because it sends you on a wild-goose chase so you must correctly decipher every little clue. The gentleman who told me about this geocache journey made the mistake of incorrectly choosing the next location. He proceeded to waste 3 months and then he had to go all the way back to the second geocache and start from there.

If you check my geocaching profile you'll see some of the 5/5 rating caches i've hidden myself, all inspired by others that i've completed. Lots of puzzle ones, rapelling ones, underwater, caving etc..

Hi Klesh!. Its been 21 years since i lived in Juneau Alaska. If you go panning for gold i hope you have better luck then i did. The only place that i had some luck with finding specks of gold was on Douglas Island. At the far Northeast end of the island there "was" a creek.."Gold Creek"(really). You can try there unless someone gave you better location. Back when i lived in Juneau, there was an old guy who obviously knew where the gold is. Every few weeks he would hop in a skiff and head off to one of the many islands near Juneau and come back with many ounces of picker sized nuggets(i have seen them). But never did catch the name of the fella,i just knew that he had an ancient Honda trail "90" cc motorcycle and would see him dash around. He was an old guy back then so i don't know if he is still alive. Best Wishes Klesh!

I accidentally geo-cache'd a spot once up outside of Bethel, Ohio. I was working in the wood lot and sat down for lunch on the log that the jar was in. Well, I had a friend in college that used to geo-cache, and she always spoke about how folks who don't geocache are called "muggles" to folks that do.... I had some flagging ribbon so I wrote a note, signed it, and put it in the jar. After lunch, we returned to our tree surveying, and a geo-cacher came up to sign the cache paper. She pulled my flag out and cracked up laughing, then returned it after signing the paper and went on her way.
A year later, I'd moved away, and one of my friends who still works for the company found the cache while working in the wood lot... They sent me the picture, my note is still there... "A muggle was here... Hahaha"

Well Shane I lived in Ketchikan for many years before moving north to the anchorage area. I call it the shit hole of alaska because most people there are very poor. If you go out to the big island, in fact the largest island in america, the Prince of Wales there are many logging camps and real nice people. I believe that the bars and churches equal out like thirty four bars then thirty four churches. I think that the north end of twn is the better half. Logging is really at a low now but when the big mill L.P. was in operation it employed the most and then the canneries where next when the season for the type of fish there, plus some crab and bottom fish. Gold on the island is possible but most was stacked by the logging companies because they needed the rock to build roads. Some of the gravel fits were loaded with gold and the deal was after the logging was done they would mine the roads and get the gold back. I seen gold in some of the pits but nothing like the fraser river has. The yukon is known for gold and many a tv show is up in that region. Where I live in Wasilla there is some gold but not much, more know as the garden belt where record size cabbage and other garden supplies are. Up north of me by car is a lot of gold on this side of the Denali mt., and there are several gold claims and lots of places to do recreational mining. I know my grandson know but we are not really on speaking terms. I do hope that you have fun but stay out of the bars as they just suck money out of your pocket. Most of the bars that I frequented are closed now and I never went to that many. I hope you enjoy the anchorage area. Good luck
