Oh god, this is the moment I started to TRULY cry! I was wondering if there was going to be a moment like this, and even though I was prepared, I STILL WAS NOT! First the song already was "playing" with me, then the ending came in, as Kiara started to cry and I thought it could not get any worse. And when that silence came in, and you heard Calli's muffed, comforting voice. Yeeap! Already had gotten teary eyes, but then this moment came in and it was all: OPEN THE FLOODGATES! NO HOLDING BACK THIS FLOOD/RAIN! I have to say that I think we reached emotional PEAK here! So lovely, sad and beautiful moment.
Hope Kiara feels better after letting out her emotions. I think this was a really good way to vent her emotions, along with the letter.
Man, even if some parts of their relationship are played up on account of the medium, a moment like this... it makes it clear that Calli and Kiara do genuinely love each other

This made me so sad and hit close to home.
All of the talk about how “adulting” sucks in your mid 20s. Working full time, paying bills, etc... the one thing I wasn’t prepared for was the shrinking of my social circle. People moving away or just simply losing touch is really hard.
To be entirely real here, I think part of the reason why Kiara singing this song and getting so sad resonated with so many people is because it tapped into something that we all share; we all drift away from people we used to be close to or just not being able to be around them as much anymore. That pain is just kinda part of being human and living in society, so seeing Kiara so freely express it and Calli try her best to be as good a friend as she can just stuck with people. I know that's why it hit me as hard as it did.
It's nice that it's pretty clear Calli and Kiara aren't going to drift apart, though, even setting aside the fact that they still are coworkers. They're clearly really close and it's so sweet.

Imagine going to one of your favor destinations hoping to do things you always wanted to do, then the pandemic hits and you can't do any of it. On a depressed whim, after looking into vtubers you decide to try out yourself hoping you can make the most of your trip, only to not only meet the love of your life, but to share with them your love, passion, and work experience in a way they can only understand.Then you forget that you have to go once next year hits and before you do, the love of your life plans a trip to celebrate meeting each other and do some of the things you want, and then being forced to say good bye to them after. Honestly...how did Kiara last this long without crying?
She didn't. She's cried many times over this in the last few months. It's impossible to hold it in all the time. She's a true professional. May she find joy and happiness in her homecoming. Her dear friend will always be in her heart, even in "Australia"

Thank you for saving this forever. this was a beautiful and bittersweet moment in the stream, and I'm so very glad someone clipped it. I had never actually watched a single stream until this one. I knew I would have missed something truly special.
I went through a very similar situation when I was younger, however, moving across the country rather than across the world. Leaving friends, love, and family behind is a very difficult thing to do.
if anything this hit hardest for calli even tho she in JP but she only seems close or hang out with only Kiara with other 3 EN girls continent apart and i havent seen her socialized with the JP girls,

Additional context (taken from a comment in a different video by NanoAugur): Kiara has hinted about wanting to sing an older farewell song to Calli for a while now during her Superchat readings tangents and when she saw that one of her viewers actually guessed the song correctly ("Leaving On A Jet Plane"), she went into detail how when she was a rebellious teenager, she thought her mom's music taste was bad, but when she heard her mom listening to this song she fell in love with it, and the two even bonded over it, with Kiara singing the song to her mom.
So it has even heavier emotional weight to her aside from the very apt lyrics to the situation, hence the choice. And yeah, she predicted that she probably wouldn't be able to get through the whole song without breaking down into tears.

Kiara used to live in Japan, like Calli, during the whole covid thing, but her work visa, which was already being stretched to its limit, expired. So, this was her and Calli having one last get-together before she left for Austria. Also, this was before the restrictions lifted, and they all got to meet up this summer.
This was the last song that she sang in a two part karaoke. She prefaced it by saying it had some emotional memories from her rebellious teen days, and I guess the weight of having to leave her Japanese friends, as well as Calli soon, along with the related lyrics to the situation, finally hit mid-song.
I think that covers it.
